'no time to eat' is a ridiculous excuse. You only need five minutes for a meal. If you have time to drink coffee and smoke a cigarette, you have enough time for two meals.
It’s hard to eat a meal in 5 minutes...I struggle to eat fast so if I don’t have at least 15-20 minutes to eat I rather not instead of having to shove a meal in
It's also not good to eat that fast, you have to chew your food cuz I notice some people who struggle with weight don't take the time to chew which makes your brain think you're eating less than you actually are putting in your body.
@@ShatteredDiscoBall You don't have to eat a full meal in those 5mins. A Man of his age and stature need more than 2000. He needs atleast 2,200. Grade school children pretty much eat the same amount of calories as adults. They just usually burn it off faster than adults do.
Children and teens are still growing so they need calories to not just survive but also additional calories to form their body, bones, organs, etc. whereas an adult human is already fully formed so adults only need to eat for daily functioning/survival.

@@jewelsjelico9567 If you google Charles William Cook you can find his obituary. I did so because I rooted for him after I saw this episode. “We would become a custom to having junk food because it’s cheaper.” Thats is sad but true in America, if the government helped lower the prices of healthy foods it WOULD save some people’s lives.
@@Thowslemons it can be sometimes. But lets say you have pizza one night, it would be a lot cheaper to buy a pre made one or just order a slice. If i where to cook one I would need to but pre made dough(assuming I'm not making the dough completely from scratch) pizza sauce, cheese and toppings. That would easily go up to 20 dollars versus buying a pre made one for about 10 dollars. Of course some things are easier to just cook, but the reality for lots of lower income family's if buying pre made meals is a lot cheaper even though they can be unhealthier
@@Hi-bd9vb there are many meals I can make that can feed a family of four for less than $10 and very healthy. You are comparing the cost of junk food to junk food, the argument is that it is more expensive to eat healthy home cooked meals than to eat out at fast food and that's not true. when I was absolutely broke, I would spend $25-$50 a week for groceries for my husband and I (in the bay area mind you). That was probably the most healthy we've ever eaten. If we were to eat out one time at McDonald's it would be $18 for two meals (two drinks, two burgers, two fries), that's 36-72% of our budget for the entire week spent on one meal. It was 100% cheaper to eat at home. I would also consider premade crust an expensive convenience item. I was not rich enough to get fat off of fast food.
I don't live there but the other day I saw a video about how people living in poor neighborhoods hardly even have access to healthier food while being surrounded by all kinds of fast food joints. And I notice that more times than not, the superizer american guest seems to come from an underprivileged background. So yeah, it's definitely a systematic problem.
I think this pair was the best match for each other and the whole time they were so honest and open about each other's shortcomings. Yet not rude or offensive the whole time. They also seem the most open to the change and I wish them both the great success. 💜

Even though I used to watch these in the peak of my ED, looking at the way the results go after they leave the feeding clinic I can tell their diet plans are healthy and about very gradual change, no incredibly drastic weight losses or gains.
I like Dougie's voice/accent. Julie seems so sweet and I'm sad that she feels she has to hide her pain behind that wonderful smile 😞 I hope they're both doing well.

@@burner_account1313 wait who r we talking about
'no time to eat' is a ridiculous excuse. You only need five minutes for a meal. If you have time to drink coffee and smoke a cigarette, you have enough time for two meals.
I used to use that bullshit excuse. I replaced my coffee with a protein shake and the ciggy with a banana. I know it’s not great but it’s a start.
Good for you.
He could pack a bag of raw nuts, hardboiled eggs or some veggies/fruit, & snack while waiting for his coffee instead of smoking the cigarette. The several short coffee/cig breaks he takes can easily be replaced with snack breaks. No need to rush a full meal while still remaining sustained over a busy shift

