    Spicy? KCD is spicier, ha ha. Tbh I want this to continue to fail harder and slide into obscurity. I can't unsee what they did to Thedas, the glorification of a genocidal madman, the contempt in which they treated our inquisitor and the few returning characters. contempt for the lore, dismissal of our choices. It hit me so hard that on my last Inquisition playthrough I could not do Trespasser and just stopped at the original ending. Solas got benched and I never conversed with him. Knowledge of the Veilguard has negatively impacted my Inquisition experience and I can't and won't forgive EA for that. I've only done Inq on 2 chars, it should have been good for a lot more replays, as Origins was. I now view Trespasser as the beginning of the end for this franchise.

      I had a good laugh too when they've announced that romances will be 'spicy' somewhere during the summer when they were promoting the game. Such liars! But what else to expect from ZombieWare at this point. 😏
      Your experience mirrors what I heard already from a few other people as well - that they're now taking a step back from the entire franchise and probably just replay the first 2 games later. At this time many people are careful with Inquisition as they see it a bit differently after Veilguard and this just says a lot about how badly the new game is impacting the entire franchise and the old fanbase.
      The whole controversy with KCD is now I think just all the more a positive marketing for Warhorse Studios. What can I say - I don't like 1st person games, but I've bought now KCD 1 and will probably buy & play also KCD 2! 😂👍
      Thanks a lot for the comment & also for watching of course! 🙂

      @@ChattySisa. I have finished watching the video.
      I share the same opinion. I have been a fan of this franchise since the beginning. I was really disappointed by what happened with Veilguard.
      I cannot even call the game Dragon Age, it feels very disconnected.
      I finished the game, and uninstalled it as soon as the credits rolled. And I was left even with guilt for having contributed to the sales.

      @@SeventhheavenDK Yes, the game is really not resembling Dragon Age - if you wouldn't have some recognizable characters in it, then it might as well be just another fantasy action game, but not even a good one.

      At this time I really don't have that much hope that the new Mass Effect game will be on par with the original trilogy. I'd be surprised if it even comes close to Andromeda. And I wouldn't wonder if after the next ME game release people will go back to Andromeda and say that it's a 'masterpiece' compared to the new ME game. And so Bioware got the new audience they were building for, but didn't take into account how fast they'd all bounce when the next hot thing released in games. Meanwhile, one year later Larian is still pulling larger concurrent player numbers with BG3 and all they do is drop patches that give players QoL and some fleshed out content while they are in early dev with their next new game. (Oops, we're not supposed to mention That New Bar set by Larian to AAA Studios, lest they get all riled). Hell, even CDPR with Cyberpunk 2077 just dropped some new QoL features that will drive the player base back in for another replay. And gods bless them for dropping the Witcher 4 cinematic at the Game Awards tonight. Ciri!! Confirmed canon ending!! Ciri!! But this vid is about you, Bioware: you keep doing you, now we know for real what to expect going forward.

    • @ChattySisa
      @ChattySisa  Місяць тому +5

      ZombieWare got the 'new audience', but if we look at those numbers, that 'new audience' will definitely not be able to sustain them if they continue to produce this kind of garbage instead of the quality they were able to put into their games a few years back. 😏
      Regarding the new Witcher game - I'm not thrilled about Ciri as the main protagonist honestly. I understand that many people are, but for me this is not in line with the book lore/canon. And regarding The Witcher I'm probably here having that one particular franchise, where I'm that 'old fashioned canon purist', who only recognizes the books as the only true canon & lore source. 😎
      I know, terribly uptight. But as much as I don't care in other franchises about smaller lore deviations, I definitely do especially with The Witcher - it was the first big fantasy saga I fell in love with in the 90s and for me only Sapkowski's original books are true canon. And those are pretty clear on Ciri's role in his world, also very very clear on who and how can be a Witcher, etc. Add on top of that how unlikeable she was in this new trailer - as if they were trying to make a second Yennefer out of her, which is again awful to me. 🤷‍♀️
      I get that there are people who will be hyped for the game, but I think this is a huge missed opportunity in creating something completely new. And making her 'a Witcher' goes also against many gamer's decisions, who chose a different ending in their TW3 playthrough. At this point I'm honestly very disappointed, but I'll probably make a vid with a bit more in-depth explanation on why I'm not thrilled at this time.
      In any case thanks a ton for watching & for the comment - much appreciated! 🙂

      Haven't actually heard that yet, so it's hard to judge, but honestly - it looks like the game was done by people who wanted to use it as a vessel to deal with their own personal problems instead of creating a good game for the majority of gamers. So I wouldn't be surprised if something like this would have been another motivator for including the nonsense into the game that we've seen...

