One of the good things about pleasure beach is that all coasters are good for most people, if you start putting in more extreme coasters, it's limiting it's appeal imo
Like Stephen has said, steeple is the last of its kind in the world, that is something that’s just too valuable in my opinion to lose. I’ve noticed a lot of videos talking about rough coasters and there is always one that’s similar to InFusion on it. I think InFusion offers nothing special and could be scrapped to make way for something new (or even old if they go back to a Flume). I think the big one should be re-tracked, but also someone mentioned that adding an underground section to the first dip, If possible, would be interesting and a way to take the crown back from Hyperia. I think all the woodies should stay. They offer a lovely bit of nostalgia, but also a genuinely different experience to what’s out there now. If they were going to get rid of one of the woodies I’d say Strike as it offers a similar experience to Big Dipper.
No idea who it was but when I was there in September there were two guys in hi-vis vests riding Big Dipper and talking about it as they went around, then they were stood with larger group of people in the station after riding the first time with a clipboard making notes. Going to chime in on myself here, but I genuinely think if The Big One has X years left, the ONLY place you can build a tall, or taller replacement is where Nick Streak is down the back of the park into the Steeplechase plot and back. If they could do that and then remove The Big One, they would cover themselves and have another recognisable skyline coaster for the next 30 years - but proximity to nearby houses is an issue - hence a suggestion more focused on either a reverse spike and swing launch and fast low coaster into steeplechase or you have a launch up a tall but narrow inverted tophat (NOT like Kingda Ka or Top Thrill/TT2 or Stealth etc but with the approach and descent back to back not side by side. Reduces the space needed then and inverting it would be fun and challenges Hyperia's layout to a degree. Hell, maybe you build a Hyperia style coaster here and take back the height record - depends on lift hill vs launch but launch If possible.
Infusion definitely needs a retract at the very least. I agree with the retract for GN, and the station definitely needs work. I'm curious to know where they are planning on putting the Gyro Swing coaster. Will it be were Bowlerdrome currently resides??
9:40 one day i would love to see chance rides come in, reprofile most of the ride (keeping the drop the same of course!) and turn the big one into some huge hyper gtx - would likely become one of the best coasters in the world
I'm poorly with the flu so this has been a welcome distraction. Oh and Infusion doesn't just need scrapping, it needs burning to the ground. Merry Christmas chaps!!!
I do love Steeplechase, however I don’t see it being with us in the next five odd years, it’s certainly one of a kind but we can’t just live in the past, I swear that red track (one with the white horses) hasn’t been in operation for ages? As for the others, Infusion needs to go, oh my gosh I’ve never had such an awful experience than with that thing, it’s horrible and not worth it, save your backs and heads. The rest I’m quite satisfied with, Streak needs another train, although I’m not sure if that includes tech investment as well? Because those queues are pretty bad especially running on one train. Although I am sad about it, getting the grand prix removed was a step in the right direction, does that mean they don’t want to get rid of their proper vintage rides (mainly coasters)? I’m not sure, but we will have to see.
We’re definitely going to see a different approach going forward IMO, not every old ride will be saved when they need big money spending on them. Just a guess from what we’ve heard lately. River Caves could be an example of this.
