Interesting video! I used to run XC/TF in high school about 7 years ago. Off and on running since, but the lack of structure/ accountability (and traveling for work) hasn’t allowed me to stay consistent. One question I have is about the heart rate. You mentioned it is a decent proxy for figuring out effort and threshold pace… but my HR even on easy runs is high. Over the summer I got to running more consistently, where I was running 6 mile (long) runs at 10 min pace, which should have been easy. But my HR was never below 165 if I maintained the effort. Which is more than 75% max HR. Any advice for this?
I should mention that I got an actual HR monitor to measure accurately. I was interested in implementing the low mileage threshold training according to the let’s run thread on it. It was simple to structure, depending on just sub-threshold runs and easy runs (one long run at easy pace). But how do I know what threshold pace is? Maybe because I haven’t been consistent, using HR is unreliable? What would suggest I do

@@zachkennedy8812 Have you had your max HRT tested to make sure your zones are accurate?