Julie is so sweet. Wish them the best.
I’m suffering from binge eating disorder since I’m 11 but I didn’t knew anything about it. When I was 14 my mum died unexpectedly and my eating habit getting worse. I became panic attacks and began to harm myself. Now I’m 16 and in therapy I’m diagnosed with binge eating disorder since 3 months and I’m beginning to understand myself more and more. So stay strong you can do it. 😋 And excuse my English but I’m not that good so far.Because I’m from Germany
WoelkchenEnte I’m glad you are reaching out. You can do it. I believe in you.
I hope you are doing well on your self-care journey 🤗
I hope you are doing well on your self-care journey 🤗
Keep strong and when you feel a binge coming on, call a friend or walk around the block. So sorry that you lost your mom.
Ich wünsche dir alles Gute und eine gute Besserung :) Du schaffst das!!!
Dougie saying that he thought Julie might be his swap partner was really sweet to me for some reason. They're both lovely, beautiful, warm people.
How sad to see that the man in Tennessee passed at such a young age, and with a young son. He seemed like a really genuine guy.
Christy he died!!!
😞 springhill-memorial.com/book-of-memories/3054602/Cook-CharlesWilliam/obituary.php
He was only 33. That's so very sad.
That’s crazy because his wife said that in the show she was concerned for him and because they have a young son. 🥺
Edit: her voice at 13:16
Saaaaaaaad
My heart broke for Julie. She seems so lovely. I wish her well.xxx
This young man was like a son to the lady. And he's so nice. A healing balm to her soul.
do they tell them to compare arm sizes or is that just something they do naturally ? 😂😂😂 . I wanna know !
Mirr Baby I know it seems like they all do it!
The real questions being asked 😂
Idk
I have no way of knowing but I feel like it's natural! I have memories of friends wanting to check my arm against theirs. Idk if it's because I was quite gangly in my younger years or because I am extremely pale 😂
I would love an update on the two after a year or so. They are both so sweet. Julie is so open, vulnerable, sweet and adorable.
Where is the update?! 😭
I've had an eating disorder since I was 16 (I'm 38 now). I've been 113 at 5'8" Most people don't realize how big of a problem it is and how the people around them don't know. I can say nobody around me knows it but I know it all started when had my now ex-husband told me I was fat and then my mom had cancer then died 3 months later . I deal with this problem daily and only pray to God to help me. People don't realize how serious this is until you live it.
Nicole Edwards I know how you feel and I am praying for u ! hope you are doing good . best wishes and good luck to you !
Don’t give up on yourself! There is always time to change things up for the better. Hoping you’re doing well
I wish you the best. 👍
Keeping you in my thoughts, and I hope you continue down the path to recovery. :)
Wait is 113 at 5'8 fat?
Because I am 15 years old and 110 at 5'10
Does no one eat fruit and vegetables anymore?
I do
Nope fruits are just massive carbs n sugar
@Jane lane ooh wasn't aware of that
Dupe Owoaje it's natural sugar , different the sugar you'll find in fizzy drinks , lollies ect. Natural sugar is good as long as you don't eat too much :)
i had 3 apples today
Julie's smile is adorable😍❤❤
It seems Julie eats the least compared to all the other supersizers in the other episodes. Her biggest problem is probably her addiction to sweets and crisp. If she cuts off all sweets she will already be a lot better.
1900 calories
A 7 year old boy
2000
A grown woman ;--;
I think they increase the calories in the skinny people to not trigger/ give a guide to people who suffer from anorexia, but I can't be sure
A Man of his age and stature need more than 2000. He needs atleast 2,200. Grade school children pretty much eat the same amount of calories as adults. They just usually burn it off faster than adults do.
A child is growing and needs more calories per pound than an adult needs.
Children and teens are still growing so they need calories to not just survive but also additional calories to form their body, bones, organs, etc. whereas an adult human is already fully formed so adults only need to eat for daily functioning/survival.
Awwwww Julie’s story and beautiful personality made me tear up and I love Dougies chill kindness! Two sweet human being learning and developing together🥺💕
the guy in the beginning from Tennessee is such a sweet heart...I hope hes well and healthy
Yeah I feel like he would be super good looking if he got his weight to a healthy level. He had a really nice face
He died in 2017 :(
@@DRT813 oh no really???! How do you know? That's so sad!! Was it obesity related?
@@jewelsjelico9567 If you google Charles William Cook you can find his obituary. I did so because I rooted for him after I saw this episode. I don't know the cause, but it seems likely it was obesity related considering the bad state he was in five years before? In 2015 there was also something on Dr. Phil about him and his twin brother Adam, because Adam started losing weight and was trying to get Charles to do so as well, but Charles didn't. He was 605 lbs back then.
ya i was so sad when i found that😕
Julie’s smile is very contagious.
this has to be my favorite episode so far. these two are so kind-hearted and easygoing. they’re both struggling and it’s beautiful to see how open minded they are to changes! i hope they’re doing okay.
Yes they're lovely.
Julie is so sweet. She has such a lovely smile even though she's clearly suffering inside....xxx
“We would become a custom to having junk food because it’s cheaper.” Thats is sad but true in America, if the government helped lower the prices of healthy foods it WOULD save some people’s lives.
I would think that carry-out food would be much more costly than making some vegetables and chicken and having fruit, especially if feeding a family.
It really isn't cheaper, it's just easier. It's actually cheaper to learn to cook. That's a common excuse used because people just want easy food
He's one of the sweetest super skinnys. The way he kept complimenting Julie in the reunion
I think this pair was the best match for each other and the whole time they were so honest and open about each other's shortcomings. Yet not rude or offensive the whole time. They also seem the most open to the change and I wish them both the great success. 💜
Dougie was like a therapist. Genuinely curious and not judgmental, lovely guy
Honestly, this is my favorite episode. I love how they’re both so positive and encouraging!
The super skinny people's skin come back with such a better color
Imagine brewing all those coffees just for them to go to waste
lol I hope the camera crew drank them
Annoney Mouse wasted coffee is hardly a massive loss to anyone, it’s not like binning meat that an animal died for lol
It's so easy to make coffee, it's really no loss. Making actual food takes more time and effort lol in my opinion
Annoney Mouse it's to put things into a better perspective then to just say your drinking too much coffee!
It didn’t go to waste, it taught him a lesson. And the audience watching the show.
With all that coffee, I’d be having an anxiety attack by their mid morning snack 😂
“...and a muffin covered in icing”
*isn’t that a cupcake?*
Anja Brasler no. Muffins are much larger and different texture to a cupcake
It's just a nice way of saying it 😂
This episode had me in tears. I wish I could take their pain away and make them healthy. I know only they can do it themselves. It just breaks my heart about Charles and Julie. I wish them health and strength.
Julie is so pure and is obviously trying. I love her and I’m hoping that she is able to live a long happy and healthy life.💖💕
whats crazy is that as a kid i used to be chubby and i was the only one who stood out in my class because of it.. now i am at a healthy weight and i stand out compared to everyone around me who is overweight.
until i was 9 i was extremely chubby then i went vegetarian and haven’t eaten meat since
Imagine meeting someone for the first time in your underwear 😂😂
This is an underrated comment! Well done!
not even your own underwear in which you feel at least a little more confident but in ugly boring old people’s underwear.
Yeah I think it's pretty dehumanising
And they always put them in nasty, flesh-toned underwear to make them look even worse.
For real, though. Especially for the supersizers. I'm a chubby girl, much smaller than than the people on the show. I could never!
