I cannot believe people will complain about so many things, it's just crazy. As an Ecuadorian I thank you for choosing my country to live, and for loving and respecting my people the way you do. It was manifested when you and your friends from Olon distributed groceries to the people in need, I will never forget that act of kindness. As far of sticking out, of course you will no matter what clothes you wear, so don't listen to the negative people, they always find ways to be miserable and want the rest of us to join them. You guys are a beautiful couple that are generous enough to share your experiences with the world. Keep up the good work and God bless you.
Some people need to put others down to feel good about themselves. They are not even conscious of it most of the time. I had to shut off comments on one of my youtube sites due to some kids saying negative things about my students songs and music videos from my songwriting program. The human condition I guess.
I can't believe some people would label you as "commies" for avoiding bankruptcy! You made the best decision by moving down here. Thanks for choosing Ecuador and sharing your experiences about my country. It's not perfect, it's not for everyone, but it offers much things for the ones willing to open their minds and see a different part of the world.

Guys, I really enjoyed the video. I have been watching your releases since early 2019. In my opinion, the MAIN reason you have so much staying power and have grown is your SMILEs and your personalities. You two are genuine. Sorry you left Cuenca, but I understand why you left. My wife and I bought a new place there last May. Keep up the good work.

You do a great job. Folks are generally just way critical and up tight. They are the ones that most need getting on Ecuador time. Health care in the U.S. has become an extortion racket. My Medicare Supplement went up 20% each year for 2 years now.
I love you positivity even when talking about people's complaints. I am watching now after my 3rd major surgery this year and you both have helped me get through this difficult time. I can not wait to get better and start my own unconventional life. Thank you for everything you to, you are inspirational.
My husband and I watched a couple of your videos and can’t believe the stuff people complain about! We were born and raised in Puerto Rico and have been living in Illinois since 1986. It is really hard to believe many of the comments you were addressing were actually posted, and I'd like to chime in now 14 months after you published this. Don't change A THING. Thanks for sharing all those great videos about Ecuador. I came to Canada with my family but we were born and raise in Ecuador, we miss it with all our heart. So we have very similar but at the same time opposite stories. I am so proud that you contribute to Ecuador for being a better place, you are a great add to Ecuador. I really enjoy each of your videos, it is like to transport us back there. Don't pay attention to people who is not contributing with anything, just continue enjoying life. We would love to meet you someday in one of our visits to Ecuador.
You two are a pleasure to watch and you provide great insights and practical information about Ecuador. I traveled to Ecuador years ago and loved it! Very educational and appreciate how you enjoy life and are comfortable in your own skin! I hope you keep it up!
I love your videos. I am from Ecuador, living in the US, and with your videos I enjoy seeing my country from a interesting perspective, appreciating the differences. Thank you for posting these videos about your staying in my country
By the way, today, October 1st is "día del pasillo ecuatoriano" I think "pasillo" is a genre that ecuadorians feel proud of.. you were wondering about ecuadorian music, well I think pasillo is our "country".. We have hundreds of them, unfortunately these new generations don't listen to them like our parents or grandparents used to... If you are curious, you can listen to duets like Miño - Naranjo, Benitez y Valencia, Mendoza - Suasti, or singers like Julio Jaramillo, Eduardo Brito, and a current one, Juan Fernando Velasco. Kind regards! 😁
To the trolls. get out of the basement, take a shower and find your own happy life. I love your videos. your fashion and your smile are just perfect for this Ecuadorian man. keep enjoying our culture and beautiful country.
The first thing I noticed when watching your videos was your natural smiles. It's obvious you are down-to-earth people that are happy. Your sincerity shows!
You both have beautiful smiles. Amelia looks great with her natural hair color, and she looks no where near 52! I really thought she was in her early 40's. Your Patreon service is the best I've ever been subscribed to. Very glad to hear it's grown almost 50% since I joined. You both work very hard at this Expat community. You should be very proud of the all the content, advice and love of Ecuador you share with all of us!
