Plant Air 404 was a scheduled flight from Ambon Airport in Indonesia to Darwin in Australia. The plane was an Airbus A320-232. This plane wasn’t scheduled to fly this route as it was flying to Kuala Lumpur but there was a thunderstorm in the capital. So it had to take the route to Darwin. PK-JHV had a Plant Air terminal bus coming to drop passengers off to be the first people aboard. After all 167 occupants boarded, the buses drove away and the trucks went away. Fact: before boarding time, the catering service came. Pilot Pekapu Leyakor checked the flight list how to taxi since it was his first time flying the Airbus A320. He flies Boeing planes, but Airbus is built differently. He told Copilot Sepak Penkalsky “Taxi.” The plane got to the runway and full throttle. The plane took off. This plane would fly back to Ambon on the next day, 21st September 2019. The day it was flying to Darwin was on the 20th. The plane hit cruising altitude near the coast of Indonesia. Passengers had time to spare for the 2 hour and 50 minute flight. The plane also had free-wifi aboard. The plane started serving food such as olives, rice, satay, noodles, chow mein, mango pudding, biryani and samosa. One Indian man aboard exchanged the biryani and samosa for 27 roopies (whatever you call the Indian currency, my friend told me). The crew could take roopies since Plant Air is basically from India and Pakistan. It was time for the plane to land in Darwin but an airport baggage truck was on the runway. The plane landed anyway but the plane crashed into the trucks, with serious damage to the plane. When everyone evacuated, 5 people were stuck in the front and the front fell off, killing them.😢 Pilots weren’t in as they were flung out with MINOR INJURIES?! 2 survived in the truck out of the 6 in the truck. The luggages were coming from a private jet. But one of them succumbed to their injuries while the other one survived for 5 hours but died in hospital.
