A year later and some more testing: Keep in mind with Excalibur's Angelus buff doesn't stack with a priest's higher level version of the buff, making the buff from the weapon pretty unnecesary. Whereas the Longhorn spear's automatic heal procs are SUPER nice. I went with The Holy Guard is probably the single optimal shield for any spec (except shield bash)... but I went with Naga Scale at 80, and it's not bad. It doesn't reduce the damage you take any more than the Holy Guard, but it increases the Damage Reflect by 10%+1% of paladin's max HP (at refined 10). Unfortunately, the 10% is multiplicative, rather than additive (not sure if that's intended or a bug). So it changes the 40% from the buff to 44%, rather than 50%. But the 1% of your max HP definitely works. Plus, you can have a cog that further reflects a multiple of your Vitality. Each reflection may not be much, but it's EVERY time you're hit, which stacks up over a dungeon. And the more damage bosses do to you, the more they're doing to themselves. Last EC, we did EC3 bapho, and it was SO nice watching him die to damage reflect to taste his own medicine! Holy Guard is probably more worth it over-all... but Naga Scale is viable as long as it's at least +10. And looks cool.
1. Can you slot 2 same card into a 2-slot equip? 2. If yes, will there be penalty for stacking same card? Eg: First card 10%, then second card reduced effect such as 5%
@@JeezPlayingAgain Thank you! one more question. Can i play grandcross in this build? cuz i've been thinking my matk is pretty high. im LK tho, planning to change job on paladin when it release on ragnarok global.
It shouldn't be too much of a difference. The armor set would be relatively the same for tank. The only thing you would really need to worry about changing is equipment. So just save some blueprints and you should be fine
@JeezPlayingAgain you said you are left with 2 skill points you put in riding skill. After I buy all the skills you mentioned no points left for riding. Which skill did you leave points out of?
So if i go paladin will i be able to use the tank build to farm or i will need another preset for farming? I'm currently lord knight full tank and i can use the full tank build to farm also, hoping that when i move to paladin i can still use full tank to farm?
paladin dont have any aoe skill for deal dmg if you go the shield route.. so autofarm would be hard.. however with reflect n Pets, it do become bit easier.
My 3 presets are: Shield, AgiSpear(HC), and Tank/Sacri(Hybrid). Can't let go of HC 'cause it still deals higher dps than shield chain(with its long CT). In shield build, dmg is compromised if I focused on Dex, and it only reduces around .2 seconds CT. We need a buff. :(
I gotta try that out. I saw a video where the guy invested in INT more than dex and his CT was 0.2 secs with a 0.5 CD time. He was pulling out more damage than HC
I remember my wizard guildmate ranting about how he doesn't feel that much change investing in DEX stat and says that INT itself reduces some kind of cast time or cast delay(not sure). Pls make a video if ever. Thanks
for an f2p player that probably won't have enough resources to make two builds, which build would you think is better in general? Devotion build or Shield Boom build? since they use two completely different sets of equipment. i've been thinking thinking that Devotion build is useful for almost everything, but at the same time i'm worried if it'll make my daily farming super slow
As a free to play, its very possible to build both. Trust me. Just be smart on your spending. But if I had to choose one, I recommend shield chain/boomerang. PVE content is a lot bigger than PVP and even if you wanted to build Devotion, you won't be even be able to farm or do anything to gain exp to level
@@JeezPlayingAgain thank you for the answer! maybe i'll try to build both of them when the job finally came out, i've been very careful about my spending as i want to save up for the eventual job change are you gonna make a new Paladin guide when the job comes out on Global server? you make the best Paladin guides out there and i would love it if you make one for Global since some features are different here
Devo tanking is extremely hard at floor 55+ especially if the person your devoing isn't properly geared. So with this build and my CURRENT equipment, my max HP was 61K
Oh phendark card, I was like fendarq?? Haha I haven't tested it out yet, but because shield chain works with the closed range damage buff food, I'm 99% sure phendark card will work with shield chain
hi jeez, what can you say about Imperial Shield, I'm currently using that shield for now. is it also good in devotank build? hope to notice me senpai. 👍👍😁
Imperial is great against magic damage. I switch between that and valkyrie but for devotion I only use sacred shield since any defensive item i have isn't going to reduce damage taken from devotion
Since there are only 3 presets for skill builds, I made a hybrid tank build that has reflect shield, sacrifice, and devotion whereas I can do PvP and run dungeons without sacrificing my damage. My current hp is 55k at lvl 87. So far I enjoy it! :)
No. Lord Knight was the ORIGINAL original tank (before any of the alternate paths came out). But in original RO, we also had two forms of mitigation. Your actual DEF was much lower because it was multiplicative. 1 Def=1% damage mitigation. So 50 Def cut all damage in half, therefore you could never get to 100 Def. Then, each point of VIT provided a flat 1 damage reduction/vit (after multiplicative reduction). What we're left with in ROO treats defense somewhere kinda in the middle-ish. But no one has cracked the actual formula, from what I've seen.
Both are 100% worth. My tank build: 10 Heal, 10 faith, 5 providence, 10 Auto Guard, 5 smite, 3 Protection, 2 Demon Bane (Dropping 5 points from Paladin) Paladin: 10 Reflect shield, 10 Devotion, 5 Sympathy, 5 Fortitude, 5 Defending Aura. I keep considering switching stuff around to try to afford Gospel, but negating 10 SP recovery is rough for being so random, and I can't decide what to get rid of, and it's really only "worth" at level 10... so what would you drop 10 ranks in? Maybe 10 Heal, 10 faith, 5 providence, 10 Auto Guard, 5 smite, 3 Protection, Paladin: 10 Reflect shield, 10 Devotion, 3 Sympathy, 5 Fortitude, 9 Battlechant? You only really NEED to get 60% of your devotion's aggro to make sure you keep aggro off of them... but I dunno.
@@aljunpyo10 yeah, don't worry so much about your armors until level 80. Since that's when you can get the Goibne Set. But before you go full tank build, make sure to go some sort of offensive build first. how about imprints? what will you suggest for this build?
This is a full tank paladin? Am i right? What should i use if im going to grind or kill the mobs with this build?
1. Can you slot 2 same card into a 2-slot equip?
2. If yes, will there be penalty for stacking same card? Eg: First card 10%, then second card reduced effect such as 5%
1. Yes you can
2. No, but the % doesn't stack. For example, Sidewinder card gives each attack a 3% but if you equip 2 its not 6% its just 3% twice.
@@JeezPlayingAgain thanks. Again what’s the difference of 3% twice compared to 6%?
I kinda have similar question with bogun card,it stack of not?
