- And so, the curtain falls. Here is the so anticipated facelift of the Audi RS3. This is called 8Y.5 and the detailed video goes up on the UA-cam channel this very moment.
So, what are the changes? Let me point out the most important for you:
Looks:
- New front fascia design with broader and flatter front grille
- New voluminous rhombus-pattern grille
- The three apertures are now above the front splitter instead of above the grille
- Removal of the front RS3 badge (!!!!!???!?!?!)
- Redesigned DRL headlights and taillights
- Brand new and bigger diffuser with F1-look-a-light reflection light
- Thew new Audi 2D logos front and rear and the new RS3 badge on the rear
Performance:
- Same, unchanged power
- Enhanced dynamics through optimized cornering and higher corner speeds
- Evolved oversteer and no more understeer
- Further developed algorithms help the torque splitter, electronic stability control, wheel selective torque control and and the adaptive dampers
- New standard tyres
- New precise tuning of the chassis control systems for optimized cornering
- The exhaust flap control was optimized between 2200-3500rpm
Interior:
- Completely new steering wheel with flat-top and flat-bottom
- Bucket seats
- Usage of high quality materials
- New rev-counter which looks more old-school

I think the previous gen looked better. I don't like the front rings or the steering wheel. Glad they kept the trunk rings the same, those are the best looking now.
I like the pre-face lift better personally, particularly the back end & headlights. Plus the front grille looks too big visually for my tastes. But, this is a lot better than some of the other new designs at least. Just please go back to the old badging (Audi emblem + RS3 badge on the front)

The new badging looks terrible, the 'italic' styling matching the red/white symbol was better...and no RS3 emblem at the front grille? It's a miss there.
@@Roddy_Zeh If and it is a big if I change my RS3 8Y for this, I'd just remove the shit badges and fit the same ones that are on my RS3. Simple, problem, solved.

Interior looks much better and classy compared the the gti esque styling of the previous. Badges should be like they were, and the rear bumper much better imo instead having that tacky plastic mesh look. Overall an improvement.
Can you buy the RS badge online anywhere to put onto he grille?
Thank you for a REAL video of the new RS3. So many sites have been showing renderings or amalgamations of other models. Im glad they went back to the older display, the newer steering wheel, the redone fascia, and obviously the torque vectoring adjustments.
That's only because those videos were pre-launch. Now, dozens of videos like this and they're all the same. We need to see the actual spec and options, as all we see here a some cosmetic changes that are questionable at best The new steering wheel for example, cheap crap. I have an RS3 8Y sportback and so far, I see nothing that'll have me trading for the facelift model, especially given the prices Audi are trying to charge for it.

Of course it's cheap. Just look at the new A4, sorry A5. Cheap AF. Yet look at the price hikes. Audi lost the plot.
honestly, my 24' rs3 steering wheels feels cheap AF but yeah, this one comes across just as bad if not a tad worse.
The facelift performance is slightly better (2% faster on a road course track) but the looks and everyday usability seem about equal. I think pre facelift buyers and facelift buyers will both be happy. Good job Audi. 🎉

Wait until you see the price, you might be in for a shock. Audi have been adding 10k to their new RS models over the version they replace and this is just a facelift, NOT a new car.
The front grill takes up the entire front end (again). The exhaust area of the rear end looks out of place and almost bulbus. The interior has way too much going on. Piano black center area with no physical shifter again. A squircle steering wheel? Touch capisitive buttons? But why?.... lights are cool, though.

I never considered the RS3 too much, because I thought it was too small. But I dunno, the more I look at it the more I like it. This one looks great, and I bet it’s incredibly fun to drive. Absolutely love those wheels too

I think it's less about speed upgrades but more about handling capabilities. Supposedly the facelift model is able to take corners better than pre-facelift. Which was already pretty good.
@@NJRacer623 Just put decent tyres on it, which Audi never do. You got either P Zero or Bridgestones, which my RS3 came with. Both pretty poor. I've now got Michelin PS4 on the car and the grip and handling is transformed.

And how terrible does that steering wheel look? The airbag cover in that cheap plastic material(make it leather with some nice stitching) and those silly haptic buttons ... These mistakes shouldn't be happening in 2024, especially being a high priced Audi ...
Black, the worst colour you can get. Never looks clean, shows scratches and swirls and gets too hot in summer, plus, boring. My RS3 is tango red, looks bloody awesome and a lot of people agree on that.

@@luciussander8217 Scratches and swirls on black paintwork are due to incorrect washing techniques. I've owned black cars before and never had an issue with the paint. That is down to owner maintenance. When black is clean, it definitely looks the best.

@@crheming It's just a facelift. Things they should have changed, they didn't. Just wait for the price, bear in mind the new S3 costs almost as much as the current RS3, so expect this to be £70k fully optioned. In which case, good luck selling that.
The 3D front badges haven't looked good on any of the new Audi reveals, they are just flat out worse then the old design. Also no RS badge on the front is a real head scratcher.

Current 8y owner, I think the only thing I that surprised me is the new design of rear bumper & diffuser. To be honest, it looks much better than the 8y

The logo, the wheels, steering wheel, the badging, front redesign, I don’t know, just not feeling it. Also, maybe they could’ve gone for a bit less black plastic at the rear. To me it looks less aggressive, less like an rs than the pre facelift.
Everytime all new cars came with piano black, more and more. These pieces does not have a good life over the years and scratches appears you wash them, no matter what. Still like the dimensions, rims, and motor line. I will ever miss old school interior finishings of Audi, which used to be unique.

