Roots of Pacha ended up becoming my favorite out of all of these. I love that you domesticate plants. Coral island ended up being super disappointing for me. Bugs galore, broken and felt super incomplete compared to other farm sims. Which is sad because is had lots of potential.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your honesty in covering these games. It’s super valuable to have more nuanced opinions, especially for farming games because they are so long and there are so many! Your channel is exactly what I was looking for.
I love coral island. It is one of my favourite farming games. The fact I can turn off combat is a massive plus. For me Dinkum was a huge no as the combat is always in your face with no option to turn off. I suffer with anxiety and that kind of combat triggers me and sadly stopped me playing the game. I wish more games would be made with options to avoid combat or make it easier for those that don't get on with it. Fae farm was another favourite for me. I could avoid combat if I wanted to, and the gameplay was a joy. Looking forward to the first dlc. It is true that we are all different and won't enjoy the exact same games. I appreciate that you run through what might be a plus or negative depending on what kind of games people like. It helps me decide what I will or won't buy. Appreciate the effort that goes into these videos. Thanks ❤
I love Traveler's Rest! It's early access but there's so much content. I have almost 200 hours in it (across a few saves) and can't wait for even more updates. Definite S tier for me too!
I agree with Paleo Pines. It’s cute, for what it is….. but it is empty. It’s like opening a bag of chips, that’s 75% air…… I bought it early on sale. And have spent a grand total of 8 hours in it. Do we have a Sun Haven release date for Switch? I have been waiting for this game to port over forever! Coral Island is probably my second most anticipated game first switch. Hurry up and port already! ❤
That opening a bag of chips analogy hit me, might use it for my future videos hahaha. As for Sun Haven, I have no idea when the Switch port is coming, but considering how bad games have been running on there, it's probably for the best for now :(
i’m deff occupied with coral island and dave the diver and fae farm and all that good coziness on top of all the other great games that came out this year lol but i don’t have a pc so i can’t play sun haven it’s killing me 😭 lol
My only issue with AWOL is that they removed some of the most important and heart warming scenes from the original. Those scenes made the game so beloved by everyone it’s so sad…like one of my favorite scenes is when lumina tries to hold in her tears when you tell her your getting married and when your character reaches his hand out for her but resists knowing he has to break her heart…removing rival marriages was a huge mistake. Removing the scenes of characters having difficult family conversations etc etc. I was devastated, I figured if they removed that stuff they’d add something else to make up for it but they just didn’t.
Good list! The only one I'd move is Roots of Pacha. That's A tier for me. I also didn't like the Story of Seasons game! And I agree with your balanced assessment of Fae Farm. Please keep make great content!
sandrock was the one i played the most of and still sink time into played a bit of dinkum but for me was one i forgot about. and Coral Island i have been enjoying but sandrock kept pulling me away
Thank you for the video I wan to try my time and SandRock. One question that I have is: You mention hybrids, games that offer a combination of farming, action, rpg, story... so on and so forth, but for me the idea of a farming game is to move at your own pace, create your own goals, mainly to have a canvas and tools to paint your picture. It would similar to gardening, or painting, where you can quiet down the rest of the world, and your thoughts and just relax. My question is, wouldn't hybrids change this perspective on farming games ? Giving an additional goal, mechanic or story would truncate your "farming" experience to what the game is guiding towards? Sorry for the long comment. I think you have really interesting insights and would love to hear you opinion on my question.
That is totally understandable. For me personally, as I mentioned in the video, I don't like a game that has only one thing going for it (so only farming). I like games that let me really live a farmer's life + go extra. So games like Stardewvalley, Medieval Dynasty, Coral Island, Sandrock etc. help break the repetitiveness for me so I don't get bored. I hope that makes sense.
We are polar opposites with Sun Haven and Roots of Pacha + SoS:AWL and that is fine! People's experiences vary, not all games is for everyone so IDK why people are mad at you for disliking AWL! Also, I cannot wait for you to try Wildmender! 👀👀👀 I shall wait on Discord!
Omg, if you see my Before You Buy for AWL, pitchforks were screaaaaaaaaaming at me LMAO. I was like, for a cozy community, "y'all" are making me reconsider how cozy some of you are :P
Oh wow I didn't expect to be in the shout-out but it makes my heart feel all fuzzy inside. Also this was a really good list as always and I want to thank you for helping me learn something important about gaming. The fact that you don't have to continue a game if you aren't enjoying it like you used to. I've honestly had this problem a bit with Cozy Grove. It's not that I don't enjoy it because it's really good, cozy, and I love the characters. It's just that the progress has proven to be a bit too slow for my tastes. I love taking my time or going as fast as I want so having to wait multiple real life days to continue the main quests was kind of lessening the fun for me. I enjoyed my time playing but thank you for helping see that sometimes it's ok to delete a game instead of making yourself play.
