The sheriff looked darker prolly because that skin reflects the surroundings a bit so when he got Phoenix's sheriff, it looked darker at that angle. If you pause the vid a bit earlier when he was holding his own sheriff in that same position it actually looks the same.

amin, you could use deadlock's wall ability to make it harder to defuse the spike on attacker.
just place it the spike nea a wall and place the wall right next to it .
two of the wall would prevent ayone going to the spike or defusing it
