Thank you for the thorough tour! Cardboard piping that’s insane.

Yep, others have replaced it with the foil you can get from Lowes or HD.

We recently got the 2023 Aliner Scout. Ours is pretty much the same as yours. The main difference is the dormers. Ours are the soft style on either end. We go into bear country a lot so we don’t always use them. The heat pump on heating mode is noisy. There is a fella here on U-tube ( I can’t remember his name ) who insulated the heat pump and piping as well as the storage area and he figured that that cut down the noise by half. Other than that both models seem to be pretty much the same. We really do love to camp in our Scout and I’m sure you well too.

Yep, thus far my wife and I love this trailer. Its a snap to hook up and go. Yep, we camp in bear country too but the bears we encounter are normally easily run off with noise. I am not sure when they moved to a hard dormer vs the soft dormer in the Scout. We almost got the one with out the dormer and am glad we did get it. The extra room is nice at the table. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for posting this video. I was thinking I’d like to upgrade a scout so I wouldn’t be paying for things I didn’t want such as a 3 way fridge. Then I started looking at the E 12 because I really want the hard sided dormers and aluminum framed cabinetry. Now that I know you can buy a Scout equipped this way, I’m inclined to go this route and upgrade a scout and configure how I’d like it. Looking forward to you documenting all of your upgrades and modifications.

Love the simplicity of this model. I camp in a mini van but am thinking for getting a light trailer just for the AC. I do not like to cook, do dishes in the unit and I love there are not lots of systems to break.

Yep, easy maintenance. No tanks of any type. I just wash it and check the seals that are in place every 6 months to ensure all is good. Thanks for watching.

How did you find the scout with a hard dormer? This is our dream but we’re told the scout could only have soft dormers?

    • @bobbykeller55

Yep, I just mentioned that to another viewer. I am not sure when they changed the scout to have an available hard dormer vs a soft dormer. We were lucky I think. We purchased our Aliner from a dealer in PA. Here is a link to the same unit we have (Scout with hard dormer): www.juniatavalleyrv.com/2024-aliner-scout-new-popup-mifflintown-pa-17059-i4188403 This one has the upgraded hard side dormer, the AC/Heat pump unit under the bed (no protruding AC unit) and no propane. This is more money than what we paid in March. Great guys there.

Thanks for the video! How does this fair when you have loud neighbors? One of the reasons we want a camper is because we always find ourselves near people playing music late/being loud at their campfire. I’m curious how well this isolates you from that noise/rainfall noise.

I have not had an issue but it is not totally sound proof. There are seals that are between the panels but they are just that, seals and not sound proofing. I have not camped in it at any loud locations as of yet. I have only been on 6 trips with it thus far.

Thanks for the review; Perhaps you’re not going to use the A/C a lot? But the interior A/C vibrates your bed as you try to sleep and it’s loud on the outside. I would had preferred the wall unit.

I have not experienced that myself. What year is your unit?

Is it possible to buy an a-liner without all the pop outs and air conditioning and extras? Some people just want to Boondock because I don't want cable TV and air conditioning I want to camp and enjoy the outdoors

    • @AutumnLeighRV
      @AutumnLeighRV 2 місяці тому

none of these features prevent you from enjoying the outdoors. theres no added tv, the airconditioning is vented unless you purchase an aliner that has the apartment style AC installed. theres units with just vents for heating and air.

    Looks cheep and uncomfortable,,
The pads are about an inch thick,, the couch has no back to it,, you would have to hunch over to sit back,,
    Hope the cost was low,,
I would have just got one gutted and do the inside build myself

I have a 2020. Within the first year all the cabinet doors fell off. Poor workmanship! Before you buy one take a tour underneath and check out frame it is definitely not for off road, unless your willing to put a lot of time and money in it.
While you are under it check out how they connect the electronic break line across the axel.
My buddy bought a new 2023. The first door fell off before he got it home and the duct for the furnace was not connected to the vent.
This is a wonderful design however, the workmanship really sucks.
After a lot of work my 2020 is really reliable but a lot of changes. My opinion, the new ones aren't worth the money unless you're really handy!!

This is what I keep thinking from looking at videos and reviews. Such a shame they can’t manage to make better use of this design, but hi h is truly exceptional for so many people. There new amp model looks to be so much better, but wow the price went up.
Why they can’t use real ducting and quality door hardware on the lower end models is so understand.

I have been on 6 trips with my Aliner. I have not experienced any issues with build quality. I got the pretty much stripped down model so I could include what I wanted. My doors are still hanging tight :) Yes, this model is not built for off road. They do make a model that is supposedly specific for off road. I am unsure of the difference in the frame, axels and so forth. I know I would not take mine off road unless it was just gravel.