The F and G word must have been good old JR 🤣, another great video especially the woodies they always turn into good discussions and different opinions
I would keep Icon, as it is obviously relatively new and still my favourite rollercoaster in the UK. It has the perfect amount of hangtime, airtime that I just love it. Still wish that it was a tad bit more intense, but it does mean families can ride the coaster aswell which is fantastic. Love Icon. Avalanche is a coaster I would refurb. First of all, the rusty colour scheme is awful and probably a reason why it is seen in bad light. Recoat the ride in maybe bright blue paint and it would be a lot better. I do believe it is a tad bit short however has great intensity and thrills and is also fantastic for families. Furthermore, I do wish the rollercoaster had a larger station for more capacity. Last time I went was actually on a busy day, so two trains were being sent out very quickly. I mean one was at the top of the lift whilst everybody was getting on the train below. Perhaps the 'storage shed' taking up most of the station could be removed. I like Avalanche. Big Dipper is a keep. It is aperfect wooden coaster. I would not change it one bit. This coaster has the perfect 'wooden coaster' roughness that is just outstanding. Love this thing, it is a great woodie. The Big One is OK. Perhaps a retrack and tweaks to the layout to have more airtime. Agreed, the coasters first drop is fantastic but the rest of it is literally just a monorail 😅. Just make it more intense after the initial drop! Blue Flyer is a lovely little ride. I enjoyed riding it and it is a slow paced, unique childrens coaster that I simply love. Oh no, Grand National! Retrack this thing with gravity group. It is so intesnely rough. Its not just that. Im guessing when it was manual it took those airtime hills a lot slower, because the speed going over those hills was painful. RMC'ing is not needed, just the gravity group team. I do love its historical value but even as an enthusiast, I do not believe we would be losing much if it was even demolished. Infusion is just terrible. Perhaps retracking it with one of the new models of the vekoma coasters (The Vekoma suspendes thrill coaster) like you would see at Emerald Park, Ireland would be good, as it is very smooth. I do not think investing in this could be worth it, and a removal could just be the better option. Although I agree that Nickelodian Streak is an under-peformer, it is perfect for children, and as it is now under the demographic for a childrens series, is perfect for that area of the park. I do find it quite fun, although the lack of airtime is clear. But I would keep it. Revolution is insane! Although it is only a loop, it arguably applies some of the biggest thrills in the park. I love this beast, and I would certainly keep it under the circumstances that they remove the station building and perhaps replace it with something similar. I would be sad to see it go though! 😢 Steeplechase is a very unique attraction that I would keep. It is the last of its type and is very rare. It isnt worth removing and replacing as it is seen as a fan favourite and wouldnt be worth money for newer expensive attractions. I would simply pay attention to the other lower performing attractions before removing this.
We don't have the weather in the UK for a wet ride....it's either too cold or raining. It's different in Spain or America, where the weather is far better.
Totally agree with the yanks, National is THE best ride, and yes, you do over analyse it. Generation wimp continually moan about it being rough, the same lot that got the mouse demolished. One thing i always say about the national is, for goodness sake paint it. In fact during one close season i feel they should go from one end of the park to the other and absolutely everything that needs cleaning/painting gets done so the park at least looks as good as it can look. I do think at times you all completely fail to look at rides through younger eyes. Rides like the rollercoaster, avalanche, steeplechase, are intermediate rides ( class b rides in the past) that are the next step towards the adult ( A or even AA Class) rides and for these youngsters these rides are every bit as exciting as the biggest rides are for you guys.
Grand National definitely should get a full repaint, and refurb. I’ve got a 6 year old who loves coasters, I don’t overlook his viewpoint but I don’t think parks should only be building coasters for kids. Thrill seekers exist too.
Of course they shouldn't, but too many comments here and on similar sites seem to want to remove these rides and replace with white knuckle rides. I think a lot of these people forget they were kids once upon a time.@@yourexperienceguide
Merry Christmas Scott and Stephen. Like the shirts. I agree with most of what you said though I would keep avalanche and give it a refurb. I completely agree about getting rid of infusion. The last time I was on it, it was so rough. I'd replace it with some sort of modern log flume or a river rapids. Before I would have argued about keeping revolution and steeplechase but as I'm now disabled and go between crutches and a wheel chair I am in agreement about getting rid of the two of them. Revolution looks so tiered The woodies in the park, retrack and refurb all of them and rename nic streak back to an old name velvet coaster. Like you Scott I hope they put in a thrill ride in place of grand prix.
