Darren , first off all good for you on taking your bold step . I went to Thailand way back in 1973 and was totally enchanted . I also longed for the culture of my home and fitting in and using my home lingo . You Brits have so much to offer in your home land along with the diversity of long history . I think the break away from home is great . I hope you never get home sick and miss siblings , mates and the rels . good luck from the land Downunder .
I must admit that looks so good! I love smoothies but that is something new to try. If you love something then have as many as you like. You will have to try making it when you get home.
😅 I feel you on this one. Tried it but I'm a caffeine addict so went back to my 2 iced caramel macchiato ones per day from the 7/11. I LIVED for them and still have my taste of Thailand back home for breakfast, not quite the same but the iced caramel latte does the job (only just though!) They have a great selection of iced drinks to try at th 7/11. The condensed milk rocks ❤
I’m looking forward to seeing how life is in Thailand and what it’s actually like to live over there, I can’t lie though I will miss the London videos as I go there once every few years and so it’s nice to know where’s good to eat and visit in London. It makes sense that you’re moving to Thailand though when the UK is just broken beyond repair right now. It’s no fun living here.
You make me belly laugh, 7/11 are amazing cheese toasties there are a fantastic snack, lays crisps, most expensive British chocolate and cheese, have u tried a pad ka prow yet with Thai basil and egg on top, yummy, enjoy your adventure so jealous xx
I remember back 30-40 years ago when we had 7/11’s in the UK, all we did was help ourselves to making slurpees every time we went there. They were everywhere.
It sounds decent, though i would personally struggle to eat and drink the same things repeatedly when you're in one of the most amazing food and drink countries in the world.
His last meals have been sausage, pancake, spaghetti bolognese, scrambled egg on toast, and ham and cheese toastie. I think you can forget about local food haha.
You can make that at home easily. I'd just get some high quality dark chocolate ice cream, a teaspoon of vanila extract, creamer, milk, ice and a banana, blend it up and you're good to go. It would probably taste even better with the ice cream rather than the chocolate powder mix.
Good luck to you mate have what ever makes you happy looks pretty nice 👌 I remember the seven eleven in Earl’s Court fantastic place in the early 90’s my son loved it Take care Darren enjoy the rest of your holiday 🙌🙌👍🏻👍🏻
You know what the secret is, don't you, Darren ? Condensed milk ! I've seen bears going crazy over a can of condensed milk. We Sri Lankans - not all of us - still put condensed milk into our tea, with a splash of vanilla extract. Of course, Brazilians love condensed milk. I've made a Brazilian cake with pineapple, condensed milk, etc. Great idea, Darren, take this drink to England. Like the Red Bull guys with their Guarana drink, you'll make millions !
When u back home try Chopping up 2 Bananas & but in tge Freezer 4 1 hrs! Then put in the blender with Milk & 2 tablespoons of Condensed Milk & 2 tablespoons of Nutella! Yummy! Also works well with Peanut butter!x
25 years ago I was in Krabi, it’s changed a lot I can’t tell. But I will always remember the taste of the pineapples. Just completely different from any I’ve had anywhere else as far as flavour, acidity, juiciness and so refreshing. Grab some of them chocolate packs to take home with you. 😉
Darren, 7/11's are a life saver, the one beside our hotel was open 24/7, my go to refreshing drink was slush puppy, I see you are now in Pattaya, don't forget the golden rule 'what happens in Pattaya stays in Pattaya !!
With out any doubt DJ, Your Gorgeous and Delicious Chocolate and Banana Iced Frappe looked absolutely Off The Charts!!!!!!!. The Perfect Drink to have on a day when the Temp is in the 30's. DJ, you go and have as many of those as you Desire. What Life should all be About. You can have what You want to Eat and Drink, as much as you Want!!!!. You are Living Your Beautiful Dream DJ. Now you are in Pattaya I am looking forward to your upcoming posts. Enjoy and take care. Try Runway Market at night on 2nd Road where the airliner is. Some smashing Thai options await.
The walk around Chinatown in Bangkok was promising and the Khao Soi noodle soup in Chiang Mai, but there's a lack of interesting food afterwards. All very sweet, lots of desserts and cold drinks. If you are going sweet , the array of tropical fruits in Thailand is crazy and for an amazing price by western standards. Apart from Durian, another one I would recommend is Mangosteen, an absolutely unbelievable fruit!
Yeah Darren... 7 Elevens are pretty much everywhere in South East Asia pal... You'll have to buy yourself a Large 2 Litre Food Blender when you get back... As you can always get a hold of the ingredients needed to make them here... Like... Condensed Milk... Whole Milk... Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate... Bags Of Ice Cubes... And Bananas to make your own version Darren... Serve it in a Large 1 Litre Stainless Steel Tumbler... And add in a Long Stainless Steel Straw... As i'm pretty sure that you'll be able to replicate it for yourself Darren... So chin up mate... All is not lost my friend... 🥤 Cheers pal. 🍺
We all grew up on condensed milk during the war, and for many years after. Dad’s 96, mum’s 93, my sister and I in our mid seventies. Far more crap in processed foods these days.
WOW, Darren. Sadly you have fallen into the clutches of the pushers 😱 Yep, hook line and sinker. 45baht in Thailand.(pennies) You have also shown us the terrible industrial injury, that is " whiskers Wrist ", 😂😂 you'll have to set up a support group back here. @@DJsFoodTravels High Darren, this is a joke comment, Sorry you didn't get it. Re your addiction to chconana drinks. Compared to hard drugs. Pushers get the people hooked on their products. Cheap samples, then up the price. Obviously if you find yourself a supplier back in the UK, not going to be as cheap as Thailand. The hand movements of the vendors, made me smile & create the " whiskers Wrist" And as for the support group, a little dig at social trends of being unable to help yourself. Carry on with your holiday.
Trouble is Darren even if they did open a 7 Eleven near where you live I worry that the chocolate banana shakes would not taste the same.. just like the Fanta lemon never tastes as good here as it does in Spain!!!!!🤣
One dude said very sniffingly "we don't have 7/11s in the UK we go to the "corner shop"" ,so with that kind of snobby attitude you probably won't be seeing a 7/11 anytime soon at home. Also, apparently anything sweet or chocolatey is see as "too American" and banned, at least unofficially, so, if Quora was right you're out of luck .
Going to Thailand almost 20 years and never had one. Was there 4 weeks ago. Guess I'll have to wait until February to try one. I see you outside Cheap Charlie's in Pattaya enjoying your banana, chocolate milk shake. 😁

