This video is not financial advice, it is my opinion only.
Is a KILO of gold any good? I think gold is an amazing asset and everybody should own some of it.
I think that owning gold is a very good thing, that does not mean it is right for everybody. In this video I will explain some of my opinions about why I think gold is a superior choice of metals for the uncertain future that lies ahead of us all in these crazy time we live in.
Gold is the means by which countries operate and settle debt, silver is the means by which individuals operate and settle debt. They are completely different and Gold is so much less easily manipulated and much more globally stable

I just broke a kilo of gold (32.75 ozt) this month! Onward and upward. (Not to mention the tube of silver maples I bought today as well 😉)
Nice man, did you get my email by the way?
@@BackyardBullion JUST got caught up with my emails today on Sunday. Thanks, brother!
Yankee Bazooka?! 😆👍🏼🇺🇸
32.151 ozt.. You’re OVER the kilo! 😉👏
Ozt Troy are heavier than avpd ozt
Gold is money just average Joe forgot about it and fell in love with paper.
For sure
Gold is the money of kings
Silver is the money of gentlemen
Barter is the money of peasants
Debt is the money of slaves
/s
Gold has been used for 1000s of years as money and a symbol of wealth, it will continue to be for 1000s more years. Preppers are dumb about gold and silver. No market ever existed based on purely barter. Money of some sort was always used.
@@BackyardBullion 6à
I used to spend £100 in whetherspoons and night clubs on a weekly basis.
Im sure i can invest in 1-2 grams of gold a week.
Or at the very least, a month
A kilo of gold is about 120 full sovereigns, enough to inflation proof retirement fiat income for 10 - 12 years.
Saving for 20 years at 6 sovereigns a year is probably the best private pension fund that one can rely on.
I didnt start saving sovereigns until I was in my early 60s, so its never too late.
Any significant bullion gold you have, is more than most people have, so get it while you still can.
Great insights, thanks for sharing Harry!
If it wasn't for youtube I would never have even considered saving like this. 41 now and just getting started. Good video, good advice , cheers
Thanks for the feedback
@@onecanmadman agreed. 48 here and started this year as well after seeing a few UA-cam videos and reading a book.
It’s actually just over 136 full sovereigns to be 1 kilo of pure gold. Remember sovereigns are not pure gold but 22ct
Happy to say I crossed the kilo mark in 2020, and now 25% of the way to a second kilo, with 90 kilos of silver for icing on the cake. I have sold silver to trade for gold, but never the other way around. Even with higher premiums for silver, sometimes it's easier to pick up 10oz or so of silver at a time with intentions of eventually flipping for gold rather than sitting on cash that may get spent before there's enough of it for an ounce of gold.
Holy Golden Trousers Batman, nice work my friend!
My silver has shrunk to 20 kg to the benefit of 2kg of gold, I feel that I have total control in event of a melt down, pun intended.
Nice, that is stunning!
@@BackyardBullion your enthusiasm is infectious, I have a germ of an idea, melting 10 x 1oz of 2016 gold britannias into an 10oz BYB bar as a podcast feature?
Holy moly that would be amazing, but it would have to be a very rich man to let me melt down 10 oz of gold for them!
Everybody should own a kilo of gold - while the median bank account balance in the US in 2020 was under $6000...
Right? Out of touch much? Those bank accounts be bleeeeeeedin too
He says 1 kilo over a lifetime. It is possible. Buy around 1 troy ounce a year and you’ll have accumulated it in 30 years. I purchase 2 each year from a median income.
I know that I’m over a third of the way there. Not to mention the silver pile
In another video: This is why everybody should own a large mansion accompanied by a luxury Yacht and a private jet!!!
Many don't keep all there money in the bank. Especially criminals. Alot of cash hidden in ditches.
Over 3 kilos and still stacking it adds up fast been stacking since 1987 still luv every coin great video
Always appreciate your advice and thoughts. And totally agree. I only have a few grams of gold but hope to increase that soon
Good to know, thanks for sharing
Any amount of gold is great . Start where ever you can afford to and grow . The journey is very exciting and as fun as buying to me .👍😃
For sure, start with whatever you feel is best for you!