      Yep, you might be right there with the all time number. Your prediction on the sales looks also spot on.
      There have been in the past few days many "leaks" floating around - from 1 mio to 3 mio $ - however nothing official and I find the 3 mio $ number inflated by all those giveaways they did (like the bundle with Nvidia's GeForce e.g.), so I don't think it sounds feasible - at least not at this time. Those 2 mio $ might be an all time number, but who knows how ZombieWare will tweak the numbers internally for them to look good... 😏

    I will probably not play it. The reason i loved BG2 as a kid was the tactical combat, where you could pause and direct your party. I mainly like origins for its similar tactics and the story, the quests where great, esp. the major ones like the dwarf kings and the magic anvil. As i understand it, Veilguard has no tactical gameplay, and the story is from what i heard, lukewarm, without any roleplay elements. I think i will skip this.

    • @ChattySisa
      @ChattySisa  27 днів тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching & for the comment!
      That missing tactical element is one of the things I've seen as a downgrade. This is something that's been criticized already when Mass Effect Andromeda released - the use of only 3 skills, the lack of control over your companions, the long cooldowns... While in Andromeda the combat was still fun because you're using modern firearms, so you can keep you enemies at bay in the meantime, with a fantasy game where you're using mainly weapons suited to close range combat, these changes are rather negative.
      Then there's the atrocious writing and the story wasn't so great for me either. I've watched 2 different full playthroughs with different endings and I'll be honest - I don't see why some people were praising the game's finale or the last 2-3 hours. For me personally the whole game was a big disappointment with too many aspects that just didn't work or were outright bad.

    All that has to happen to turn things around is to fire all toxic idpol activists from their development teams, ESPECIALLY leadership. I blame “Corinne” Busch for it’s failure and his insistence that the character creator be limited to the male body plus estrogen injections.

    • @ChattySisa
      @ChattySisa  21 день тому +1

      I definitely agree with you, but realistically from what we've seen in the past few years - it's especially people like that who tend to be promoted instead of fired. And it's usually the good hard working veterans who have made the previous games in a franchise great who are laid off or otherwise pushed out of the studios. As the saying goes - a fish stinks from the head and I would wish the gaming industry finally understood that.

      That would be consistent with how they proceeded so far. I agree with you here that it looks awfully suspicious - especially comparing to the overall player counts and the stats we have not just on Steam. It's just another way how they're trying to influence the gamers to increase the sales before the year is over. They must be really desperate.
      Combine that with some additional people suddenly leaving the studio now (like e.g. the writer Sylvia Feketekuty, who has recently left the studio after 15 years) and you're really getting the feeling that the employees are already in a panic starting to quickly look for new jobs before they get all laid off... This is what bothers me so in recent years not just in games, but also in movies, etc. The need of the industry to destroy or get rid of anything from the past while they're not realizing that it's the past movies/games/books etc. why the people fell in love with the IP in the first place.
      Including elements from the past helps the viewers/gamers/readers to connect to the newer content. If it doesn't include the past, then people won't care as it might just as well be any other random new movie/game/book out there, which they're not interested in.

I was aghast after watching those reviews and clips from the game. I ended up going back to Elder Scrolls Online and bought Farming Simulator 25 instead. Yeah, I happen to like farming games now and then. IMO this game signals the end of Bioware. I'm especially after this year already at a point where I refuse to pre-order any games. While there are some I'm really looking forward to, especially this year has taught me to wait for the release and see some feedback/first reviews before deciding whether I'm going to buy the game or not. There's this proverb saying 'I'm not rich enough to buy cheap things.' and for me that goes for the games - especially in these current years.
      What I've also noticed is the increase of people who seem to be blind and bury their heads in sand before a game is released, but when we already have plenty of information riddled with red flags. I get it, that people are looking forward to something they've been waiting for for a long time - I was waiting for the game 10 years too - and that they don't want to believe that a famous studio could botch it and produce a mediocre/bad game. But pretending that everything's going to be fine and completely ignoring the signs that it isn't, is only going to contribute to an even bigger disappointment once the game is out and we all realize that the red flags have been in fact the right hint of what's going to happen...
      For me at this point the next Mass Effect game is something I've stopped looking forward to after seeing what ZombieWare did to Dragon Age with Veilguard. I have zero trust in the current people at the studio and if they ever finish the game, I'm already bracing myself mentally to see just another one of my beloved franchises being completely destroyed by these people. Unfortunately.

      The game has in general many weak points and only very little positives to offset the bad taste it leaves behind. I think it's been overall also having a negative effect on the previous games - at least Inquisition, as many people are saying they're now viewing the game differently knowing what happens in Veilguard.
      This was in general not a game that should have had the name Dragon Age tied to it. The general poor quality has been most probably the last nail in the franchise's coffin and as you're saying a huge insult to the original fanbase.
