This was my first Gan so I was a little frightened to do anything to the tensioning and such but I totally understand now, thank you! I also apparently overlooked the fact that I could change the corner magnets so that was good to know.
The 3 position switches on the corner pieces adjust how far out, or close, the triangle or hexagon internal magnets sit in relation to the core magnets. So essentially you have 6 settings for your turning magnet strength, how hard and sharp it snaps into position when completing a turn.
I tried the full range of limit and tension settings from the tightest to the loosest. It's still super stable at the loosest setting and not very squishy at all, though there will be an occasional floppy snap, which I decided I didn't need. The other end of the spectrum is also excellent. Despite the graph in the documentation, corner cutting doesn't get significantly reduced until a limit setting of one (at least for my tastes). Again it's super stable at the loosest setting, but it made perfect sense to go with the tightest limit setting that was comfortable on the corner cutting; and for me that was 2, though 3 is great too. From there, I adjusted tension to taste (second click/step three [however you prefer to count]). What a great cube.
Just what I wanted, the smallest commercially available flathead screwdriver! Thanks for the guide, SCS. I won this cube as my first GAN Cube besides the 354 v1 with no nuts (I wont the 11m Pro from a Cubicle giveaway XD)! But this is amazing, thank you and best wishes!)

The magnet adjustment doesn't change the corner magnets under the plastic it only moves the corner stock magnets closer and Farther from the core magnets.
When you're removing the numerical distancing nut, is it possible for the tension to get messed up? I turned mine from the default to 4 and it keeps popping. Please help
Really INFORMATIVE VIDEO; it was very helpful. I look forward to adjusting my coming GAN 11M PRO using the acquired knowledge from this video. Ans, I have on question. Is the DARK BLUE nut for a tighter tension or looser?

Hey Speed Cube Shop, I have been trying to find a good setup for the Gan 356 air m, and I was wondering what SCS Lube you would recommend for that particular cube, if you have a suggestion please let know , that would definitely help me a lot 👍🏻👍🏻
I don't understand how the center blue nut is supposed to adjust corner cutting as the only thing it seems to do is adjust the anchor point of the clear spring loaded nut. So it's just added or removing preload from the clear nut. In other words- adjusting which blue center nut you use, which setting its on, or which setting the clear spring loaded nut is on, are all doing the same thing- adjusting the tightness of the center piece.
@@jacksoncuber8626 ok. The black internals might look better but the primary internals are better for speed solving. 0:14 "168 customization possibilities". Apologies, but I'm cursed with a computer science degree--and therefor obsessed with the correct counting of things. Correct me if I get any of this wrong, because I'm not perfect and get hung up on things that aren't relevant. But assuming that you want a symmetrical setup, there are 3 corner magnet settings, 3 core-magnet settings (including removing the magnets that interacts with the core), 4 center-travel (center-spring) limit settings (combined across the two different nuts), and 7 spring tension settings. Funny that the product documentation says there's only 6 spring tension settings. I had to pop a cover to count it correctly myself. What you do is go around until it pops. That's one, not zero. It's a classic off-by-one error. We computer science people are so silly. Anyway, allowing for 3 core magnet settings: 3 * 3 * 4 * 7 = 252.
I have a question. I have it on distancing setting 4 (most distance allowed, I assume), and it still cannot corner cut 45 degrees. Is there a way I can verify why this happens?
