yes gods deal one type of damage and they can scale of int or str or both , int or str are a scaling methods damage types are still magical and physical lastly penetration is global theres no phys pen or magic pen hope i helped :)
Decided I'd give Smite 2 a try. The couple of original closed alpha games I had did not feel great, but now? It has a lot of work still ahead of it, but the game itself actually feels good - arguably smoother than Smite 1. I'm looking forward to it.
I think the item builder is like the worst thing about the game, which is honestly a good sign.
if you make an mlg montage with ymir that 1000 crit would have to be where the bass drops

Gods deal the same TYPE damage as in Smite1, Ymir is magical, Medusa is physical
Strength and Intelligence are different scales but not a damage TYPE
Ymir and Medusa both have hybrid scaling so they can build both INT and STR but will not change their TYPE (phy or mag)
Check your god when you play them to know what to scale with, there are a few crazy ones like protection scaling and cooldown scaling sprinkled in there too on some gods.
All gods regardless of how their abilities scale will get 100% STR and 20% INT on all basic attacks.
also Medusa is really strong rn and I think that damage Ymir needs some help from the devs tbh more than just more scaling, something about his survivability it really low for smite2 standards and I believe it is just because he was one of the first gods in s2
can also cancel your wall to put it down early, took me awhile to get used to not walking around
i love ymirs “new” kit. being able to jump forward by putting a wall behind you feels amazing. also the blink changes are so funny with ymir ult.

Thank you for uploading Hatmaster, really hoping that you finish that Guardian Gauntlet on SMITE 1 soom so you can get with some juicy SMITE 2 content.
Also, i think it would be cool if you could explain how magical/physical str/int works in Smite 2 in a future video, so that everyone how wacthed this one can get the right information (even if a comment already pointed this out).

Could see this one happening from a mile away. Smite 2 allows for so much more build variety and crit Ymir is one of the funniest things in the game for sure

Building on gods has been so fun. I'm in love. Cant wait for more content! I havent lost an ymir game yet lol he absolutely slaps with auto attack builds
I had a medusa hide behind the teleporter and wait for me to check the lost knight before she went on it but I seen the autos light it up when I looked back thankfully. Still. Could be a good play. Hope youre enjoying your time with smite 2 duel so far.
I will probably never play Ymir, but I cannot wait for his gentleman skin to come to smite 2. It's just perfect when you use it.

I was thinking, you know what would be a funny aspect to Ymir? He does not freeze anymore just slow and reduces atk speed by a nice amount but his passive value is doubled. (Meaning your basics do 4x the dmg)

hydras on ymir works fantastic, usually secondish item. Power scaling is really weird and very god based but strength boosts auto damage on all gods, and int boosts ability damage on some. Trans/Toth/Hydras/Poly on ymir go brrrrr
alright mr hat, while i am not a smite 2 player, i did play the first and im a very veteran league player, which smite 2’s system is much more similar too. As someone who understands both, ill try my best to explain all the fancy shmancy damage and stat classifications for ya. First off, the difference between strength/intelligence (STR/INT) and physical/magical (PHS/MAG) should be made clear. Str/Int are the stats that you gain through building items, and they are the scaling by which your ability’s damage will increase. Phs/Mag are the types of damage you will deal with your spells, basic attacks, and item actives. Str/int do not inherently tie to the damage type you deal. It is true that, previously, God’s abilities could deal a hybrid of physical and magical damage, though it was changed at some point. However, abilities and basic attacks can still scale differently, some have just strength, others just intelligence, and some have both. A Gods damage type is denoted by either the blue or red text on their god page, and if you see a god have one then theyve got it on all. All basic attacks in the game also scale off of a secret third thing, basic attack power. Regardless of what the scaling on your basic attack is, it will always deal the damage type it states. For example, Mordred’s attack chain first has greater strength scaling, while the second has greater intelligence scaling. Regardless of this, both of his attacks deal physical damage. For Ymir specifically, his damage type is magical, but he has some monster strength scaling on his passive, at 175%. A ymir with 0 strength does 34 basic(Mag) damage to the ymir bot in the practice arena, and 59 with frostbite applied. With 50 strength, he does 72, or 127 with frostbite.
Nemesis has the strongest aspect. She gets low then ults you then you lose all your hp and she probably comes close to 1 shotting you cuz it still steals your prots
Ra has the strongest aspect. But nems is good

