@clubracer6 it does fine. Winter tires helps a lot. Manual handbrake is a big deal on this car thankfully. It's well composed in the snow it won't lose itself unless you force it to
Great bang for the buck! My Nephew had a Ford Focus ST manual that had engine failure while still under drivetrain warranty. Ford fixed it and he asked me what should he look at next. I told him get a Elantra N and sell the Focus ST. He bought new 2023 Elantra N manual in blue and has been very happy with it. You are spot on Q that is great enthusiast car at competitive price. '22 Sonata N-line owner here. I love the platform. Car has more power than the EN since its the 2.5T motor, only really lacks the LSD. We have gauges on the speedometer for turbo speed, PSI, and oil temps as well which is nice. Bucket style seats with bolstering gives it a nice sporty feel while also being comfortable. Hopefully we can get a tune at some point to really unlock the cars power. I'm just running the LAP3 piggyback at the moment, but it gives the car decent power gains for sure. @@QueTheChaoticKona N and Elantra and Veloster all have the same style. The Veloster is fun cause it’s so small and weighs less but has the same power. I consider these cars FWD s2000s
Glad you finally got to test one out an N car! I have a 22 Veloster N DCT in my garage. I've had it 3 years and it still puts a smile on my face. I'll probably keep it long term.
I owned a 2022 performance blue EN 6-speed MT. Here are things to keep in mind: * Very jerky and hard to shift smoothly when the AC is on for several minutes. * Takes a while for the engine and tires to warm up. * The car is very skittish and tail happy in the rain, similar to a rear-wheel drive car. * Very thirsty engine and small fuel range. * The seats are very uncomfortable and results in lower back pain after one hour drive. * The pedals are not properly spaced for heel-toe downshifts. * Occasional wheel-hop when shifting from 1st-2nd gear. * The shifter is very rubbery. * The ride quality is very stiff in “N” mode. * No sunroof in the MT, only in the AT which makes no sense.
Hmmm.. I have a 23 mt.. Most of what you said is subjective. Fuel tank size, lack of sunroof on the mt and the wheel hop are correct. I disagree with everything else lol
I barely agree with any of this, and I’ve seen you post this same comment on other Elantra N videos. I never find the shifting to be jerky. The seats are extremely comfortable to me. The shifter is not super rubbery IMO, it’s a great shifter.
Side question. I followed your journey with the Acura type S, but just wondering would you still recommenced it, if someone want to buy it, or have you heard of other owners that having similar issues
I would still recommend them. My car was a minority with those issues. I had an early build. Other people did mention oil leaks though. Even on the Type R
Wish you had a longer drive as well. Been thinking about one of these as a daily. I would then have 30k our more to buy a fun car after I sell my CT4vbw. That said, we finally got a tiny bit of snow and the BW was so much fun. Have a Merry Christmas!
@@QueTheChaotic I think the CT4 bw is one of the best new cars. It’s incredible and I do love it, but I do wish I spent 60k on something more analog and then just got a daily/winter beater. Some of the tech in the Caddy drives me crazy, it doesn’t sound great and it’s a little small for a daily. I am coming up on 80 cars at 54 years and have severe car ADD. Yeah not having the STI short shifter is a bummer. The other one I did a review on felt amazing. Nah you won't see me with one of these. Maybe a Veloster N but the WRX ticks these boxes for me in this class

Hyundai priced it at what it should be. Similar to the FK8. People are willingly paying 55k for the FL5 and that’s crazy
The N is prominent for having poor engine mounts which causes excess wheel hop. Hyundai said they resolved this with the new Elantra.