I'd keep everything and reburb them all theres been enough removed .i can understand that people are particularly fed up with infusion because its very rough and i think it needs a complete refurb soon as possible or would it be cheaper to replace it i dont know.Steeplechase is historic but is it at a point where it needs to be replaced
I feel like PB is just stuck at a certain level, for me it's too much of a trek for Icon when I can get to Thorpe in less than an hour. The other rides feel like they are more liked because of nostalgia. I didn't find the Big One great, the view of the beach on the first drop was nice. Everything else though was just ok, I did enjoy the Streak. At this moment I'd rather just go abroad or go TP if desperate.
Steeplechase and Infusion are the two rides they need to get rid of. River Caves could do with a makeover. Wallace and Gromit would likely need a change in scenes to take account of the recent movie. Grand National needs to be shutdown for a season so it can be retracked.
Unpopular opinion but Nickelodeon Streaks my fav woodie in blackpool cuz its smooth but not silky smooth and the bunny hops at the end gave me a load of airtime
Why not change the trains on Icon so they are all spinning but rather than just one per train 4 sets of back to back seats similar to Ride to Happiness/Timekeeper? They wouldn't lose capacity, every ride would be different and they would have an amazing new advertising angle to build on and basically a new coaster to market. Think it would be an amazing experience having experienced Enso and visually would look amazing too!
@ just with it being mentioned it was never really heavily pushed when it opened, it would be a great new experience which was open to everyone rather than a up charge and just my personal thoughts after the Junior Immelmann loop it just twists and turns and doesn’t really do much it didn’t do in the first part of the ride. It has great interactions but for me that’s about it and spinning trains would just make it a new experience. Totally appreciate it would not be a popular opinion with everyone though but it would make the ride even better I think.
This is a great podcast but it is reality vs money no object. If money no issue keep all woodies and refurb infusion goes huge foot print and do the vercoma 2 coasters same as emerald park. Big one stays.
Interesting video. I enjoy PB and really want it to have a good future. I do think there are questions with all their coasters though sadly. Even Icon, which is great - you touch on this, but they surely should have cleared the space for a real signature world class ride - which wouldnt necessarily have cost more to build. Hyperia wouldn't impact them so much of they had already built something to that level. I think more thsn anything getting some newer signature rides in - rides that people will travel to Blackpool for - matters more than what stays or goes. Most current coasters have good points; most don't sell the park though. Yes get someone in to do work on the wooden coasters, for sure. I'm not much of a fan of them generally. So - prioritise getting newer things right, and if it means clearing space- the right space for that ride - then do it.
Thing is the park can progress without having to remove anything if they chose to do so, I know I sound like a broken record here. But they’re more than capable of doing that. It’s just current management can’t be bothered and that’s what annoys me.
How? Running costs at parks are higher than ever, the cost of maintaining old rides is getting higher, then there’s the cost of training new young engineers to maintain those old rides *and* then the cost of building new attractions. All those costs mount up. Having had the chance to speak with people at a high level in the park, I completely disagree that “they can’t be bothered”. They’re trying to find the balance between nostalgia and modernisation. They’ve done their market research too, people want new stuff Doug.
Maybe they need to campaign for the government to get these running costs, or get some kind of financial help/fund to help them with that. I mean with some of them being listed, and yes, I know the arguments for and against that, but seeing as how some of them are listed, maybe they should be getting a fund from somewhere to help maintain that I’m does alleviate some of the costs. I remember Amanda saying in an interview that GT was also known for dealing with government issues, maybe that’s what they need to do to get around that problem.
Whoever those people at higher level, thought you were talking to, I don’t really trust what they’re saying. I only really trust Nick and and Morgan. And yes, before you say it I know Morgan is not currently involved with Pleasure Beach at the moment and I know it’s unlikely he’s going to be MD in the future like you said before, but those are the only two people that I trust at the moment.
Doug.i actually like Amanda Thompson...she is no nonsense and never speaks with a forked tongue.rather she was like that than a pr man's dream that just tells us what we want to hear
i agree enso needs to go even tho done 300+ shots but i have seen many a struggle the ride ops have with folk sneaking on without paying from the main que and guests being confused and stealing rows from others or not being able to ride with friends as enso train is being loaded.