All gods do 1 type of damage. Ymir does only magical but he can scale on both. Check abilities to know how they scale. Basics scale. Harder with strength.
I wish damage recap showed mitigation and number of times hit.

U got a bit unlucky, but u played pretty well. Btw that Medusa could finish the game at 15 min, but she wanted to play safe instead. Didn't have balls to risk it and finish it

i wish they didnt nerf dagger of frenzy so hard in this update, only getting it for 5 autos in no way makes up for the reduced cooldown and kill reset
also one start i've seen and used a bit is starting red, teleporting to purple, then grabbing blue and then clearing your minions under tower, with a jungle starter and a decent clear god its pretty easy and gets you a massive lead
@@talosisoursavior3061 That sounds like a good star and honestly on assassins if would be bad but on Ymir it's pretty great with a high int / strength build seems like
@@Hatmaster i agree that it's still good on ymir and i would still buy it, its just that before you got it for a full 6 seconds and with even more extra auto damage instead of just for 5 autos, which was just way better
@@Hatmaster also the lost knight (bull demon) has a buff that gives not only hp5/mp5 but also 20% pen for 120 seconds, so it can be good to get even when you cant get phoenix or have already gotten it. also also it seems like there is a bug where killing bull demon when their phoenix is down will not disable it even if it respawns because it is debuffing the titan instead

Man i played my first smite 2 duel yesterday i was ymir enemy was zues killed him 5 times match went on for 40 minutes until he surrendered thank god he surrendered i had no way to finish he was camping titan and phoenix hard
Hope you see this hat, you can walk around the teleporter while channeling for teleport to avoid being interrupted

Hi Hatmaster! I have a question, love the video always love your duel games, could you explain the difference in Intellgent Builds and Power Builds??
@@CodenameLeo97 other people are explaining it well in depth in the comments, I can reply with one as well once I'm on my PC I'm on mobile currently.
But basically God's can scale off of intelligence and or strength, but will only deal one type of damage. Magical or physical.
Some gods scale more with one than the other, some are hybrid. But allows for a lot of build variance.
Like Ymir scales pretty hard on strength for his auto attacks because of his passive, but his abilities scale off of intelligence mostly. He deals only magical damage.

I kinda like smite 2 but I HATE the teleports on conquest. You cant get ahead in lane if everyone has a free jing wei passive.
@@HeinzWillhelm idk you still get gold / xp for kills and you can back yourself and come back for a full fight too. Helps both sides of you're ahead or behind

Anyone else find anubis lacking in damage or just me?
As far as I'm aware, Anubis still scales pretty hard but his passive is different, so he doesn't get the 21 prot steal when fully stacking it against enemies anymore. You're also missing the passive of Bancroft's (increased power/lifesteal as your health goes down) and Typhon's (increased power based on how much % lifesteal you have) that pair _really_ well with Anubis. That being said, there are some really high intelligence items in Smite 2; I think he just needs to be itemized a little differently from how he normally would be in Smite 1.

I got the founders pack for Smite 2 which gave me all the gods for Smite 2.
When I got the god pack for Smite 1 I was about 13 years old and a friend bought it for me, I think it's pretty fair to get it all these years later for Smite 2.

Not sure how i feel about abilities taking less set up to use. Especially like Ymir's 2 and Mulans pull.

Why cause ur to gormless to work out how to use them.. Don't use them if u don't like them there not required...
Khepri's aspect seems to have some potential on duel, instead of dragging your opponent you are both rooted and you auto the enemy, so auto attack Khepri doesn't sound half bad.