Dinkum is one I want to play soooooo bad and I need it for the Switch asap! Lol So jealous!!!! Great Tier list and video as usual! I get so excited when a notification comes up saying you’ve posted a new video 😃
It breaks my heart that I had to stop playing My Time at Sandrock because my PC really isn’t up to par. Gameplay for me will always be the deciding factor in whether I continue to play a game or not. Love Coral Island but I am taking a break from it since I am waiting for some of the future content stuff. Sun Haven is #1 on my list of games to get. I heard they added and improved a few things in a recent update. Here’s hoping they add kids to the game lol. I also have been playing Harvest Moon: Winds of Anthos and I have been enjoying it a lot! That’s about it as far as farm sims.
@@MissBubbles Mmmm, I think it depends on your preferences. I find the world exploration really enjoyable. Having a horse definitely helps. But I'll admit, the chars are a bit one note, especially the non-Marriage candidates so don't expect a huge deep story either. Is it worth the price? For me, yes, but it isn't worth it if you want an engaging story and chars. I have completed the main story, but I haven't done everything I wanted to do yet (like I haven't gotten married). One nice thing about the farming is I don't have to switch my tools around. Whatever is needed at the time is automatically used. I do enjoy the mining and fishing (fishing is the best way to earn money). But I would wait to get the game when it's on sale though.
Yes, Coral Island is completely addictive, and it's not even really complete yet (though as of this comment, the big update is in testing). Since I lived in Tampa, FL during BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster, Coral Island's premise definitely resonates with me. And so many unexpected cut scenes. Best of it's kind I've played, and among my favorite games regardless of genre.
I was really excited for Fae Farm and bought the 40 USD version on steam, but I quickly lost interest in it sadly. I really enjoyed the mining and gameplay mechanics, but the lack of personality in the characters really turned me away, as well as the one-sided conversations with no dialogue choices. It made the world feel shallow because I didn't even want to interact with any of the NPCs. On the other hand, Moonstone Island is easily one of my favorites from this year. The diversity in characters is so nice, the spirits and battle system keeps the gameplay interesting, and being able to explore 100 islands makes the gameplay loop unique to any farming game I've played. Will eventually get back to playing it after Coral island and the DDV expansion... so many games 😂
Seen so many recommend Moonstone Island in diff videos and it has been mentioned in many of them. I cannot wait to try it, it's in my backlog and I feel like this will be a gem to play soon
As someone who bought both Pretty Princess games at launch, repetitiveness is their biggest problem. They have this FANTASTIC art style and world and princess customization options and it's cute and has a lot of potential. But they really need to find a formula with a core gameplay loop that's actually engaging and doesn't wear thin through constant repetition. I believe that they can do it, Magical Garden Island was kind of a step in the right direction...but yeah, maybe third time will be the charm.
I'm not one for farming games, but honestly Coral Island changed that. I get that there are still missing elements and some effects are kinda of meh. But something about this game is so freaking charming. Also, the fact there are a lot of hot people on this island makes it hard to pick just one XD. I think the idea of collecting trash and healing the ocean is the best part (mostly because I love water levels so I'm baise lol). It even caused me to pick up stardew valley.
I was so happy to see someone feel the same as I did about "it's a wonderful life", I agree, it is not a game for me whatsoever. Thank you for always being so honest with us. BTW I just love when your videos pop up, it's always my que to grab my blanket and some coco and relax . Thanks for the coziness💜
Not sure if you’ve checked it out but Japan Rural life is a fantastic little life sim game. It has a bit of farming and your tasked at fixing up a small village in the mountains of Japan. I’ve been instantly hooked since I’ve started playing it. The only bummer is it’s only available right now on Apple Arcade. I really hope the devs release it for switch or PC because it’s a great game!
I really appreciate your videos, because you don’t just go with what everyone else is liking, so your reviews feel authentic. Sun haven looks amazing, I’ve been watching Payton on Payton’s corner stream it and it’s gorgeous!