A & JP...I thought the 'excetera' was a bit of a play on words, as in expat. As for Ecuadorian music, we were in La Libertad last Feb and March when the Covid 19 was really getting going. We managed a repat flight back to Toronto (Mar 27) and had to hire a private ride to get to Quito (8 + hours). For most of the ride it was Latino and North American music. The driver also had a seemingly endless supply of Christmas songs in Spanish...oh the memories!
I can't believe people give you a hard time about the way you dress (I myself wear hawaiian shirts every now and then), the music in your videos, or your smiles! I'm from Ecuador and I really like what you're doing. Is nice looking at your own country from a different and fresh perspective. Keep it up
Please pay no attention to any comment saying you got something wrong about Ecuador. This Ecuadorean has seen many of your videos and approves. You are being true to your personal experience and that is what reflects in your videos. Good work!
It always interests me that people comment on others looks. I think Amelia looks great. She is a beautiful, young (always relative and given my age she is very young), woman. The color of hair doesn't make age and doesn't make the person. Do what feels right to you. Know that most people will think you look great.
Hey Ya’ll, greetings from north Georgia. I love my country as well, but that doesn’t mean someday soon, that I won’t travel around the globe for an extended length of time and ultimately retire in some other country. The positive way you conduct yourselves over there, I am sure results in positive impressions of Norte America overall. You do a great job and don’t forget you have a great silent majority who love your work! Anyone making the effort to produce INFORMATIVE UA-cam videos deserves many thanks! Ignore the naysayers. Greg
I am so impressed that you guys are willing to address all of these comments. Most of the critiques are very minor, but shocked that folks would seriously criticize you about your hair, your clothes, and your tattoo. JP - good luck fitting into any indigenous clothes, we can't even find an XL t-shirt for my husband or size 10 shoes for my dad! You are some of the best people out there in the internet. Thanks for the updates and excetera. Haha.

You are beautiful couple and highly spirited couple. your smile is the envy of many people so is your stress fee life. Therefore those who make odd comments barely know how to respect themselves because they don't respect others. If someone doesn't like how you speak, dress, smile en how you look, that's their problem. Keep it up, you inspired my wife, me and thousand of people just how you are: charming captivating couple. We will see you in Ecuador.
Guys, please just keep what you are doing and ignore the haters. Some people just need to get a life and it may be that they are jealous of yours! Keep up the good work!
I am amazed at what people complain about with your videos. People are so judgmental. I tried to make a video about a memorial trip and I could not even start! It was so much work. It really made me appreciate the work you put into these videos. Thanks.
I love that you guys are always smiling that let's me know that you guys are having fun and that you're comfortable with your leaving arrangements. I was born in Ecuador but moved to the states very young and every time that I have the chance to go back and visit I smile every single moment that I spend there. I'm glad that Ecuador has met your expectations and thanks for spreading the word around, I hope that when I retire I could go back and enjoy my beautiful country....Keep spreading the joy!!
I just discovered your channel a few months ago and, wow! Please don’t be too self-conscious about the comments. Let them be them and you be you. I think you do a wonderful job. The hair, the tattoo, the spelling? Fuggetaboutit. Your motives are pure and you are doing your best to inform others about what a great place Ecuador is to live. I discovered your videos about seven or eight months ago and I watch them regularly. I’m so sorry you endure awful comments from people. You are among the kindest, nicest people on You Tube. I love your positivity and the warmth of your videos. I suppose being ‘out there’ means some of negative comments will come out, and this reflects fully back to the ones who make those comments (who complains about smiles!?!?). Collectively, now more than ever, we must work together to spread kindness and you are both an inspiration.
Amelia and JP, you guys are so nice! As an Ecuadorian family living almost two decades in the US, we have experienced both cultures and we think that the things you supposedly got wrong are either not wrong at all or are irrelevant - 'excetera'. We think you guys are genuine, good people, and your videos are fun, informative and great the way they are. By the way, my wife loves Amelia's hair better now than a couple of years ago.
Thank you for putting out videos! You've both helped me and my wife in our move over here, so much good information. Always looking forward to seeing more from you
You two are great. No one else has videos about Ecuador that appeals to we potential expats. You are honest, etcetera 😄. Thank you for your varied content too. It can’t be easy. Again, well done.