You are so welcome!
4 gold coins a year, over the course of 5 years... Plus some silver mixed in, and everything's lovely.
Good way to do it!
Sure, many people make 15 an hour, NGTH!!!
I never liked the idea of UA-cam contents creators showing their stacks. But I am glad you did for this one because it puts into perspective how actually acquirable 1 kilo of gold is. if you take it small bite by small bites you can get there before you know it. 😉
I don't believe in full stack videos, but I hope my content speaks for itself.
In sales there is a saying " by the inch its a cinch, by the yard its hard". I believe that to be true with PMs.
A kilo?, holy shit I’m lucky if I can complete an ounce worth this year!
Still, an ounce every year will be a kilo in 30 years
@@BackyardBullion I was going to say... an oz per year from 25 to 55 or 30 to 60 or however you want to cut it
I’m gonna shoot for 2-3 a year if I can
Yep took me a year for the first ounce. I gave up and just working away on 1/10oz coins regularly
Well where price of gold goes this year gold will get slower to stack
My buying strategy is to buy gold and silver every few months when I have vacation days. In the time between I can save up. Currently 25 years old. I will stack gold and silver for the time when I will be and old man with grand kids. So thankfull that my father showed me gold.
I agree. My original aim was to have enough sovereigns to sell one a month for first 5 years of retirement (60 coins ) , but I didn't stop when I reach that goal. Don't buy larger weights though a) too expensive b) you can't break it up if you only need to liquidate a small part. Stick to a combination of 1/4oz and 1oz sizes.
Thanks for sharing, that is very interesting to get your take on it!
I own 3.88 Kg Gold and over 4000 Oz Silver, I don’t consider myself “wealthy”.
Rather; persistent, determined and hardworking.
1kg of gold is attainable... But silver is a better investment.
I subscribed to your channel. Have you ever sold any of your gold or silver for a profit before?
@@MrThe1234guy not yet.... Really not my strategy at this point. I’m looking at a long term hold and only sell by absolute necessity or massive opportunity
My first big purchase was in 2014. 200 Oz silver at 20.20. And 3 Oz of gold at 1330. Glad I did!
SELL THE SILVER & BUY GOLD INSTEAD
Just made my first goldcoin purchase earlier today diversifying my hard assets. It was a Corona coin for this day and age fittingly. Btw, Nice set of kilo there. Thanks for your videos to challenge my mindset!
good to know, thanks for sharing!
I bought my first 1 oz gold bullion. A QB's Completer bullion.
The only others I have are 1887 sov and 1/2 sov, and a 2017 sov.
Nice coins all of those
BYB thanks for another great video. Your gold stack is looking great... I have that final Queen's Beast coin on order to complete my set... (1/4 ounce size in all the rest) So beautiful! I could only afford the Una and the Lion bar in silver 10 ounce. I will continue to buy gold as I am able to. In three years I have managed to buy just over 12 ounces of gold on a senior's pension very tight budget. My Silver is over 320 ounces now... Saying hello from Vancouver Island.
thank you very much indeed, thats a nice sounding stack you have going there too, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful stack of gold. I keep stacking the Gold Mexico 50 peso. My favorite.
I know, they are my favourite too!
Currently working on the kilo of gold and hope to achieve it this year or in the next. With that the core of my precious metals pension purchasing power insurance plan (my PMPPPIP) will be complete.
Though there is one little, tiny problem with the one kilo of gold per person......there's only about 1 ounce of gold per person on earth available. Fun fact is that the central banks of all the major currency areas are either holding or striving towards about 1 ounce of gold per capita.
Yes, indeed it is not possible for everyone to own a kilo of gold.
A kilo was my target and slowed right down afterwards. Now sitting on 36.5 oz. I’d like to get to 50oz but I’ve shifted my focus to elsewhere in the last 12 months.
The great thing about gold is it goes up in inflationary times but also like Japan over past several years it also goes up in deflationary periods.
It is just great all around!
2 oz are a lot for me and never that I would have that, but DAMN man. That is a gorgeous stack that I hope to be able to have one day. I’m averaging 1 to every 100 oz’s of silver.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it's a very nice ratio you have there.
The Isle Of Man1 Oz Gold Norse Horseman is absolutely stunning.
Obverse features the Norse warrior on horseback, apparently imitating the appearance of St. George from the British Sovereigns but I believe it's different and slightly more appealing, always reminds me of our nordic roots.
Reverse displays Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in my opinion her best looking design.