@yourexperienceguide It may be tiny but it offers nothing really. By the time the front of the coaster is at the bottom of a drop, the back has nothing to offer. I mean, you could shorten the trains. I'm just not sure it offers anything Streak doesn't. My kids hated Blue Flyer yet were fine on Streak and they haven't been on a coaster before
@@yourexperienceguide But to say that Streak offers nothing Vs Blue Flyer subjectively isn't right but we only go once every couple years or so and much prefer Streak. I do agree with you about Infusion and Steeple Chase is another I agree with. Don't often go on Revolution but it probably wouldn't bother me if that was removed either. Hope you had a great Christmas
@ I have a 6 year old who did Blue Flyer at exactly 12 months old but still won’t do Streak, they’re similar to people familiar with coasters but not kids. He will do it eventually, hopefully! Thank you and I hope you had a great one too
A very merry Christmas to you both hope you have both had a wonderful day 🎄🎁 . Love the Hawaiian shirts. Definitely would keep Avalanche and Steeplechase as avalanche is the only one in the UK and Steeplechase only one in the world of its kind something the park should not lose . The big dipper would definitely be my favorite of the woodies at the park 100+ years old and still an absolutely amazing coaster . Would love them to get some new trains on the grand national but it, is an iconic ride and one that must stay with some work done to the track. The only coaster I would either get rid of or have something major done to is infusion . Visually a incredible looking ride but the headache after and how much you get bashed about I've coined it the headbanger central 😅
What I never understood is why parks do not make quests for kids to complete. Turn the park into a game via an app, like go a certain ride five time or something. Let you level up, find easter egg and win prizes for completing stuff. With the QR system Blackpool could do it..
We would just love to be able to go there when it's not pissing down with rain, every time we go it rains being on the big one in the rain it feels like hail stones, and valhalla I've been on it but still haven't seen what's going on in the ride because my eyes were covered with water 95% of the time so we can say we have ridden it but not experienced it
@yourexperienceguide no but they can control how wet you get on valhalla the fact it's bloody cold up there 90% of the time and rains a lot they could make it that in the winter you wouldn't get as wet as you could in the summer, it is ridiculous how wet that rides get you but so bad that you have water in your eyes throughout the ride and can't see for 💩
@@yourexperienceguide Well let’s hope that you are right about that🤞🙏 Pleasure Beach has lost too much over the last 20 years as it is without losing anything else, anymore and you might as well just shut up shop and call it a day🤷♂️
@ If rides are replaced within 12 months then not going to kick up a fuss over some stuff going. We all know how much has gone since 2000, unacceptable tbh.
The price of scrap metal is quite good at the moment so remove Infusion, Steeplechase and Revolution. Give Avalanche another 5 years then scrap it once the new Grand Prix replacement is opened. Rename Icon, it's naff and it's not an Icon, it's just an above average coaster.
Blow infusion to bits for starters and then go from there
Brutal 😮
@ not quite as brutal as the head banging though 😂
Yes get rid of Infusion it's the definition of pain

Best solution for Big One is removal. Replaced with a gravity group woodie with Timberliners.

I would put a gyroswing here alongside a family coaster, of which a 'bike' style coaster either vekoma, intamin, zamperla whoever has the best ones currently as a steeplechase replacement here too.

Replace Infusion with an Intamin Hot Racer or RMC Raptor. Keep the water below.
Would like to see a water ride there but not against an Intamin coaster in another space 😅
Infusion definitely needs a retract at the very least. I agree with the retract for GN, and the station definitely needs work. I'm curious to know where they are planning on putting the Gyro Swing coaster. Will it be were Bowlerdrome currently resides??
Think they’d rather remove than retrack in the case of Infusion.
Gyro Swing still unconfirmed, might not happen yet 😮
9:40 one day i would love to see chance rides come in, reprofile most of the ride (keeping the drop the same of course!) and turn the big one into some huge hyper gtx - would likely become one of the best coasters in the world
Just as long as they don’t use the same trains as the one at Kentucky Kingdom 🫣
I'm poorly with the flu so this has been a welcome distraction. Oh and Infusion doesn't just need scrapping, it needs burning to the ground.
