Okay !! I think this old man is only one in the world who has so much knowledge about old radios, he is simply great, he can restore any old radios, in fact old radios find hope in him.
Your videos bring me back to the days when my father ,who started repairing radios in 1945 and then tv in 47 , taught me to work on these old sets , he's been gone for over 20 years, because of you , I started playing around with them again
yeah !! Glaslinger, congratulations old war friend !! I loved your service on Zenith radio, it was great !! and I liked to see you adapt a transformer, because it didn't have! I liked Glaslinger very much my congratulations, all the best and hugs from your great friend Ricardo sales franz gunart.
Great video, I love watching you change the caps it’s so relaxing when you do it, when I’m doing it I’m holding my breath until they are all done. All of your restorations are beautiful. Thank you.
Great to see you back on here working on the radios again. I ve watched all of your videos and learnt an awful lot from you. You make it all appear so very easy. I,ll watch this again and again. I currently own a Zenith transoceanic wave portable radio set. Beautifully built thing. Glad to see you here working on things once again. Paul from Ipswich Suffolk , Great Britain.
I love to run your videos with the closed captions on and the sound off. It allows me to hear the screams of anguish, gnashing of teeth, followed by expletives of unbelief from the purists when your finished project works! There IS more than one way to repair and enjoy an old radio in your lifetime!
For some reason UA-cam unsubscribed me and I thought there were no more new videos for a year! Come to find out you have been fixing stuff the whole time. Love the vids!!!
Hello glasslinger, it is a pleasure to learn with your videos, I have never seen someone with such good knowledge with valve radios, a pleasure to follow .
Those old Zeniths sound great! The AM on modern receivers and expensive car stereos do not have the sound, nor do they have the clarity in the upper frequencies, nor the bass and presence these great old radios have. You can tell you have done lots of old radios! Your whole channel is so full of knowledge!
4 hours? 4 hours? It would have spent most of that time looking for the plug only to realize it doesn’t exist. You have a great talent. Thanks for sharing.
Impressive, the whole way 'round! While nowhere near Zenith's most extravagant, this is one beautiful example, of what Zenith was able to do with great circuit design, and you've done a stellar job of giving it life, once again. I worked for a Zenith dealer in the mid - '70s; the owner had been with Zenith since 1934, and had been gifted with a Stratosphere at some point, prior to 1940. While that Strat was impressive, his favorite, was a farm radio - of an earlier vintage, with its power having been supplied by a vintage power supply - built within two wooden vintage Cooper "CV Sharp" cheese boxes.
You never fail to impress... truly you are a wizard! I just brought home a 1936 RCA farm radio and plan to do a similar conversion. Perfect timing with this video.
We had a similar Zenith at home when I was a kid. The chassis was pure copper. Of course, the darned thing was too old to be in working shape and I think that the chassis was worth more than the radio in those days. It was a console radio, sat on the floor, had the same tuning dial but a muich larger speaker.
Bascom ohio. Circa 1957-58 several farms had little money on hand. so the family's. Had to share labour. Each Saturday night till late November. There was a big feed.put on the table. The radio fed on 36 volt./delco/wind Mill gen and served by a delco gen running off a John deer poper. (Tractor by belt drive.) Every time Minny perl. Would hollar" howdy". The tractor would have a conniption fit. Trying to keep up. 1970 the farms were sold. Still miss the fun with Minny and Grandpa. Tks
Do You make the dresses your self? I realy love them! I just got a better sewingmachine and some new fabric for my wintercreations, i love to make dresses.
I jeszcze dodam , że bardzo się cieszę, że znowu dodałeś ciekawy film. Czekam na twoje prace w szkle. Bardzo mnie interesują twoje palniki do szkła. Mszana Dolna , POLSKA Adam Misiaszek
Ron, as you can see.... Your subscribers are always happy to see any new videos you publish. Do you still have your glass working equipment? It would be very cool to see one of these commercial radios with one of your home brew tubes as part of the circuit. It can be as simple as an RF preamp, or part of an AF chain. Please continue!
OMG ... I had given up on Glasslinger. He's one of the original channels ( along with Shango066,radiotvphononut,ect) that I watched when i began restoring vintage radios a couple of years ago. I' m glad your back and hope your well.
I glad you are back love your videos ,I no you are the expert, but I think if that was my radio I would ask that all the old capiciators be replaced for my piece of mind ,a Leakie cap is a Leakie cap .but that just me .I hope you will do many more videos.
I think that I would have preferred to have left the radio in original condition and designed a separate power supply - something that looked a little like it would have in the 1940's (but running on mains of course). Great to see you back by the way.
This was for a customer that wanted it to plug in like a normal radio. I could have put the power supply in the original box but he said he wanted it like it is now.
How do you know that the .5 uF cap in the beginning of the video is "not necessary"? Some sort of bypass? I probably would have replaced it not knowing any better. You've done a lot of these to know what is and isn't necessary. Nice looking radio! THANKS! 🙌
Have no fear, Glasslinger's here! Nicely done. I love the no hesitancy in your approach, like cutting the hole in the chassis for the power transformer. Also love the fact you have the transformer on hand, or so it appears. I think I would have used L brackets to mount the transformer, and kept it above the chassis. That's because I'm chicken! 😜. It looks like there were other parts mounted in those locations. True?
The old vibrator power supply was mounted there. I wanted the radio to look nice so I went to the trouble of cutting the chassis to mount the transformer. In junkier radios I have used JB Weld to hold the transformer to the chassis!
its always a great day when you get a new glasslinger video
reviews and repairs yes because it is my birthday
I know it is kinda off topic but do anybody know a good place to watch new movies online ?

Just a few days ago, I was wondering how you were doing. Glad to see you back. Hope you are fine and healthy.
Exactly this
Your videos bring me back to the days when my father ,who started repairing radios in 1945 and then tv in 47 , taught me to work on these old sets , he's been gone for over 20 years, because of you , I started playing around with them again

Amazing to see someone who can simply look at these old units and know them like the back of their own hand. Inspiring stuff!
Hello glasslinger, it is a pleasure to learn with your videos, I have never seen someone with such good knowledge with valve radios, a pleasure to follow .
It's an honor watching a master at work.
Those old Zeniths sound great! The AM on modern receivers and expensive car stereos do not have the sound, nor do they have the clarity in the upper frequencies, nor the bass and presence these great old radios have.

Sorted! No drama. Just done. Most excellent.
We had a similar Zenith at home when I was a kid. The chassis was pure copper.