All cars get placed on shallow water. But normally with a front end badge, which will be part of the RS pack on the RS3... 🙄

Doesn't need more power. 180mph and 60 in under 4 seconds. I struggle to use the power in mine, what with speed limits and traffic. Just good to have the grunt for overtakes and back road blasts.
I like the previous steering wheel but them dynamic buttons make up for it
I love my 8Y because it looks most like the LMS TCR, they both share the honeycomb grill / strip and shape of front side intake.
If the front badge will not be there, I’m gonna flip. Audi has completely lost the plot in that case

@@CCC-DID The M2 and RS3 are such different cars, I find it odd they are so commonly compared. I get that they are the junior performance car of each brand but one is a RWD coupe while one is an AWD 4-door

Audi UK, are you going to offer us all the options this time? You've skimped on the facelift S3, so I fully expect things like bucket seats, interior styling pack and ceramic brakes not to be offered to UK customers. If you make that mistake again, I'm out and will keep my carbon 8Y another couple of years. Don't like the new badges and that steering wheel looks very cheap... black plastic, STILL. They could have also sorted the sound out. Mine pops and crackles just like this one, but it took 5,000 miles before it started to do it. LOL. Overall, not much to tempt me and I actually think my car looks better. I'm betting a Vorsprung will be £70k plus. LOL.

Besides the lack of RS3 badging this is a really good facelift overall, it looks WAY more aggressive 😍 I don’t get the hate for the steering wheel either, it’s not the best they’ve ever made but it’s still pretty clean in my book.
I think it looks a lot softer and cheaper. Especially with those horrible wheels and the front of it looks like the waffle I had for breakfast. Nah, I'm keeping my RS3 8Y for now, this facelift is an expensive step backwards.
Hopefully they bring it back to Canada. I loved my 2019 RS3. As it is no longer sold here in Canada I replaced my 2019 with a 2023 M2.
Front is okay, side profile doesnt look as inspiring and im just not a fan of how much valence takes up the trunk.

The rear is well done better then the previous 8y. Overall, I like it a lot. Needs 450 hp though.

Once the TT is gone, a compact 2 door coupe' ( ICE or mild hybrid) would be much desired .....And now even more so as Audi are joining F1 , sportiness must be reflected in the road models.

Glad I got a 2024, not a fan of the 2025. Theres to some functions on the 2024 that I thought I didn't like but after seeing what they did to the 2025 (steering wheel, shifter, steering wheel buttons, led speedometer, rear diffuser) I prefer the 2024 design, its much more aggressive overall.

Personally, I like this a lot more than the prefacelift. I could imagine buying this but not the prefacelift. I like the change in the front the most, even without the front badge and the worse Audi logo. To me, the new grill is just a lot better than the prefacelift.
Backend, I know many people hated the prefacelift fake black honeycomb strip. The facelift is better, but could be better if they made the diffuser less tall.
The new S3 sounds better with the akrapovich exhaust. Hope that is an option on this.
No it doesn't. You can't even spell it correctly. I have an RS3 8Y that has the optional Audi sport exhaust and with the valves open above 4,000 rpm it sounds way better than any S3 could, even with the optional Akrapovic.
Great, at least it doesn't look like a Hyundai with that grille.

Yeah, it sucks. Let's see how Audi implements it. The Mk8.5R kept the touch buttons despite 8.5 GTI/Golf getting physical buttons. From reviews, it does seem like they changed the sensitivity significantly to make it useable.

We've used cheaper materials and eliminated hard buttons. Audi going the wrong direction
First mod: Removing the updated RS3 badge and adding the old badge...
Exactly what I would do. But then I just seen the prices... UK price for the carbon sportback, £64,160. That's almost a ten grand increase from when the 8Y was launched. The carbon vorsprung is £68,650. Those are the package prices, so if add paint and any other options, potentially you'll be spending over £70k!

RS3 8V PA still the best RS3 out there - by far. The new Audi design language is just ugly af
8v was too soft, had no presence, poor handling and brakes, silly pop screen inside and if you park it up, no one would even notice it. Not to mention the crap driving position. I had one for 5 months and sold it. Got a TTRS and was a lot happier, now have an RS3 8Y, which is in another league to the 8v in every department. We get it though, you can't afford the new car. LOL.
@@mauricetoussaint7283 Sorry, if i hurt your feelings about your "dreamcar" obviously. Indeed i never owned a RS3 - just drived the 8V several times and the 8Y prefacelift once. That i dont like the all plastic grill front of the newer audi models is my personal opinion. Handling wise i haven't noticed any big differences, but as said, I've driven the latest RS3 version just once so cant really tell if it still has Audisteer or not. Handling was not better to me though. I switched from audi to porsche 3 years ago and im happy with it. So no worries, im not interested at all in buying a boring hatchback with no sound and the interiour plastic landscape of a honda ;).
Steering wheel looks like Cupra now 🙈 too bad that like usual no changes in power/torque :(

In the UK we don't get any options, black or black, so be grateful if you can option the red or green stitching.

@@q-tez1559 well maybe some do some don’t, we have 3 Audis (A1 & 2 A3) and all have sonos- they are 2021- 2023 models
B&O Advanced 3D is only available in premium cars like my 2024 Audi Exclusive RS6 Avant Performance. The rest gets crack.
