To prevent this, on the audi A4, I dont know about the others but at least on the 2019 2.0L quattro the engine oil drain plug is a black plastic plug an its at the front of the engine. The oil drains in the direction of the front passenger, if you understand what I mean. All you have to do is remove the FRONT splash sheild . According to All Data, the capacity is 5.5 quartz. There's a way to check oil level via the screen on car.
I had this exact thing happen to my Audi A4 at a local mechanic when I took it for an oil change and they couldn't repair it because its a sealed transmission. They had to tow it to an Audi dealership. This all occurred on a Saturday. Sunday Audi service is closed, Monday snow storm and going into Tuesday still waiting for my car. If you have an Audi A4 please tell them where the engine oil plug is every time you go in for service and tell them the correct oil to put in because they almost put in 10W-30 but caught them at the last minute as my car takes 0W-30
Yeah I had to call in a few favors to get the proper info on what fluid goes into the "manual" side... 3 dealers had absolutely no clue... My buddy hooked me up with his old pal he worked with at an audio/Porsche dealership... He has to go digging but finally found it and helped save the day for the shop that did this.
I drained my automatic side tonight, thinking it was engine oil. So it’s CVT fluid or DCG? And how much? My son has a 2016 Audi A6 2T. Also would local Autozone carry that or is that a dealership item too?
I don't know for sure what's supposed to be in your transmission but DCG sounds about right however don't trust me on that... I would refer to the dealer for that info... Those transmission are NOT cheap if you blow it up because of skimping on the dealer fluid... It happens...people make mistakes but don't make it worse by going to AutoZone or any aftermarket vender for potentially the won't fluid
I got you on that. Thank you. I will call dealer tomorrow and hope to get accurate info. I know it looked like the color of motor oil but I thought seemed to not have drained as much as oil should have been. Needless to say. Added 5 quarts oil and filter. Car wouldn’t move and then realized my mistake. So now to drain the probable 10 quarts oil😮 and refill the automatic side of the transmission. Wow!
So 4 quarts $160and for them to do the job and the fluid about $312. I think I’m gonna take it to them because I have no idea how much is in there how much needs to go back or how to check any of that There’s nothing in the manual there’s no dipstick apparently I’m the dipstick but anyways and I’m assuming you need a pump and some kind of special hose fittings to put this fluid back into transmission so tonight in the meantime and we’ll see if I can find the oil plug and Get about 5 quarts of oil back out of the engine. Any advice would be great. I appreciate it man. Thanks.
@@Carolineitzz-i1n for a pump you can use a gallon pump sprayer from home Depot, take the end and shove a hose on it you can get on it and shove inside the drain pan... Fill it up. You should be able to find the filling procedure on UA-cam somewhere... I don't remember it off hand
Life saver I just did same thing drained the transmission fluid thank god I didn’t drive it or nun or try fill it up before I watched this video

Thanks this answered some of my questions still need to get a way to get it in the transmission now Audi be confusing man
Use a pump sprayer, works excellent! Just a normal one from home Depot or wherever. Just take the tip off and put a rubber hose on it if you need to
I done exactly the same thing🙈🙈