Lol 😆 🤣 😂 Each to their own Darren lol priceless 😅😅❤🎉
It sounds really nice. The ultimate would be to add half an avocado, it doesn't add any flavour, just a creamy, silky texture.
You have smile 😃 on your face ear to ear Darren 😅😅❤🎉
You only live once Darren go for it!! ❤🎉
Enjoyed this Darren. Keep smiling! 🥰☀️🥰xxx
How many calories is in one of them bud😂
Loved the London videos but wasn’t sure why I was watching this , only about a minute when the drink was made was at all interesting 😢
My addiction would be the multitude of spicy dishes Thai food has to offer.
Yes Patrick, mine too. But you can have 3 of these a day easy
@@DJsFoodTravels Darren, you'll have to make a video when you get home creating those shakes .
Any type of shake with bananas in it I'm there.
Me too! I can understand that because it's so hot in Thailand. And their drinks are really good.
If that's the only addiction you've picked up you need to get out more😀😀
😂
I’ll definitely be trying that. Thanks for the info. Here in Pattaya for 5 months.

I don’t get why the channel name has “At empty chairs and empty tables” is there any reason for this?
Maybe you could tell me DJ? Haha
As he goes early so he can film in peace

7/11 in Asia is on another level. Best drinks, snacks, meals and desserts. Wait until you try the Japanese konbini stores. You will lose your mind.
Glad to hear your addicted to chocolate milk in Thailand and not what gary glitter is when he is over there 😂
Darren, it may be a daft question but I got the impression that you quite like the odd one or a hundred chocolate and banana drinks😂😂
You getting back on the egg and bacon when you get home Dazza?

Darren, enjoy those chocolate smoothies while you can, I'm guessing when you get back to the UK it will be straight back onto the cabbage water !!!!
Those chocolate and banana iced milk drinks look lovely. Enjoy them while you are there, although the other flavours on the menu looked good too.
Easy to make when you get back to London. If that is your only vice in Thailand , you're being good ! Lots of luck , stay safe
Lovin all your Thai videos, that looked so refreshing , wish there was a 7 eleven here, take care xx
Loving the Thailand Tour! x

Cold ice red tea is very nice from the street venders .
We need to know how to make those drinks at home. I can almost taste them!
I'd say it's probably fairly easy, looked like cream, milk, choc powder, banana and ice....then blend 😊
Your addicted I'm addicted to you reviews 😁😁
I will have to try one when I go next year! I love the fresh mango pancakes with the customary condensed milk!
good job it tastes better than it looks. superb production, editing and sound.
I was hooked on these in the summer
To be fair DJ not a bad addiction to have. Ive never had 1 and ive lived there many years, i'll give 1 a go next month when im over
This cracked me up. Mate wait till you eventually get to Vietnam. I promise you'll be doing the same with the Egg Coffees 😍😍👌

The strawberry yogurt smoothie from 7/11 is my favourite although has to be drank slowly to avoid brain freeze.