Merry Christmas chaps!!!
Wishing you a speedy recovery from it
I do love Steeplechase, however I don’t see it being with us in the next five odd years, it’s certainly one of a kind but we can’t just live in the past, I swear that red track (one with the white horses) hasn’t been in operation for ages?
Merry Christmas, Scott and Stephen!
Merry Christmas 🎄
GTA cut scene 😂😂😂
Side mission 🫣
The national is the worse coaster ive ever done. 25 yrs ago it was good but it is so rough ill never ride it again.
Wow that’s sad to read
Grand National needs GCI's steel track, if it's light enough to be suitable for the structure.
Should stay a woodie IMO, but thank you for watching and commenting
The F and G word must have been good old JR 🤣, another great video especially the woodies they always turn into good discussions and different opinions
Wouldn’t like to say 😂 Thank you!
@ Get the bloody thing open 🤣
Merry Christmas Scott and steve and a happy new year 🎉
Same to you! 😊
I feel like Pleasure Beach is the 4 woodies and you can't lose any of them. I would love a massive GCI retrack of the national though
Would go with Gravity Group, they’ve got an excellent track record of refurbing old woodies
I’ve never actually rode a Gravity Group but I’ve heard they’re awfully rough
Steeplechase is a very unique attraction that I would keep. It is the last of its type and is very rare. It isnt worth removing and replacing as it is seen as a fan favourite and wouldnt be worth money for newer expensive attractions. I would simply pay attention to the other lower performing attractions before removing this.
Thank you for watching, and taking the time to comment about all the coasters 😊
We don't have the weather in the UK for a wet ride....it's either too cold or raining. It's different in Spain or America, where the weather is far better.
We do, just not as often as countries abroad. Heat waves aren’t uncommon.
@@yourexperienceguide I beg to differ
@@Phillip-d4j Ok, going to completely ignore all the heat waves we've had since covid? 😇
Thank you, hope you had a great Christmas Day 🎄
@yourexperienceguide I did thanks. Hope you did too.
Be happy to see both removed and replaced with modern coasters 👀
@yourexperienceguide yes I suppose it comes down to cost as we have said before
Merry Christmas to all at Your Experience Guide!
Same to you!
Too jazzy
Keep the Big One and for goodness sake give the rides a lick of paint
🎄⛄🎄
Too jazzy 😅
@yourexperienceguide watch yourselves back through your fingers whilst wiggling them a bit, it's like a kaleidoscope
Enjoyed that thanks 👍
Thank you 🙏
Merry Christmas guys great Hawaiian shirts your both wearing 👍
Thank you, hope you had a good Christmas 🎅
Steeplechase and Infusion are the two rides they need to get rid of. River Caves could do with a makeover. Wallace and Gromit would likely need a change in scenes to take account of the recent movie. Grand National needs to be shutdown for a season so it can be retracked.
Big Grand National refurb from the Gravity Group would be great
Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
Unpopular opinion but Nickelodeon Streaks my fav woodie in blackpool cuz its smooth but not silky smooth and the bunny hops at the end gave me a load of airtime
It’s a fun coaster
Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster (STC), is the replacement for the SLC.
Just take Infusion, and launch it off the end of the South Pier.
From an enthusiast standpoint it would be better but it might be hard to market to the GP
Hard sell to non enthusiasts would be a worry
Why not change the trains on Icon so they are all spinning but rather than just one per train 4 sets of back to back seats similar to Ride to Happiness/Timekeeper? They wouldn't lose capacity, every ride would be different and they would have an amazing new advertising angle to build on and basically a new coaster to market. Think it would be an amazing experience having experienced Enso and visually would look amazing too!
Why though? It’s extremely popular already
Possibly, people may be surprised by BPB’s movements in the next ten years 🥲
Interesting video.
