Glad they are useful, at one point while editing the video I couldn't tell what parameter was being adjusted so I knew they were needed! I'll try and add them in more often.
How to navigate this to specific sidechain modules? For example, I wanna duck this to the kick, or I wanna use this on vocals to give more mid-range eq headroom for vocals. How to do? According to "what" those maps are moving without sidechaining for specific channel?
Hey great video, lots of ideas to try! One thing I don’t think you explained though- after you’ve selected some sections of loops that you like, do you then resample those sections into another new track? Or do you chop up / paste those sections within that same track. I know ultimately you’d get the same outcome, just wondering about workflow for you?
Hey, was this in reference to something in this video or another one perhaps? Only because I don't think I did any resampling in this demo. But either way, typically if I am "printing" effects or a certain change in sequence or any major change like that I will resample it into a new track. Mainly because then I can always go back to what I was originally working with, or I can completely ignore what I was working with and treat the new resampled thing as it's own entity. But this is the sort of thing where you can really follow your own instinct and do what makes the most sense for you!
@@PeaksofValleys whoops, sorry I watched another video right after yours but accidentally commented on yours. But thank you for more or less answering it anyway. And I loved this video too, have started experimenting a lot with envelope follower more after watching this . Cheers
It's free here: peaksofvalleys.com/album/1-knob-rack-fx or on gumroad here: peaksofvalleys.gumroad.com/l/ususp. There are a couple youtube videos too about the 1 knob racks I've added to this pack over time: ua-cam.com/video/hOEe4MGGXs0/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/I6_dQmT2BcI/v-deo.html
every envelope follower tutorials shows the user mapping it to only stock ableton plugins. when i try mapping it to a non-stock plug in (e.g. Arturia Clavinet) it does not work. I can't map it to any parameter on a non-stock plugin. How to do this?
Good question, and it's a little hidden... go to your plugin's device box at the bottom of Live and click that downward facing triangle. Then click configure, then click the parameter you want to control on your plugin. Now it will show up as a slider in your plugins device box and you can control it with an envelope follower like any other parameter.
Yes, it's a grain delay set up a certain way and with the macro controlling spray, feedback, and dry/wet. You can download it free with a few other 1 knob rack fx here: peaksofvalleys.bandcamp.com/album/1-knob-rack-fx
This format is incredibly concise, I wish more UA-cam creators would be like this so I can get back to creating ASAP. Thanks!
as per usual the best content on youtube
Wow - this is really really cool! Have completely neglected envelope follower for years but feel like it creates so many more possibilities
very useful as always, then "red square" hint is a great addition for tracking where you click

Great, thank you.... For me, I feel it very hard to read the text an follow the demo at the same time.