It never fails to amaze me that people can be so petty and judgemental -- and just plain toxic -- while sitting in comfortable anonymity behind their screens. People have issues with Patreon? They know they don't have to join, right? Your videos are free. Enjoy or move on, people! The patrons are there because they get value from your channel and want to contribute: they know that your time, equipment and expertise cost money! As for the rest... Commies, huh. There are many worse things you can be, and I'm willing to bet those critics of yours check some of those "worse things" boxes. *eyeroll* You're doing just fine. Try not to let the trolls get to you.
During the summer we have the Humboldt current which is cold that is why our summer is fresh and cloudy specially near the sea, but in Guayaquil is lovely, sunny but fresh. Then during the winter we have El Niño current which is warm and that brings a lot of rain and heat, so as you can tell that sea currents greatly influence the climate of Ecuador. You guys are awesome!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ haters are gonna hate hate, so shake it off 🤣🤣🤣
Amelia and JP, I want to thank you for the video's that you put out, My husband and I watch them regularly and enjoy them very much. Not only are they entertaining but so very full of information. We are wanting to move to another country ourselves and have talked about many places and we have taken Ecuador into great consideration. We have began shifting some things around in out lives to begin the process of the "big move" I truly feel like your videos have given us both the courage to make a move. I am so glad to see that you take so many complaint's with such a positive attitude, gosh I hate to hear of all complaining you deal with. Please keep up the great work.
Yup, hot and cold also depends on where you are. Your chilly "summer" on the coast is when it's warmer and drier in the highlands. And "winter" rainy season in the highlands is colder, but hotter in the coastal region. Your videos are just fine, music is fine, and we love your friendly and positive attitudes. Your smiles are wonderful and you look great! The people who criticize your looks are just superficial and don't have much to offer themselves. It is refreshing to see Ecuador through your eyes. I am an expat who grew up in Ecuador. Please don't change a thing. "The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens." We all live on one same planet, and we are all part of the same human race. Borders are artificial barriers created by humans. Our ancestors migrated to North America, and we chose to migrate here for different reasons. Love your spirit of adventure and open-mindedness. Keep it up. Like you said, life's too short to listen to the haters.

your smiles are beautiful, I don't care how you pronounce words as long as I can hear them and Amelia your hair is looking good. thank you for your fun and informative unconventional videos. ♥️
I couldn’t believe the negative comments you received. My wife and I enjoy your video’s very much and think you handled it very well. We’re from Canada and we are also heading south when my wife retires. And J.P. I love your shirts and Amelia great tattoo and good for u for not colouring ur hair. Keep up the great work we look forward to seeing you in future videos.
I started watching you guys a little while ago and enjoy your video’s . I commend you guys for making the move to another country and being able to support yourselves , I wish you well with your back JP . You represent USA very well , keep up the good work .
Thanks! Get well soon! 😊💚👍
My husband and I watched a couple of your videos and can’t believe the stuff people complain about! We were born and raised in Puerto Rico and have been living in Illinois since 1986. I am 58 and my hubby is 61 and are thinking about retiring outside the USA..thanks for the info and your hard work on keeping us informed about Ecuador! May God continue to bless and protect you both 😊
I think you're gorgeous Amelia, the grey is most dignified. JP, you are gorgeous too!! An honest to goodness Ecuadorian power couple...you guys are incredibly selfless giving all of that money to the hungry and I think you come across very genuine. Anyhoo, have a good day!
Your hair looks so healthy now. You look beautiful! (I'm going natural as well)
Hola Amelia y JP, soy ecuatoriana y vivo en Fl me encanta lo que hacen, siempre que los veo sonrio al ver lo alegres y optimistas q son, no cambien nunca
Just found you guys a month or so ago and have been working our way through your substantial back catalog. It is really hard to believe many of the comments you were addressing were actually posted, and I'd like to chime in now 14 months after you published this. Don't change A THING. You are lovely and wonderful people, and if our slow travel plans for the future ever coincide with where you are, we will surely offer buy you a mead or two of an evening. Thank you for everything you do.