A new signature/eticket attraction has to be a priority soon, hopefully
Merry Christmas boys 🎅🎄🎁
Thank you and same to you 🎄
Thing is the park can progress without having to remove anything if they chose to do so, I know I sound like a broken record here.
@@dougbriglmen716 It’s not really the government’s problem
i agree enso needs to go even tho done 300+ shots but i have seen many a struggle the ride ops have with folk sneaking on without paying from the main que and guests being confused and stealing rows from others or not being able to ride with friends as enso train is being loaded.
You’ve surprised us here Keith!
You can’t take down steeple chase!
Hot take. Get rid of Blue Flyer. Get rid of Infusion. Replace them
What are you replacing Blue Flyer with? The footprint is tiny
@yourexperienceguide It may be tiny but it offers nothing really. By the time the front of the coaster is at the bottom of a drop, the back has nothing to offer.
I mean, you could shorten the trains.
I'm just not sure it offers anything Streak doesn't.
My kids hated Blue Flyer yet were fine on Streak and they haven't been on a coaster before
@ Disagree completely, great starter coaster that kids can do as soon as they can walk unaided. It’s a lot smaller than Streak too.
Thank you and I hope you had a great one too
Merry Christmas all xxx hugs
Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
Guys great vlog but love the shirts
They were a dodgy choice lol
Hope they refurb wallace and gromit and add new scenes from vengeance most foul
You would fit in around Blackpool with those shirts lol
Not sure about that
Merry Christmas to you all. Avalanche, Rev and Steeplechase should go. Huge footprint to build on. 😀 Huge RMC. 🤞
Merry Christmas 🎄
Tbh would hate to see 3 coasters replaced by 1
The only one of the two built...

What I never understood is why parks do not make quests for kids to complete. Turn the park into a game via an app, like go a certain ride five time or something. Let you level up, find easter egg and win prizes for completing stuff. With the QR system Blackpool could do it..
BPB used to have a game app for guests
They really need sort the space invaders building out its a waste and the area was mad mouse was need a ride too loads of space there
Unfortunately neither are likely to be ride locations again
Shame really good dark ride could in there @@yourexperienceguide
@@craigtooth4701 It’s not a big space tbh, especially with a restaurant using the ground floor
We would just love to be able to go there when it's not pissing down with rain, every time we go it rains being on the big one in the rain it feels like hail stones, and valhalla I've been on it but still haven't seen what's going on in the ride because my eyes were covered with water 95% of the time so we can say we have ridden it but not experienced it
To be fair BPB can’t control the weather 🌧️
@yourexperienceguide no but they can control how wet you get on valhalla the fact it's bloody cold up there 90% of the time and rains a lot they could make it that in the winter you wouldn't get as wet as you could in the summer, it is ridiculous how wet that rides get you but so bad that you have water in your eyes throughout the ride and can't see for 💩
needs to go, get something newer, and something less painful
Which one?
30:45 thank f*** for that!
Doesn’t mean I’m right 😂
@@yourexperienceguide Well let’s hope that you are right about that🤞🙏
Pleasure Beach has lost too much over the last 20 years as it is without losing anything else, anymore and you might as well just shut up shop and call it a day🤷♂️
@ If rides are replaced within 12 months then not going to kick up a fuss over some stuff going.
We all know how much has gone since 2000, unacceptable tbh.
@ but are they going to do that?
Pleasure Beach don’t exactly have the best track record for replacing stuff they take out.
@@dougbriglmen716 They don’t, but we’re talking about the future not the past
The big one has had its day...remove it
Risky move
The price of scrap metal is quite good at the moment so remove Infusion, Steeplechase and Revolution. Give Avalanche another 5 years then scrap it once the new Grand Prix replacement is opened. Rename Icon, it's naff and it's not an Icon, it's just an above average coaster.
It’s a popular one tbf, but it’ll never draw people in like the Big One does
Get rid of Big One and Infusion, merry christmas❤
Risky 😮
Remove everything apart from icon start from scratch call it donkey land
