As someone who is binge watching JOB vlogs in quarantine 2020, it was around this time that people realized Jackson was pretty darn good. And only got better.
Couldn't see the waves because of the sand berm. Try the Southside of Balboa pier too. It's more walled, more like cylinders! But totally fun, 15th street can be fun too... someday I will come down and see you surf soon. Thanks Jaime
Your "psyched" levels are - off-the-charts! I haven't been THAT psyched (to drive all the way down from the real LA - Wedge : LA as Waikiki : Pipeline), to surf 2-3'+ Wedge - since the late 1980's. I'm not sure if that's just me getting old... Or the fact that the Army Corps. of Engineers kinda ruined the shape back in 1996 - when they took out the "poles" on the Jetty, and added more rocks (changing the steepness of the Jetty itself - meaning less sidewave energy, particularly when small). But I'm glad you've still got the frothing intensity to make the long haul. Me... I tend to wait 'til I'm pretty sure that it will be 🔥. I'm joining Team Jen - because she's on Team Cross-Step. I'd like to see what happens for her on a slightly more old-school log - without the training fins... I suspect that she'd be banking even harder on the rebounds - because the turns become a little bit slower, and more drawn-out. But, congratulations to her on the win. Cheers. I'll be PSYCHED when our SoCal surf drought comes to an end... It looks like a recurving Super Typhoon Hagibis just might do that for us... I'm guessing that it will already have started-off your North Shore Winter, by the time the swell gets to us in here California. With a little luck, we'll get a couple more South Swells before the Summer offically ends, as well.👀
