This screenshot represents one of the most powerful scene I have ever seen. I remember watching it back when I was younger on VHS..
This is about a man who feels, deep down, something is wrong. Everything, everybody around him is meant to show him everything is normal... but deep down he feels that it is not.
    (spoilers)
When he finally decides to escape, to trust his gut feeling, there is no way for him to tell if he just turned crazy or what. When this scene comes, when his boat crashes into the sky, when the shadow of his hand appears on the sky, when he can finally touch this false sky... he finally knows he was right all along. That you should trust your gut feeling. Very powerful scene indeed.

This makes me think of life...
    What's the meaning of it?
    What's our mission here?
    What do we do?
Why does all of this exist?
    What's after death?
    Will I be forgotten?
    Will I be loved?
    Is it worth it?
Even if you don't believe it, we will never... Understand the meaning of life, the answers from all kind of things we ask to ourselves.
Because life is not about finding the sense of it, but the enjoyment.
Have a wonderful life everyone and remember to love your people because.... There's always an end, there's an end that will drift all of us away no matter what we have done when we were alive.
And yes, it is normal that you may feel sad, that you may cry, our emotions are what make life a place with a meaning.

I am glad you are asking the questions. The same questions that torture us all, existential dread. But I tell you, for everything I am worth, without a shred of a doubt, there is meaning and purpose for your life. It is a straight and narrow way that few find. Let all who seek, find. Jesus Christ was everything he said he was, he died for us, to save us. Please do not judge him by false followers. He is living, and merciful, and kind. Ignore the dogmas of our time, or any preconceived notions or subliminal connotations associated with the Savior. Read the Bible for yourself, one of the four Gospels. Pray, fast, be loving, keep seeking and you will find there is great purpose for your life, and suddenly that massive hole in our hearts, in our souls, will fill.
All my love, and may all the Lord's blessings be upon you. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and this movie had a profound effect on me early on. And now it is part of my worship music. It reminds me of the day I found God, or rather God found me. I am a work in progress but I will not give up. What great things The Great I Am has to show us. Email me at anytime, kevblaha@hotmail.com. I would love to share any spiritual gifts that might comfort you. Stay strong, and even if you do not believe now, keep seeking. If you have a love for the truth than you will find Him, for Jesus is the truth. God bless.

@@tenacious645 I've searched my entire life brother, as have you. Nothing fills that hole in our heart. Drugs, pornography, women, "self improvement". All these things are fleeting. They have led me to suicidal thoughts and despondacy. But I tell you, my dear friend, He is the truth. Jesus said, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened. So I encourage you, keep seeking. We have heard many things of Jesus. But you have no excuse if you judge him by hypocrites, who do him lipservice only, they have their rewards. I pray that he will give your soul rest, that he will work on your heart, that he will show how he has been working on you. Please email me anytime: kevblaha@hotmail.com, I would love to speak about anything to do with Jesus. I do not judge and I would love to help you on your journey, and your concerns and questions will strengthen me as well. All my love from God above, prayers for you and family, God bless you and keep you and lead you to salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you note the "Name of music:" above, you'll see the original title of "Father Kolbe's Preaching." If you know the story of this man, Maximillian Kolbe, your emotions will be doubly impacted. He was a priest who resisted the Nazis and sacrificed his life for another (who I understand survived the camp and the war). Knowing this, I cry every time I listen to this piece. Oh, to be like that man. His whole life was was of humble sacrificial service to God and people. Whatever your beliefs, this man was inspiring.
This segment from the Wikipedia entry on him describes his climactic end:
After the outbreak of World War II, which started with the invasion of Poland by Germany, Kolbe was one of the few brothers who remained in the monastery, where he organized a temporary hospital. After the town was captured by the Germans, he was briefly arrested by them on 19 September 1939 but released on 8 December. He refused to sign the Deutsche Volksliste, which would have given him rights similar to those of German citizens, in exchange for recognizing his ethnic German ancestry. Upon his release he continued work at his friary, where he and other friars provided shelter to refugees from Greater Poland, including 2,000 Jews whom he hid from German persecution in the Niepokalanów friary. Kolbe received permission to continue publishing religious works, though significantly reduced in scope. The monastery continued to act as a publishing house, issuing a number of anti-Nazi German publications.
On 17 February 1941, the monastery was shut down by the German authorities. That day Kolbe and four others were arrested by the German Gestapo and imprisoned in the Pawiak prison. On 28 May, he was transferred to Auschwitz as prisoner 16670.
Stained glass window by Alois Plum depicting Edith Stein and Maximilian Kolbe
Continuing to act as a priest, Kolbe was subjected to violent harassment, including beating and lashings. Once he was smuggled to a prison hospital by friendly inmates. At the end of July 1941, one prisoner escaped from the camp, prompting SS-Hauptsturmführer Karl Fritzsch, the deputy camp commander, to pick 10 men to be starved to death in an underground bunker to deter further escape attempts. When one of the selected men, Franciszek Gajowniczek, cried out, "My wife! My children!", Kolbe volunteered to take his place.
According to an eyewitness, an assistant janitor at that time, in his prison cell, Kolbe led the prisoners in prayer. Each time the guards checked on him, he was standing or kneeling in the middle of the cell and looking calmly at those who entered. After they had been starved and deprived of water for two weeks, only Kolbe remained alive. "The guards wanted the bunker emptied, so they gave Kolbe a lethal injection of carbolic acid. Kolbe is said to have raised his left arm and calmly waited for the deadly injection. He died on August 14.

