You're a lifesaver! I'm autistic and I really hate crew necks and those thick collared t-shirts. They're so uncomfortable and I'm always frantically pulling at them. I watched this, practiced on a good few old ones at first and then did 3 of my almost-favorite tees that I just couldn't wear.... NOW they're favorites!!! It looks good and cleanly cut, LOOKS a lot more flattering too! Thank you
oh my gosh i love to hear this! i agree that it is more comfy AND looks better. I am so happy to hear this helped you feel more comfortable!! thank you for telling me :)
THANK YOU! I hate long videos with nonsense before they get to the point. You are clear, concise, and easy to understand! Thank you! And a second ENORMOUS THANK YOU!!! I have sensory issues related to ADHD and ASD. The sensory issues are GINORMOUS with clothing and I have HATED tshirts for most of my life. I have a drawer full of amazing tshirts that I put on, wear for 10 seconds, then take off and throw in the laundry, hoping next time is will be soft enough that it won’t bug me. You just helped me put on a shirt that I am totally feeling today (it says ‘f-- gluten’) and in less time than it took me to type this, I AM WEARING IT! Thank you for your wise advice. ❤
I needed to watch this. When I was a teenager I cut things so crazily but it was OK when I was real young. This us a more polished look.Im going to do this right now.
Thank you for doing such a good video. Nice and short, not a lot of unnecessary talking, to the point and filmed in a way I could see exactly what you were doing. I just cut my tshirt neck and sleeves and I love it!! I have a drawer full of tshirts I never wear because I hate constrictive clothes. They are all going to get a Cinerella Sew makeover, and I'll be wearing them all the time now.
Awesome! You would think more companies would just start making t-shirts like this. I like my shirts to look cute and i hate neck suffocation. So thank you for saving my next shirt. I have messed up far too many times cutting them incorrectly.
I never comment on UA-cam videos. But I had to comment here. Thank you!!! I’ve tried to do this with other shirts and never could get it right. Your video instructions were easy to follow and made the perfect fit! I have several men’s shirts that are boxy and not flattering at all. I took 60 seconds and cut one of them following this video and it turned out SO cute! I also cut the bottom hem off to give it a slight rolled up look like the sleeves. And wow! I love it! There are so many shirts I want but don’t buy because the collar is so tight and close to my neck. Or the sleeves are too boxy. Your video has made it so I can now buy any tshirt and make it into the style I like. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video! I bought a T-shirt online that was supposed to be a form fitting girlie t, but the shirt I got is a boxy T shirt with a thick crew neck. So instead of returning, I doctored it up, and it's cute now!
The fact that this worked even though the sewing scissors were incredibly dull is magic. I always had the collar crooked before learning this technique. Thank you!

Question, my son has a band tee that's a little too long. It's 100% cotton. If he cuts the bottom hem off, will it fray? Also really excited to try this!
it will not fray! go for it!! cotton is knit so it does not fray :)
@@cinderellasew thank you for your reply!! We're gonna give it a try 😊
How did you get the sleeves of the shirt to roll up at the edge? Mine just stays flat even if I try to roll the edge.
I was looking for this, my question is what about the bottom , I guess we cut it too to complete the look right? 🤔
you could cut it, or leave it, up to you! you get to be the designer :) but I agree that cutting it does complete the look, good call ;)
Cinderella Sew thank you :)
Brb, cutting every T-shirt I own
yasssssss!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
how is it that the cut edges don't frey? I know you say the sleeve will roll, does the neck also? Thanks for any clarification.
The neck does not roll as much but certainly does not fray.. It’s because cotton is a knit fabric! I know it’s surprising but it’s true!
Love the process but, is there a finish to the cut edge other than the fold after stretching
yes! here is how you can sew down the collar with hand sewing: ua-cam.com/video/SIw67nv8o7A/v-deo.html
How do you replace the band on the neck line with the new scoop design?
The band won’t be big enough to replace but you can sew the neckline down if you want!

I also cut the bottom hem off because it was kinda tight and it's rolling up, too..sometimes too much. Thinking I have to probably hem it a little again to stop the roll? thanks!
yeah the cotton will naturally roll a bit. you can hem with this video if you want:
ua-cam.com/video/EfsCU-yJVaA/v-deo.html
@Cinderella Sew excellent, thanks! I love thr way they fit now with the cut collar and sleeves..so much more flattering!
Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for!
Do tops last for a shorter time when u do this? I just did this but would love to hear from someone who done this lots and ages ago if they last ok?
yes, i certainly do this LOTS, to every shirt I get, and they last just as long. as I enjoy wearing them 1000000 times more :) great question!
Thank you for easing my mind!
Will the sleeves roll like this if it's 100% cotton??
yes! its how the fabric is made, which is a knit. so it will still work :)
And if I dont want to roll up the sleeves after cutting it, its anything that I can do?
because its cotton it will roll a bit, but not much. just don't pull it or stretch it out and it won't roll as much!
Do you have a vid where you cut slits into the sleeves, sorry I am new to this and can't find it 🤦🏼♀️
like this? hope that helps, if not let me know what you mean! sounds cool. check: ua-cam.com/video/HGVr4FDqDU4/v-deo.html

I feel like I need better scissors. What kind of scissors do you use?
Definitely use fabric scissors! You can get them at dollar store or anywhere
Thank u 😊

Cinderella Sew I just did this and it looks so much better!!
loved tour video! liked n subscribed also turned on the notification bell xx stay in touch
yaya thanks girl! ;)
Can I do this to a stretchy polyester shirt?
yes! you might want to test a little piece of fabric on the inside seam to make sure it doesn't fray when cut
@@cinderellasew I was able to do this! And it worked good. I started by cutting a little less (in case it didn’t work I could just fold it and hide it).
Thank you for your video and reply!
Do you have one for an off shoulder t-shirt?
How would I do this for a v neck into off the shoulder?
I would use the boat neck shape and just start cutting below the V. I hope that works!
