This camera is amazing, jumped the gun and bought it, Had a Canon R previously and oh my god the R6II Blows it out of the water. Low light performance is AMAZING...
I switched from a 5D Mark IV to the R6 Mark II because of the video quality, and the MUCH faster auto focus with the RF lenses. I'm super happy with the 24 - 70 2.8 USM L lense, and I'm planning on getting the 15 - 35 and the 70 - 200 2.8 as well, because of how amazing the friggin 24 - 70 is. I love this camera lense combo.
great review, as a photo only shooter, i noticed a huge difference in the tracking af compared to my r6, which was pretty amazing already. thanks for this video!
I'm planning on putting a deposit down on one of these bad boys this weekend, so am digesting every UA-cam review on it I can before then.... just for peace of mind lol. Great review from someone that's actually been using it for more than a day, much appreciated! Oh and that shirt, as cool as it is, and as much as I used to love Flock of Seagulls when I was a nipper.... ain't no T-SHIRT! lol. It's a short sleeved button up collared shirt. Just sayin :P
I haven't had a chance to sit down and look over the specs of the A7c II yet. Since I'm all in with canon it's hard for me to play on another platform. I will say I LOVE the R6 II. Best camera I have ever used for what I do.
Took a class for my R6mkii just to unerstand the new features having come from a 5D mki (shutter finally died 2022 I got my money worth :) WOW. It's a beast and its so FAST. The stuff these cameras do now and how fast they do it is insane. I wish I had this tech back in 2005.
As someone who has been happily in the "obsolete" DSLR camp for some time, I've finally decided that 2024 will be my year to add a mirrorless camera to my kit. After doing quite a bit of research, I decided the R6 Mk II will be the one (even as I make plans to pick up a 90D as well😁). All of my lenses are Canon EF or EF-S save for an old Tokina 19-35 that I've had for years, and Sigma's 150-600 Contemporary, which my wife got me for Christmas. I've learned that it's completely possible to use, say, my 100-400, with a 1.4x converter on an R-body, using the EF > RF mount. Not needing to buy a bunch more glass is a big factor, so, I'm officially saving my pennies to pick up the R6 Mk II, and really looking forward to it!
@@JaredHoyman Great to know. Looking forward to getting the camera in a couple of months and sharing my experiences with you. It's already in my B&H wish list!

Saves the life on the mechanical shutter. I might be totally miss understanding it tho…
I actually never thought of that. For inanimate that strike a pose that be a viable option. Any image quality issues with electronic shutter and long shutter speeds? I haven’t researched it.
@@JaredHoyman I have not run into any, and I do 5 brackets, longest of which be 4 stops overexposed. I just got them in today and I'm impressed with the design and practicality of having a usb-c built into the battery for on the go charging. I'll get a video out in the next few days on it.
These batteries with usb usually have less capacity since some space to hold the connector and the charging component. Also, they might not accept all types of currents allowed with usb c and would charge slower.
Battery drain does not happen in mine. I have kept it unused without airplane mode for more than a week, no battery drain. Maybe it's a quality control problem because I've seen others complain about battery drain, although I've not experienced it
The drain for me obviously was when I had airplane mode off while using the camera. I don't think I had issues with that mode draining my battery while it was off. That all being said...I rarely do remote shooting so I keep it off 99% of the time.
I love my R6 MK II (I still keep my original R6 as a B cam). I just wish we had All-I and 6K RAW internal.... it is a minor gripe but let's see what future firmware updates give us
Hello, how are we? A question when I turn on my camera in some configuration that has high definition, I get an announcement of the probability that the camera could turn off, that is normal, it appears on the R6 mark II, I think that when recording in high quality, that happens, I don't know.
Is it when you are shooting 4k 60 otlr 50? I get the usual warning with those frames per second. Have you always had that warning or did that happen with a firmware update?

Haha.. I started with the t2i, replaced it with the t3i, replaced it with the 60D, then the 6D. For seven years I’ve been shooting with two Canon 6D cameras. I didn’t want to upgrade for a long time. Till this day, the canon 6D suits most of my needs. But from all my shoots, I have developed a wish list and I finally upgraded to Canon’s R6 Mark II. The improved auto focus, dual card slot and low light performance sold me. I’m totally blown away by the quality of the RF series. I’d love to have more resolution but low light performance is way more important to me. Is there something on your wish list that would make you upgrade?
It is my favorite camera to date. I had the t2i, 6D then EOSR, R6 this is a huge upgrade from that camera. I can only imagine the shock factor from skipping a few generations to the R6ii.
OMG it’s mind blowing. I’m surprised Canon packed so much technology in a little box. The features speeds up my workflow tremendously. Unfortunately, there’s a new learning curve, but totally worth it. Thanks for the video, your user experience convinced me to upgrade. Sad thing about it. I still miss the old cameras. But I no longer have to carry a flash to focus
@@shaunmaddox I was the same way for awhile but you will get over the old cameras. It was more nostalgic for me. An end of an era but the mirrorless era is better.
I was the same, got the R6II and it's better as the A7IV was crippled with a 4k60 crop and also mediocre ergonomics and menus (where Canon has better ergos and menus) and the R6 II has better battery life.

Do you notice significant autofocus improvements? I find with the R6, it can be thrown off eye auto focus pretty easily (tree branches, architectural circles etc mistaken as eyes etc)
From whatni remember of my R6 the R6 II is better in autofocus. You also have options that if it doesn't see the subject it doesn't focus on background it just stays where it left off.
As a sports photographer I got excited about the R6 ii for its autofocus and 1.6 x crop mode (I need it because we shoot jpg for on-site print sales) but the inability to always use the electronic shutter nags at me constantly. I don’t want to wear out the mechanical shutter. Canon will release just about all their mid to high end mirrorless cameras with stacked sensors in the future, with no mechanical shutters, like Nikon have done with the Z8 and Z9. The only option for canon sports shooters who want mirrorless and don’t want to wear out the mechanical shutter, is the R3.
I would say if you are making good money in that field the ROI is still worth it. In my field I shoot around 5,000 photos a week because of bracketing and it pays for itself in 2 days.