This video series wouldn't be the same without you two as the stars and creators. And I'm interested in the American view because I'm in NYC so please keep on producing them as you feel best expresses your vision. Salud y amor!
I like the way you are: Happy and authentic. Please don't change.
The first thing I noticed when watching your videos was your natural smiles. It's obvious you are down-to-earth people that are happy. Your sincerity shows!
No need for apologies. Don't change a thing.
I love your music choices! (I even added a few to my collection because of some you played like “This Summer Breeze” and “A Little Bit of Faith”.❤️)
Ignore everyone's statements...just be yourselves!
@Neroste Veragua I'm not sure what that has to do with people making rude comments to anyone. Can you elaborate, please?
You both have beautiful smiles. Amelia looks great with her natural hair color, and she looks no where near 52! I really thought she was in her early 40's. Your Patreon service is the best I've ever been subscribed to. Very glad to hear it's grown almost 50% since I joined. You both work very hard at this Expat community. You should be very proud of the all the content, advice and love of Ecuador you share with all of us!
Thanks! We love our Patreon community! It’s so nice to get to know our viewers on a deeper level! 😊👍
Keep it up
You guys are a lovely and fun couple keep making us laugh I really enjoyed all your videos. Ecuadorian peaple loves you thank you for all you do...
Greg
I smile a bunch tooooo.... I had a guy break up with me because I smiled too much.... Don't stop smiling!! 😊 🎉 😊
Judy Kline His lost keep smiling!
I smile so much people think I am up to no good.
Haha.
Guys !!!
Listen to me ,I’m Ecuadorian and I love your vids and over your music and in any case you want to use any Latin music anything is good but regueton
Loved this video!
People are always so quick to judge without understanding or trying to understand the history or mentality behind why things are done, not done, EXcetra, EXcetra...
We had some good laughs, again thank you.
Keep going!
You guys have earned all the right to smile as wide and as long as you can. Your positive attitude toward life is contagious.
Thanks.
Check "pasillo" music. This is traditional Ecuadorian music.
But they are not royalty free.
After plowing through so many awful channels on UA-cam, you two are a breath of authentic fresh air; I almost feel like I know you personally! Please know that for everyone who makes a nasty comment, there are a bunch of us out here who really enjoy and appreciate what you do. Keep being you!
Keep smiling!
I love that you took your viewers seriously and addressed their comments. But never forget, people have to have their opinions. You are doing great.
Greetings from New York, I enjoy every video, thanks a lot.
This is QuitoJoe.I have been watching your stuff for a while now and enjoy it. Your critics seem to have a lot of time on their hands. Still, listen to everyone but negative comments should be viewed as nothing more than fine sandpaper for gentle shaping. Nothing big needs to change. I prefer the mountains to the coast as the cool weather seems to really agree with me. Keep up the good work guys...
Good grief! People have too much time on their hands if they are complaining about these kinds of things!!Silly!
They’re not perfect but who’s perfect? It’s the imperfections that make your videos so warm and welcoming. Keep plowing ahead.
We love you guys. We interested in tranquilo live. No city no traffic, so help is amazing 😉
I'm from California, USA and I don't blame you for leaving. Everything has gone crazy in prices and healthcare. Have fun and enjoy your life and don't listen to the trolls. They are just jealous!!!🤗😊😁 I LOVE YOUR PRETTY SMILES!!!
I would just LOVE to meet the scrooge that left the one (so far) "thumbs down"! You guys are the real deal - and my Ecuadorian wife and I would love to meet you for café next time you are in Quito! Keep up the Good Work..........
Thank you for sharing your advice and your experience in 🇪🇨. I am from Guayaquil and my boyfriend is from USA ( white, tall, bold guy). I came across your videos while trying to show him how life is in Ecuador. Your videos are very informative and holistic. I am happy it worked for both of you.The happy life you are living is definitely transmitted through your videos.. I enjoy them. And I LOVE seeing your smiles.. THANK YOU.😃
Do your own thing! People r jealous! You both r so sweet! And very brave to go to another country!