Thank you for another wonderful video BB 🔥🔥🔥🏅🏅🏅
It's bigger than 1 oz, it's a quintuple sovereign so about 1.17ozt and it is indeed stunning
A kilo is HUGE amount!
I've been stacking since 2012 when a friend dragged me into it and he wanted me to stack silver. I didn't listen og got (mostly) gold instead and only recently crossed the ½ kilo line.
Can be there's 50-80 gram unaccounted for in jewelry, some of it quality jewelry I'll keep and some of it junk which I sell and buy investment gold instead. I have silver too but not that much since I can't get myself to pay those premiums. So very little dedicated bullion but lots of medals acquired at scrap price or below.
So far I'm happy with my choice. Gold more or less kept its value without too much drop. Silver would have been a huge drop until recently. Only future will tell if gold is still the right choice. At least it's the choice of my heart. Love gold!
Thanks for sharing your journey, its certainly a slow and steady game for the win every time.
@@BackyardBullion Only happy to follow your videoes :) Yeah I didn't buy it all back then by I started out quite heavily. Then a silent period because I moved from my apartment and that required a lot of money too.. But my stack has been growing continously just faster at some times than others.
By the way there's not a kilo for every human on Earth(!) even with accounting for central banks and everything. If I remember correctly it's more like 25 gram so even just a one oz coin is more than your earthly even share of gold!
Thanks my friend, I appreciate the support!
My aim for the time being is to get a full sovereign a month. Do you think it's better to buy them preowned or new?
14:39 and then the music took over lol, lovely collection of gold pieces
I forgot to remove it from the edit 😉
Kilo of gold for me is like eating an elephant - small bites over time! Unaffordium and Unobtanium are good motivators for me to stay the course! Thanks! BTW, I can't log on to Silver Forum to open your message. If it pertains to buying this year's bar, I have to pass.
Hey buddy, no worries on the bar, stay the course with purchases!
I do love gold. I have about a half oz. I have been working on my ancient coin collection as much as possible. Mostly roman and Greek.
Beautiful collection! I love those centenarios! Thanks for your thoughts!
Thanks, they are awesome, my favourite coin of all
I like the prospect and I will more than likely own a kilo soon ish, starting now at age 24 buying 1oz-10oz a year. However I feel current market situations demand more progressive buying of silver than gold
Great to hear, thanks for sharing!
I’m currently moving house but looking at starting to slowly accumulate gold and more silver (when I see the in laws in Canada for obvious reasons).
I am lucky enough to have been inside the federal reserve vaults in New York City... one word amazing
You are quite right. Silver premiums are too high right now. I will still buy some in the near future but a lot less than I have over the last few months. I am slowly accumulating fractional gold (that's all I can afford at present). The premiums are high there too but it's still a better deal than silver at the moment. I want to accumulate a few ounces before it does become "unobtanium".
Good to hear, thanks for sharing
looking forward to getting started.
Love your vids...great selection of coins there too. I'm considering stacking some bullion but at age 60 I'm not sure if it's worth it. Have I left it too late?
I started Stacking since 2019 and I could stack 1kg gold and few hundred oz of silver. I needed to slow down as stacking was addictive.
Love the pesos! Thank you for your input(put a tad of platinum in that stack) stay safe and stack on!!!
I do have some platinum in my stack too.
@@BackyardBullion hope you know I was teasing...you are one hundred percent brilliant! Love your videos, thoughts and very AWESOME items you make! From the state of Kansas you ROCK!
Didn't think anything else otherwise!?
I have owned gold for many years, while I was in the Navy I would buy 1 Troy ounce a month and just put it away, I am now retired after 23 years in the U.S. Navy and have just started stacking silver, I am now fascinated with Silver however I will not sell my gold to buy silver. My Gold to Silver Ratio is much heavier in gold but with gold prices as high as they are now I believe that I can only Invest in Silver as silver is much cheaper and the great thing is that I can play with my stack ( I would never touch my gold with my hands) Silver is much more fun :) Gold I can only look at but there are times I want to toss coins around. I agree “Gold is the Currency of Kings and Nations, Silver is the Currency of Gentleman, Barter is the currency of peasants and debt is the currency of slaves “ -Said by someone smart
Who said that?
Excellent presentation and informative bro! That's a dense stack!
Thanks buddy!

