An 80s song that never gets played, even on dedicated 80s radio programmes.
Had this on Now 11, way back in ‘88.
Still love it and listening to it in 2021.
I listen to it in '23. 😎
2024
Tune just popped into my head, a quick search and here i'am. Still sounds great after all these years
I found this song too...and i play it when I am at my limit....
I never knew this was FYC in another life. It's interesting how you can trace it back to TwoTone, and from there back to reggae and punk. House music definitely seems to be the grandson of punk whichever way you look at it.
1998, 35 years on in 2023…house at its simple best! The '2 Men' are David Steele and Andy Cox at the time members of Fine Young Cannibals. They first recorded together as members of UK ska band The Beat. Pretty talented stuff
Oh to go back to that era, I’d be young again!!!
Absolutely a fabulous hit in the 80s needs to be rereleased 👍👍
undeniable: the mid 80's to mid 90's were the best, better than our current days.
I once saw a tribute band called; 'Two men a jumper and a knitting machine'. God i miss the 80's.
I had a house mix tape that had this on it. Danced endlessly in my bedroom to it.
GREAT this side line project of fine young cannibals but loved these two guys when they were in the beat i loved that band but also everything from then to FYC to this so much talent.
NOW 11... just a great album.
Side 4 was life changing for me
Gramme Hamilton on trumpet, met him in Goa in 2013 , what a guy ! Release this track again now and sure it will be a hit again !
Met him here in Goa about 2 weeks ago playing some excellent reggae over in Anjuna :) Lovely man , true humanitarian :)
When this song came out the samples in it were from a movie 40 years in the past. Today this song is 36 years in the past.
Full volume with headphones on groovin to this ultimate eighties house vibe, takes you back hey ? Good ,sill sounds amazing decades later. May 2020 😎😎 👍👍 😎😎 🎹🎸🎺
Can't believe I've never heard this before!
One of my all time faves, bought this on Vinyl
Andy and Dave Class
This brings back some memories..
David Nicholson they won't re release this too much rubbish in the charts these days these were some of the best charts ever .loved 1988
Amazing to think these 2 were behind Fine Young Cannibals , they also made the soundtrack to 'Trains, Planes and Automobiles' and they stretch back as far as The Beat
Awesome came here after watching fine young cannibals...the guy dancing with his geetar is mesmorising
Um... F*** yea! I've been looking for this tune for a while... never seen the video... Bloody cool!
What a top song from 1988
David Steele is a friend of one of the volunteers at the garden project I used to work at in Moseley, Birmingham. He popped in to see us once. He is a really nice guy.
That's really cool I love everything he ever did in music hope he is as good at gardening Cheers
I'm not sure about his gardening skills but he seemed very interested in our project and the various things we had growing there at the time.
I was just watching the film "Build My Gallows High" and as soon as I heard that line it reminded me of this track.
sooooo goooood ilistend to this like a routine in the 90s and still now people think im crazy
I remember being delirious or drunk whilst watching this video for the first time on MTV, during my first trip to Sydney in 1988. Still a freaky song today ❤
WAS JUST LOOKING THROUGH MY RECORD COLLLECTION AND I HAVE THIS
This takes me waaaaay back!! 👍
Friday tune , still love it 😁😁
Absolute classic song, thanks for uploading ❤🤘😬
Capitol radio should play the old dance tunes like this
THIS IS IN FASHION NOW ha. Jesus tracks like this on BBC late nite. Re release incoming

Philip Smith YES!
Watching top of the pops 88 name intrigued me and wow
Thanks for posting, you saved me from searching the thin jewelbox of the CD single in my rather big collection.
Heh, no problem ;)

Class
Still a tune
Super video !
What a tune. Searched Apple Music to add it to a playlist but it’s not available. Argh.
It’s under Fine Young Cannibals The Finest album
Yeahhh....... those were the days, optimistic era.⬆⬆
That man in pink shirt is quite sexy saying Tired Of Getting Pushed Around
There’s a link from these guys to Fine Young Cannibals if I remember correctly. Member Berries needed.
They are FYC minus Roland Gift. They were also The Beat minus Dave Wakeling before that.😁
Yes they did this whilst Roland Gift was acting in Sammy and Rosie Get Laid
Wee Papa Girl Rappers! Producers
“Now do you wanna talk business, or do ya wanna play house?”
so much better than the shite being produced today - god i love 80s music
Reminds me that The Style Council recorded a House album, I know it was released as part of a complete box set but am not sure if it was later released on its own? Weller probably did to rack in a few more pretty greens?!
I wonder if thats the one that had the Gospel/House influenced “Promised Land” on it 🤔
*Choooooooon*
Does anyone Know who's Actors Voice Says, Tired of getting Pushed Around
Ähnlich wie Yello. TUNAY ZONE MUSIC
Out of The Past brought me here.
Im actually looking for that clip used in memes playing a trumpet and one hitting the oven
Alfred Hitchcock on cymbols.😂😂😂
Who's the Ron Jeremy looking dude?
The beat then FYC then this 😅
Came here because I just realised what film the 2 lines were sampled from
Me too, just read about it on IMDB
And a guitar.
Geez I wonder why this didn't go gold. Jk it sucks lol
Anyone know who the young lady in the film clip is? She's stunning.
Possibly Yazz....? Or Lisa Stanfield... Both had similar looks, and were involved in the dance music scene then.
@@keithcaffray6523 thanks mate but definitely not Yaz or Lisa. I suspect she may just be a model masquerading as a musician for the sake of the video.
Commercial crap!!
However the jazz dancers are World class.
The only video in the history of man where white men actually have better rhythm
Brilliant.from January/February 1988