Thank you both for taking time out of your day to share your journey with us. I appreciate it. Please don't let people steal you're joy. It's wonderful to see and hear your videos. Amelia and JP you both have great attitudes. I love people that are happy and blessed. I've learned so much about moving to Ecuador. Your adventures are very informative. Continue to share and live your Best Life!
You kids do a great job...btw I love Amelia’s hair (such a cute lady)...love your videos. Keep up the great work. Blessings.
You can make some people happy some of the time, but you can't make everyone happy all the time. You two are awesome!! Keep up the great videos. Your smiles, your humor, everything you do is to inform future Ecuadorian Expats....and we love you for it. Don't let the naysayers get to you. For every negative there are thousands of positives. We have learned so much from your videos. You are appreciated. You are amazing!!! Answer D, all the above. Thanks very much for what you do.
Never respond to rude trolls, .
Love you two, all your videos - the music and everything! Come on people- just sit back and enjoy the beautiful and selfless creative energy- especially THE SMILES!
Picky people 😡😡😡
You both are great and fun to follow
I love how non-defensive you are, how you explain things as though people are asking honest questions rather than being silly complainers. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for being you! Keep on smiling 😃
Thank you!
You shouldn't worry about pleasing everyone - as long as you keep pleasing me. ;-)
Collectively, now more than ever, we must work together to spread kindness and you are both an inspiration.
amelia te ves hermosa, no hagas caso a los trolls. and keep been yoursefls
By the way, my wife loves Amelia's hair better now than a couple of years ago.
you guys are doing fine, hope you aren’t taking to seriously about someone of those out touch comments!
Thank you for putting out videos! You've both helped me and my wife in our move over here, so much good information. Always looking forward to seeing more from you
You guy's are a beautiful and joyful couple. Lot's of good information. LOL.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ haters are gonna hate hate, so shake it off 🤣🤣🤣
Some of the comments are stupid you guys are doing great
Yes I do love your smiles, do not change THANKS
The only thing Amelia 's hair needs is her tiara!
Lol
Amelia and JP, I want to thank you for the video's that you put out, My husband and I watch them regularly and enjoy them very much. Not only are they entertaining but so very full of information. We are wanting to move to another country ourselves and have talked about many places and we have taken Ecuador into great consideration. We have began shifting some things around in out lives to begin the process of the "big move" I truly feel like your videos have given us both the courage to make a move. I am so glad to see that you take so many complaint's with such a positive attitude, gosh I hate to hear of all complaining you deal with. Please keep up the great work.
hello!
You guys are great. Love your hair, love your no hair, love your smiles, and your tattoo is tasteful.
I’m an Ecuadorian/US American and I don’t care what people say, I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND I LOVE YOUR “FAKE SMILES”. Keep it up guys you’re amazing.
I felt so bad to hear that people complained about so many things. Some personal comments were so rude. I just want to say that we really enjoy your channel. My husband and I are considering moving abroad in a few years and we find your information great. Your personalities come out in your videos making them fun and interesting. You have made us want to check out Ecuador as an option (as we were set on Costa Rica). Thanks for great content...keep it up and PLEASE IGNORE ridiculous comments.
Hi Amelia & JP, my wife and I thank you extremely for publishing your videos about the way of life in Ecuador in so many aspects, we are ecuadorians living in NY for more than 45 years and we are very proud to be ecuadorians, have invested back home as well as here, we are about to take an early retirement in about 2-3 years and go back home to live permanently or half time in Cuenca & Salinas, we share your videos with many friends that aren't ecuadorians and they love it, PLEASE DON'T LET THE NEGATIVE RESPONSES GET TO YOU , I KNOW THEY WILL MAKE YOU STRONGER AND FULL OF ENTHUSIASM & POSITIVISM, I'm glad you are getting pay for this, as a matter of fact hopefully soon we'll get a better President, Government and the Ministerio de Turismo should encourage and give all the necessary tools to support people like you for promoting my Country in a positive way and the realistic way Ecuador is and for free, SO PLEASE KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB YOU ARE DOING