Beautiful collection of gold! Congrats!
Thank you very much!
Great inspiration 💪 i have only started and just have a 1/4 oz coin but man I love it.
Thanks my friend, got to start somewhere. 1 oz per year = kilo in 30 years. let's go!!
It slowly stacks up....I'm at 4.321oz (four 1oz and one 10 gram)
took me since 2017 to get there too
@@brettrobinson9713 yea im 21 but my only regret was not taking gold more seriously when my expenses were lower, but my very first gold purchase is a 6 mm diamond cut rope chain 60 grams, and it has come in handy if I ever need a quick loan 💪. I definitely want a second job to support this new hobby 🤣
Steven Garcia that is great! I am glad to see that you didn’t buy lower than 1/4 ounce, 1/10 and small grams the premiums are horrible. I always buy either 1/4, 1/2, or 1ounce. Generally 1 ounce usually has the least amount of premiums. Have fun!
Yes bro,
Agree 👍 100% I am gold stacker from East world 🌎. Gold 24k bars is my passionate and discipline specially for long term.
I started stacking in 2020 when covid 19 started. Almost 2 years stacking I have 15 TOLAS Worth $10,950. So Agree in 10 years I am planning to touch 1 kilo 24k gold bar.
1 kilo in this part of world 🌎 its 86 Tolas. In this part of world 1 kilo 24k gold bar will cost us almost 9.6 million local currency.
I did some calculations and there happens to be of all the gold ever mined roughly 3/4 an ounce per person alive.
Been stacking about 3 months slowly but surely stacking within my budget. Bought 3 oz of gold so far and about 180 oz of silver, mostly 90%, ASE, Maples, Britannia. There goes my Bitcoin
I enjoyed this. I agree, it’s a good goal overtime. New to stacking so I’m at 1/2 an oz lol
Hi, I bought a couple of the boxes for the 1oz gold beasts with the name plates for each coin look much better in the boxes than scattered everywhere
Great to know, thanks!
If you bought the same QB box as me, it holds a tray of 2oz silver, a tray of 1oz gold and a tray of 1/4oz gold.
just bought my first gold Buffalo today!!...up to 4.32 oz. Slow and steady wins the race. Silver premiums are just too ridiculous right now.
Nice, thanks for sharing - I agree about silver premiums!
At last! Somebody recommending buying "as much gold as you can" besides this 2% and 5% rubbish. I have always felt the correct amount is as much as possible....without borrowing or endangering other investments or your livelehood and security of course!
Glad you agree and thanks for stopping by and commenting!
This comment screams ‘confirmation bias’.
You should absolutely not hold more than 10% of your portfolio in gold if you want to see any type of meaningful growth.
Don't have a kilo of gold but I have that in silver, a number of times over. Eventually I'll get there with gold. Slow and steady over time.
For sure, it has to be slow and steady with gold
Love watching these videos, only stacking a couple years, mainly Sovereign coins at minute though but sure it's all the same when the inevitable comes
Glad to hear you like the videos, thanks!
@@BackyardBullion you're welcome, I've about 7oz now so quarter way there lol
Thanks for sharing the thoughts on owning gold. Do you think that accumulating gold for retirement is a good long term goal?
Just started collecting gold and silver about 3 months ago. I'm up to 70 ounces and 6 grams of gold. Little by little!!! I have always been a coin collector for about 4 yrs. Nice video!!!!
Good stuff, keep going!
Loving the gold.. few Oz's behind but striving for that kilo!!!!
Nice, its a very satisfying moment when you get there!
Yep would love to have more gold BUT I don't have the cash for it like most!
Today I completed my first kilo of gold .. a journey started almost 15 months ago 🥇
that's an amazing achievement. well done!
So, what is the sales argument for customers buying the high premium silver that you sell in your business ? ....surely you must believe in it ?
My products are not marketed as investment products nor are they mass produced. When you buy a piece of poured silver you are paying for the art, the uniqueness and the enjoyment of the piece.
Only have a little over half a kilo in 11 years of stacking but if the gold silver ratio narrows a little more I'm going to trade it for gold. Silver takes up to much space in my safe.
Thanks for sharing, yes silver is very very bulky and not good for storage en masse
I've managed to claw since 2015 57 ounces....its a grind but well worth it 👌
Nice treasure! I fully agree that gold is preferable to silver. Reason number one is that it can be obtained for far less premium as a percentage of spot. I have lots of silver too, but I will be selling much of that to buy more gold.
I'm at about 3oz GOLD,,,,
Nice, only 29 more oz to go until a kilo!
I've 8oz at the moment and add about 1oz per year the rest of my hard earned go into a stock's and shares ISA mainly index fund's and a SIPP.
100% agree with gold better then silver. I don’t think silver is better then stocks. I guess it depends on the stock but I love getting dividends, these dividends fund my metals. I also lucked out and got a huge win on the stock market that helped fund my property. Don’t get me wrong, I love silver, but it does not pay me. Gold is king. Even if it doesn’t pay me I think it’s worth is. Great video
Only 1 sov? Are you even British? 🧐
Well done on the 1kg!
I wanted to buy silver because I see the utility value, but I think gold is better right now, so I'm stacking that. People talk about the gold silver ratio, but if you look at the ratio on paper vs a physical gold eagle compared to a silver eagle that ratio is much different.
Excellent video, very nice gold. Yankee Stacking is a great channel. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🤩👃🏻
He sure is
Only Q is, if we buy 1oz a year over 30 years won't it get more expensive to by said oz each year? Could be 6-7 grand an oz in 25 years time? So best to get as much as possible ASAP?
Nice! A y idea where to get those black capsule inserts from?
They came as part of a display box, so no idea, sorry!
Accumulate over time and it will surprise people how much their portfolio will build. It is a long term investment but only spend what you can afford.
Yes indeed, thanks for sharing!

