    great! But how was the ecological footstep of the boat transfer after all comparing to a regular flight?

    • @GermanGreetings
      @GermanGreetings 3 роки тому +4

      It depends on the scale. Calculating the boatbuilding-emissions 100% on Gretas short journey as well e.g.? Or thousands of (I try to imagine only Swedish, Germans, French) people flying less often because of Gretas impact on their minds... it could be a nice work for academics.

    • @karga2tilki
      @karga2tilki 3 роки тому +1

      @@GermanGreetings ok. common arguments for public relations. In this point of view the insanity of vendee globe is very ecologic as well. Thank you.

    • @GermanGreetings
      @GermanGreetings 3 роки тому +8

      @@karga2tilki It was in Gretas reach, to do it like this. Climate needs public relations to people, to inform themselves. And that`s the success of course based on the structures, as they developed until today.
      I can`t blame Vendée Globe or Ocean Race. Quite more sad I am about, that all those container-giants and tankers use none of those kites, who can reduce emissions by 20 % and more. The regattaboats are only some fiew and small ...and they sail. It`s in no relation to the mass of hughe ships with carbon-footprints like giants on all oceans. The scales are so different.

    • @karga2tilki
      @karga2tilki 3 роки тому +3

      @@GermanGreetings Everything IMHO! I was invested in a Kite Cargo ship in 2009. Then Diesel prices fell sharply and no carrier wanted to use kites anymore. Hopefully this will change.. AND!! minimum 30% of payload is useless ( container full of bullshit consumer goods.)

    • @GermanGreetings
      @GermanGreetings 3 роки тому +1

      Yes... Malizia does indirectly: Pioneers offered electric powered boats.
      And now let us focus on tankers and containerships, Super Yachts... to make all this better. Henry Ford once: The Car came first... then the road.

    • @GermanGreetings
      @GermanGreetings 3 роки тому +7

      Boris said in a long interview afterwards, that Greta is one of the fiew lucky ones, not getting sick. There is a wonderful documentation about her life now in german ARD-Mediathek, with a very personal view on her moods, the relation to her father during the journeys around Europe, Atlantic and America.
      Being a historian, Greta helped me so much, to get a living imagination of Jeanne d`Arc`s singlemindedness... as one key-motor for motivating many, to focus on something.

      I expect, you are not. But did you at least inform yourself about those Vendée Globe Racers ? Little hint: They are tracked by Satelites.
      Last questions: Have you ever seen the statue of liberty ? My advice: Try to find out by yourself, how all those film sequences could be faked. Do it just for your return to some more happiness in your life. It must be hell, to doubt even the simpliest things.
