Why you have to graft??? Why not let the seedlings grow? Won't they hold fruits???

Leena it can speed up the fruiting process which can take many years, or also introduce non-native varieties. It still gets to use the “local tree” root system, but produces fruits that may not be readily available in the country. Mango is the best example of this I’ve seen in northern Ghana - the Ghanaian mango is very small and has stringy flesh. So they’ve grafted branches that will produce larger and more “cut-able” fruit into the local trees, which have a more suitable root system.