Ha, well its not about buying it all right now, but over time it is very easy to save money and put it into precious metals, gold specifically.
@@BackyardBullion 'very easy' - have you heard of the phrase "paycheck to paycheck " and do you know how many people live in poverty in your own country? Mate I love most of your videos but this video really parades your ignorance as to the reality of how the majority of people live.

Wow BYB that is an incredible sight, Congratulations if you just hit 1Kg. I know you are not into full stack videos so maybe you already have 2-3 🤣
Just goes to show what hard work, smart choices and discipline can achieve.
I’m expecting to cross the 1Kg goal by year’s end if all goes to plan. Looking at each coin I’ve saved up for and purchased along the way I find much more rewarding than just buying a 1Kg bar.

Great perspective, new sub Sir. 🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙
It’ll take me a year to save enough for 1 ounce on my wage 😔, I got close to 30 Oz of silver as that is easier for me to buy right now. You are right though, the premiums are so high even I’m now hesitant to buy more silver.
Yeah, it is very hard to justify the premiums in my head, hence the move to gold.
@@BackyardBullion I am quite new to stacking but I’ve watched a load of your videos and some from the crazy yanks across the pond, saving for the apocalypse. Your vids are definitely more interesting and informative. Theirs just make me think the world will end next Thursday..as you always say, it’s about buying responsibly. I have a tight couple of months coming up so I won’t be buying any PMs as I have higher priorities, but after that I’ll see what I can get. Fingers crossed that the market will have calmed down and prices drop a bit. I want me a 10oz bar..
There is a lot of fear pushing and hype all to fuel affiliate bonus codes and youtube ad revenue. Some of these youtubers in the US are earning thousands of $ every month from the fear they are pushing. We speak a much more down to earth approach.

I don’t keep my coins in the capsules. Just a thin pouch it came in. That’s ok right? I also see from your stack you’re more of a fan of coins than bars…any particular reason?
On rewatching there is a comment I'd like to make. In the UK a gold grab happened as recently as the 1960s when the Labour government were sick of the UK Pound going abroad and being exchanged for gold and brought into the country. Quite simply people were fighting against a weakening Pound through physical gold accumulation so the Government reduced ownership to a limit of four coins, two gold and two silver.
Think it can't happen again? I don't.
Understand value and valuation.
In 1914, Henry Ford started paying his line workers $5 a day.
That was .24187 of gold for a day's wages.
Yeah, I get that but if you equate that to todays gold price that is $413 per day and not out of the realms of possibility for some people right now.
Where to buy gold coins from the European market? Is it the Europeans website?
I still like the white shiny things but the yellow shiny things are great

I bought another 50 sovereigns today thats 250 now and 2500 oz of silver Britannias im hooked
Any advice for where the best place to sell 1kg gold bar would be? (I should have bought 33 gold sovereigns instead)
I would suggest contacting a number of the bigger dealers in the UK (if that is where you are based) Chards, Atkinsons, Baird and Co.

My mom and dad have a lot of 14k rings, bracelets, chains and even 1.5 kg silver chest ( mini coffin ). But my sister sold almost all her gold for a new fridge in her home.
Onlly 11 oZ of gold. Been stacking only this year
Thats a kilo by the end of the year then!
Those Britannias are beautiful!
They are some of the best made bullion coins out there.
Where do you buy your coins from?