    Who are you?
I am the creator of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to millions.

    Was nothing real?
YOU were real. That's what made you so good to watch. Listen to me, Truman. There's no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. Same lies. The same deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know yourself.

This movie was a masterpiece, for many reasons, it’s great acting, it’s original visuals, the amazing soundtrack, but also the subtle real genre of this movie hidden behind the comedy, in reality, it’s very much dramatic, imagine learning everything and everyone you knew was fake and that your whole life meant nothing, it was just a show for someone else’s pleasure. The fact I first saw the movie in the city right next to the location where it was filmed also helps me remember this movie very fondly

this scene really does show how truman really became a "true man". For so long he wasn't allowed to grow as a person but in the end took control of his own life, defying all odds against him. When all seemed lost, he found freedom and did it all his own, this wasn't just the story of human realizing his world is fake, this is the story of a boy becoming a man, in control of his own life. truely a masterpiece and one of Jim Carrey's finest, he really can do more than comedy and this is the proof.

C'est la vrai magie du cinéma lorsque la musique, le scénario, le réalisateur et les acteurs sont au même niveau. Cette image illustre bien le film.

The majority didn´t understand a thing from this movie true purpose, It takes commitment to achieve anything u desire in life although everyone will try to refrain u from doing it, but u should stay focused and believe on what you truly are and not what others say to u, It means that life conspire against us at our down moments to make you believe that you´re fine in your current situation and that following your hearts is something not worthy and that the brain who decided what´s important for us, wake up people our hearts down´t only pump blood but it is a living being within us that gives signals about our environment too.
To all who cannot see all this points in the movie, watch it again but now with a different approach
    Enjoy u all

You clearly didn't get it. That's how we as a society would really behave. As soon as something is over we look elsewhere immediately to fill that void. The movie just adds a slight comedic spin on the last scene.

    • @christopherwheatley3869
      @christopherwheatley3869 4 роки тому +6

I think the very last scene is more important than maybe first evident. If you believe as some do, that television is some kind of prison , a source of control if you will. The film acts as a metaphor for this medium, Truman escapes the prison, but the viewers are still trapped within. Art imitating life.
Or maybe it is just an ironic poke at how ultimately shallow and fickle we are as individuals. Or a statement about how today’s headline are tomorrow’s litter box liners. I think any time a film or book bring up the themes of the nature of power, especially with elements of big brother it automatically raises more questions than answers.

I know you think "you are sure of this" now but that's exactly how I was feeling before I began to question this neutrally. I am not a flat-earther but I am neither a ball-earther there are too many things in the "official" system that escapes the most basic common sense and I need this to be cleared for myself.
