    Oh I’m so glad to see a preserving video, I’m in Melbourne Australia and rely on youtube to steer me. I do have a Presto 23 and have followed you for the last four years. I love this sauce as I will add herbs and spices and use with game meat like venison, wild boar and even turkey (hubbies cousins farm). I had a huge change last year as we sold our acreage which I had planted all edibles. I have canned blackberry juice and also have jars of plum sauce already so will go ahead soon. You are a real inspiration so please keep going.

    Are you like me and have to place your jars all pretty on the counter so that they look their best when you or anyone else walks into the kitchen after canning? 😂🤣 Blackberry is my favourite jelly and plum my favourite jam. Adding the peppers sounds interesting. 👏🏻👍🤗

    Looks great. One of my favorite flavor blend is something I had in a restaurant used
    To dip shrimp and chicken. Was pineapple, apricots, a little horseradish for heat, sugar.
    Have been dreaming about this. Can get pineapple now and freeze...missed apricots
    Next year...that’s what I’d like to jar up. Have done preserves using chia seeds instead of pectin...came out pretty darn good. Awaiting next video!

    Oh wow, another wonderful jam recipe. You are the best, Linda. I am adding this recipe to my future canning list :) Us Aussies are not blessed with the abundance of berries. I have a young plum tree and I grow peppers, so I just buy the berry for this recipe. I love the colour. Yummy!

    Beautiful. I love making jelly and jams but I have to get the blackberry seeds out but the the pepper seeds would be ok. I would simply put the berries through my hand mill and use the pulp.

    Looks amazing! I'd have to run it through the Victorio food strainer having issues with seeds but I agree the seeds make the jars pretty.

    This could be used as a flavor layer on a grilled cheese made with crusty bread. We have wild blackberries on our land.

    this spring I may have access to apricots and mulberry....can you give us a video showing how to make jelly/jam out of those and can them? Id like to recreate that this spring here when the apricots are ready to start being picked. They are usually ahead of the mulberrys by a few weeks. Thanks

    Oh I wish I could get over raspberry and BlackBerry seeds, but I hate them and it spoils the enjoyment of the jam for me, but I know I would enjoy that very much seedless 👍😍

    • @lolajane1452
      @lolajane1452 5 років тому

      You could you use a food mill to get rid of the seeds once they cook down then add them back in the pot and continue to process them

    • @lolajane1452
      @lolajane1452 5 років тому

      Just start off cooking them separately. put them through the food mill then add them to your plums and peppers that are cooking and continue with the process.

    Linda. Great video. Do you ever have a difficult time with the 4 oz jars sealing? I have had extreme problems like 1 out of 4 sealing. All other sizes seal fine. Very frustrating. Reprocess as many as 3 times. Been canning a long time. What's your thoughts?

    This jam made me think of a recipe I watched a few years ago by the Two Fat Ladies, they are fun to watch. Anyway at 18:30 she sears up some venison backstrap medallions, puts a dollop of bramble jelly on them then covers them in a rich creme sauce..... your Blackberry Plum Hot Pepper Jam would be PERFECT for her recipe. ua-cam.com/video/zXjwEyXIgno/v-deo.html