This is a great list! I was super looking forward to Roots of Pacha and Fae Farm so it’s a bummer to hear they weren’t a hook. I totally agree with your S tier and I can’t wait to play Coral Island and Sun Haven especially! Switch is the only way I can play games these days so I hope they come to switch soon! Thanks for your honesty and putting together a list that really does feel like you were telling a friend how you felt about the games. Cheers! ❤
Coral Island needs to come to the Switch Omg!! I literally am beyond jealous of everyone getting to play it. Sandrock I’m waiting to buy after Christmas as I know I’m gonna be hooked, obsessed and not get anything done once I start! So excited! And I felt the exact same way about Paleo Pines. I only played a couple hours and have no desire to go back. I was so shocked at myself. It’s so clunky and weird and dead feeling. Boooo lol
Thanks for sharing your honest opinion! Lately I find myself not liking games that I thought would be right up my alley. I wonder if the abundance of farming games that have come out have made me much more picky. Where I may have tolerated some annoying gameplay elements before when there were fewer farming titles, now that I am spoiled for choice it seems like I am less likely to keep at a game when it starts to feel tedious. Anyway, great video! Appreciate you always being honest, even if people end up being salty about it in the comments! 😆 I also really liked the jazzy background music you used in the video!
No Place Like Home was interesting until an update corrupted my save (PS5). Fresh Start I could complete but was essentially the same premise (same developer too). The hub gave me an early present (playstation portal) and I have been playing Coral Island. The amount of romanceable characters is overwhelming though.
(I m drinking coffee and enjoying your video.) I can relate to what you are saying at 21:48. I thought I was bored of farming sim games, or maybe Stardew Valley was so well done, that everything else feels like junk in comparison. All the stuff you are saying is making me nod with agreement. Every single Farming Sim that I've bought in at least the last five years (other than stardew) has just been terrible. I am afraid to buy farming games all now unless I spent a whole week hunting for what is decent through video reviews.
I've started 💖 Coral Island 💖on Xbox. Now finally it's out on the Nintendo Switch and I've bought Coral Island again, now for my Nintendo Switch. Can I import my game status from one console to the other?
@@MissBubbles Oh, you're right. Coral Island is NOT on the Nintendo Switch! Sorry for spreading false hope. Thank you for answering anyway. Greetings. 🫶
I’m with you with almost all of these. I wanted to like AWL so much but I hadn’t played the original and found this one so boring! I did like Roots of Pacha but for some reason I just… didn’t feel like coming back to it. Maybe someday. I haven’t played My time at sandrock but I absolutly hated My time at portia so I’m not sure I should even try hahaha.
Loving Sun Haven. I loved Portia so know I will definitely love Sandrock. Coral Island though felt like a beta at least the XBOX version but looks like it has potential to be great once completed so looking forward to that.
Ahh Roots of Pachia - looked perfect for me but sadly.. i have struggle to play it.. dont khnow why but it didnt "click" for me :( My Time at Sandrock is awsome - loved Portia and Sandrock makes it even better !
These are all great games! I love that the farming sim genre has grown so much since the days of the original Harvest Moon on the SNES. I'm super happy to hear that you are enjoying Coral Island, despite some of the issues the game currently has, it is very easy to get lost in the gameplay. I also agree that Story of Seasons: A Wonderful life is not the best that it could be. When the original came out on the n64 there wasn't much to the genre other than the staples of grow crops, tend to livestock, meet someone and get married/have a family, and although the original was a wonderful experience and a great game at the time, the genre has grown to be so much more than that. As the switch version was only a remaster and not a remake, of the original, it missed out on all the newer features/content that has helped the genre thrive.
I’ve played the original Wonderful Life and it’s a shame they didn’t add things to improve. While I don’t hate it, it’s a boring one and I don’t recommend it to people who are new to the genre.
When does sandrock get good? I love A wonderful life but I just can't get into Sandrock or Portia. The characters feel generic and the gameplay is tedious. Stardew I also couldn't get into/ Coral Island was awful for me, it was clunky and felt terrible.
Definitely Dinkum! I should try again Coral Island, only played in EA and I felt it as a chore after a while (that's when I feel I should stop playing)
Awesome video & keep up the good work & I didn’t get a game for my 23 birthday at all but I hope I get one for Christmas this year & I will get Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life & it is a fun game to play & I will laughing every single moment while I’m playing the game & marvelous & xseedgames made a amazing game this year in 2023 & I’m forever grateful for them no matter what
Overall Video Games are meant for your own personal enjoyment so don't feel like you have to overly defend not liking a so called popular game. Yeah I love "A wonderful Life" but that's me and I know it's not for everyone or really care. Lol. Bottom line is you play games for your own fun and/or relaxation. Surprise Surprise!!
Sadly not everyone gets this and as a content creator in the public eye, we get a lot of pressure into "you MUST like this game or else you are a terrible UA-camr". So thank you for being one of the bubbly humans out there who get that we can have diff opinons!
