- After delivering two thrilling races at Monza, the Ferrari Challenge Europe returns this weekend at the Prancing Horse-owned Mugello Circuit. After a round one, one of the most expert drivers in the Coppa Shell has already begun pulling ahead of the field. We’re referring, of course, to Erich Prinoth of Ineco-MP Racing who just missed out on a double victory at Monza, finishing second in Race 1 and winning Race 2 at the end of a spectacular performance. His nearest rival is Belgian Kessel Racing driver Jacques Duyver eight points behind while in third is the most consistent of the drivers on the track, Gautam Singhania (Kessel Racing), who made it to the third step of the podium at Monza twice.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've always thought it was perfectly normal practice to go into a turn too fast, bump the car on my outside for braking, and pass him as he goes off the course.These guys are stealing my tricks.

Can't believe the guy driving the wrong way a 2:00 min didn't get his racing license revoked right there. You NEVER drive the wrong way on a racetrack. Especially if you see cars approaching!!! What a reckless and stupid move.

Firstly, I'm by no means a professional racing driver but I feel like the Singhania driver could've easily avoided the crash in Race 2.

What a shame for the "Ferrari Challenge"
Why not save the time and just drop a paveway into the starting lineup. It would be safer as at least the series might end. I can't even blame the drivers. The organizers and tracks should be ashamed for letting these amateurs race, the local governments certainly should shut them down.
+Robert Szasz It is an amateur series, that why they let Amateurs race. "Corse Clienti" litereally means "customer racing". The track is owned by Ferrari.
togethia I understand, it's that these particular amateurs shouldn't be allowed to race in the manner they are. Open your checkbook wide enough and you are in, that's the same as many other amateur events across sport. All the others have a line where if you are unable to be in control you are kicked out, here you just have to spread your wallet a bit wider. When someone does get killed in a crash, Ferrari will be the murderer.
+Robert Szasz Motorsport is dangerous, but your interpretation is melodramatic. Whilst the racing here in
this one race is not very clean, it boils down to two drivers having "spat". Gautam Singhania was taken out by those two drivers but that is racing. Compared to Alonso's "crash" behaviour and Michael Schumachers dreadful bad sportsmanship driving in some instances in F1 this is small fry. There is nothing significantly worse than even Formula one "horseplay on track".
+First and Ten Productions an important difference is who funds the campaigns. In F1 owners can fire and have fired drivers who get out of hand. With amateurs, that responsibility falls on the race organizers. Look at international bigboat sailing. overall cost can be in the same order of magnitude with owner participation and risks. However race organizers and international sanctioning bodies accept their responsibility to mitigate risk is more important than the racers wishes. What were the penalties if any faced by the drivers who caused the wreck.
+Robert Szasz I get the impression you think this series is unregulated and not subject to the same rules, regulations and penalties of other series or events, rest assured it is heavily regulated and bad driving is subject to stewards enquries just as much as any other races. You wrongly assume that because this is a gentleman racer series that somehow the money involved overrides the way the series is governed and that is not true. GT3 and the WEC are dominated by drivers who pay for the privilege to race just as much as this series. Just because you witnessed some aggressive or even stupid driving does not mean the whole series is dominated by people who supposedly "can't drive"... We see a lot of talk on these comments and mostly from kids who are keyboard warriors typing something up between getting home from school and before their mums serve them their tea. Whilst you are not in that category I/we think you might benefit from some research into this race series and perhaps watch some of the other rounds and the finals from last year also on the Togethia channel.
What can't be done on public roads they'll do it to themselves in closed circuit.
They should stick to being in the back seat, getting chaffeured around.

Why are people so negative about the Challenge series ? You buy Forza or Assetto Corsa, they buy a Ferrari 458 Challenge. To each their own pals...
Kaisuke971 Because this is actually destroying real cars worth a lot of money for what can't be much satisfaction from both drivers and spectators. Can't just pause and go back to the pits.
It's so painful to watch.
People can complain or they can figure out they would buy one of these cars and do the same thing as the drivers we see here. Nobody is perfect.

This is hands down some of the worst racing I've ever seen. The drivers are no idea what the hell they are doing, 7:38 being a prime example of this.