Fae farm is c tier at the highest. The hate is because this game is just a sidestep at best from other farming games. Feels so meh. Feels like I already played it. Nothing stands out at all
You can just tell how much time and effort has been poured into yet another great video from you! Thank you for giving the pros and cons with constructive criticism - best way to do it so we know exactly why you thought what about each. Yes it can be uncomfortable sharing your thoughts but these are your thoughts and opinions and I actually find them quite useful, whilst still wanting to check out some of the games that you’ve listed regardless of where you placed! Keep em coming!
Really appreciate your feedback 🥹 it's always stressful to make any review, byb, or ranking video cause some people do not understand that we can have an opinion and be civil. They take it as an attack on them. But the good thing is my community knows that's not the case so we are able to have this safe space to share our thoughts freely!

i love coral island but still got bug, overall i love this game.
and the sims 4 cottage dlc is my favorite game.
harvestmoon wind of atos fun too
Thanks for sharing your honest opinion!
The jazzy soundtracks are form The Sims, back in the day haha!
No Place Like Home was interesting until an update corrupted my save (PS5). Fresh Start I could complete but was essentially the same premise (same developer too).
The hub gave me an early present (playstation portal) and I have been playing Coral Island. The amount of romanceable characters is overwhelming though.
Bought Coral Island during Black Friday and I plan to pick up Sun Haven eventually
Both game was stunnin and also dinkum.
have you played moonstone island? this pokemon farming sim looks interesting
It's in my backlog!
Love your mini reviews, save time and worth saving as reference. 😊👍
(I m drinking coffee and enjoying your video.)
I can relate to what you are saying at 21:48.
I had no idea Coral Island is on Nintendo Switch?
@@MissBubbles Oh, you're right. Coral Island is NOT on the Nintendo Switch! Sorry for spreading false hope.
Thank you for answering anyway. Greetings. 🫶
I really enjoyed Drago Noka!
Sandrock is still very similar to Portia, so if you hated that one, I doubt you will enjoy Sandrock!
You get it! While it's so innovative, it just won't click with everyone like pretty much any other game
Drago Noka is my personal SS tier, while all other games are not even close.
So happy you like it!
Same, I have always been a fan of Story of Seasons series but somehow I'm just not interested with A Wonderful Life.
I love this video but I was so distracted by how stunning your lashes are! Are they extensions or falsies? If they're falsies, please drop the brand!
These are my lashes! I don't wear any falsies, hehe, thank you!!
This was a wonderful year for farming games 🎉
Strange that the Hello Kitty Island Adventure isn't making the lists. But that's okay. I'm just stoked that Sun Haven made S tier list. BWahahahaha!
I did not like it and completely forgot about it!
When does sandrock get good? I love A wonderful life but I just can't get into Sandrock or Portia. The characters feel generic and the gameplay is tedious. Stardew I also couldn't get into/
Coral Island was awful for me, it was clunky and felt terrible.
I can't answer that as we have very diff taste is games haha!
Definitely Dinkum! I should try again Coral Island, only played in EA and I felt it as a chore after a while (that's when I feel I should stop playing)
I feel you when you say a game felt like a chore. It's the worst feeling
Is there any good farming game/ Quest games
As in VR farming games?
This reminds me.... i need to play Stardew Valley... once i slay some more of my backlog that is. For sure.
Miss Bubbles is Dinkum on Nintendo switch
Not yet!
Awesome video & keep up the good work & I didn’t get a game for my 23 birthday at all but I hope I get one for Christmas this year & I will get Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life & it is a fun game to play & I will laughing every single moment while I’m playing the game & marvelous & xseedgames made a amazing game this year in 2023 & I’m forever grateful for them no matter what
Been playing Coral Island since early access and its fantastic. Even better now that it is live.
Understood and You're welcome. Keep up the good work!@@MissBubbles
You should add harvestella
It was not released in 2023
@@MissBubbles ugh yes , thats true sorry mb 🫠
How dare you dislike game that I like?!? hahaha
No Farming Simulator 2022 in a video about farming games? For shame on you, Bubbles...
I refuuuuse to play it
I love the farming simulator games. They look super cheesy but are crazy addictive. Will suck far too many hours.
thankyouu
Fae farm is c tier at the highest. The hate is because this game is just a sidestep at best from other farming games. Feels so meh. Feels like I already played it. Nothing stands out at all
Coral island is the best farming i have ever played
Hands down
You can just tell how much time and effort has been poured into yet another great video from you!
@@MissBubbles omg absolutely! It’s healthy and logical discussion! I liked the analogy of the food and different tastes because that’s exactly what it’s like!
