When you posed the question about short or long form, my husband asked if we could have both. We greatly enjoy your videos. It is easier for me to watch shorter videos as i work full-time and homeschool my kids. But whatever you produce, I'll make time for. Quebec Run is beautiful! Thanks for taking us here.
@@carolpritt2751 thanks for the great comment Carol! This will most likely be a bit of a rarity for the channel in terms of the length. Thanks for the support and great hearing from you!
This place has been on my radar for several years. Now that I’m semi retired maybe it will really happen. I enjoy your content no matter what the format. Just keep doing it !!
No quitting here, I can promise you that. Quebec Run really exceeded expectations for me Dave, everything from the ferns to the nice spaced out maple forests, the creek, wildlife, everything about it was just amazing and even better I got to experience with two great dudes. Thanks!
Bill. I love what you do. Don't change it. Many shorter videos are better than a big one (in my opinion). Sitting here in December watching this makes me ache for the warm months.😁 Love seeing all of those Ferns!
Thank you Dennis, I wouldn't be able to do these things without the support you all give me so thank you for that. I won't change a thing, people seem to enjoy it and it seems like it's paying off. I agree with the shorter videos although I will warn you there will be a few longer ones from the western road trip. Me too already missing the summer!
Great point Susan, I usually only put out videos under 25 mins so this was a bit different for me but it just seemed natural to do a 2 day trip into one video, thanks for the support as always!
Definitely a hidden gem. I enjoyed reliving the adventure. Great video. Great memories of Billigans Island and fun times with Bill and Jason. Hope we can do another adventure again soon.👍🙂🙏
Wherever and whenever Dave! If you email me tomorrow wanting to climb Everest I'll be there! I could've easily made this into two videos but I didn't, ended up cutting a lot of things out like the tent/hammock interviews and the pee bread hahaha
Nice to see you and Dave and Jaison all hanging out. This really looks like a remote area and a beautiful place. I prefer shorter videos as I often come on UA-cam for short chunks of time. Looking forward to seeing your adventures outside of Pennsylvania too.
We had a great crew and laughed more than anything that night lol, it was a pretty unique area with all of those open forest floors and ferns, and yeah I understand the shorter video thing I agree with you, figured id try something new for once lol. Thanks for the comment as always!
Awesome video, beautifully filmed. I really enjoy the historical background. Now that everything around here has turned brown it is so refreshing to see so much green. As for me I like videos about this length. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you so much as always, I love doing the intros and giving a little bit more backstory to the hike (or just adding some things I forgot to mention while filming) and that's even better to hear that youre enjoying the videos from a few months ago, it'll be that way for a while. I have the wedding road trip coming up here soon so I hope you enjoy that. Also thanks for your thoughts about the video length, I believe this is one of the longest if not the longest ive posted here...we'll see how it does! Thanks!
Just stumbled on your content. Very nice. Gr8 job. Yes, I will share that I like the shorter format vids. Probly keeps you from "getting burned out" as well. Keep it fun!
Awesome, that's great to hear. Seems like a lot of folks found my channel from the Kinzua video here lately. Thanks for taking your time to leave a comment as well, and yeah I agree about shorter style videos this was a bit of a rarity for me. And yeah no one is getting burnt out over here!
Congratulations on finding a mate that enjoys hiking and spending time with you. I'm looking forward to following along. 😉 I'm sure that we'll all enjoy your travels. What better way to see the world even if you can't go yourself. Thanks for sharing!
@@MaksimOutdoors have you ever watched Woodsbound Outdoors? Watching his video now. It might be something you might be interested in. Hot Tent Camping in an Appalachian Snow Storm. He had a bunch of Short videos pop up, that's how I found him. Enjoy your evening!
Excellent video. Loved the lush scenery and listening to the owl music must have been a real treat. Great idea making the bannock bread Think of all the endless possibilities just using your imaginations. Good stuff oh and I enjoy 30 minute videos but happy with whatever you produce. Thanks for asking. Congratulations to Sam and you on your new beginning
Great vid!! I watch a few Canadian outdoor channels, they often offer both formats, short & long vids depending on length/duration of trip. Guess it depends on how much info you want to share.
Thank you for the kind comment, I very rarely put out anything over 30 mins so this was a bit of a rarity for me...just wanted to test the water so thank you for the thoughts.
I just started following you recently and I really enjoy your videos. I prefer 10 to 20 minute video's with good content. Thanks for sharing the trails in Pennsylvania! I've followed the Appalachian trail hikers for the past 2 years now and have really enjoyed following everyone. That's how you popped up on my phone and the other Pennsylvania trail hiker. I can't think of his name right off. I'm from Pennsylvania and I think that we live in a beautiful area. Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to have you along for the journey! Even cooler you took time to leave such a great comment. I usually put out videos no longer than 25 mins so this was a bit of an experiment for me, we'll see how it turns out! And of course, ive been hiking these trails for as long as I could walk hah and always thought it would be incredible to share with others and here we are! I also follow a lot of the AT hikers, maybe one day I'll get to check that off as well lol. Ill see you on the next one hopefully!
Great vid Bill...as always! I am with you 100% on your comments regarding 20+ mile days and the AT, etc. Personally I like to "smell the roses" as I go along. Looking forward to your "travel vids". Thanks for sharing...👊🏻😀
My man Griz! Thanks as always for stopping by and dropping a comment always good hearing from you. And yes, Ive been pondering on doing the 70 mile laurel highlands hiking trail next year, normal folks will do it in 3-4 days but the style of video I shoot with all of the walkbys and cinematic shots it would probably take me 5-6 days lol, starting to reconsider how I shoot longer mileage videos because I don't want to miss out on doing them, I have a few of the travel videos done and I think you are really going to enjoy them!
Without a doubt, the best backpacking destination within an hours drive of Pittsburgh! Better than the LHHT (which I also love) in that you can camp anywhere. I've done at least two overnights there for the past four years. In fact, I am planning on another trip next week!
I find the shorter ones would get more views. I try to keep mine within 20 minutes. Quebec Run is beautiful I also did a backpack trip similar to yours it was my first trip out and was great.
Thank you for the comment, I agree when it comes to video length 15-20 mins is ideal, this was a bit of an experiment of sorts. Ive been planning a return trip there recently so hopefully I can get back there and do more filming there in the New Year!

Lived in Western PA all my life and never heard of this place. Do you think there are brook trout in any of those streams? I like the shorter videos.
Absolutely, I seen a few and they were really nice sized ones. The water was a bit low but there were a few deep holes holding nice sized trout.
@MaksimOutdoors thanks. I'm going to do a little research for a trip down there in the spring I think.
I think I already viewed this episode awhile back?
@@alanmiller1911 This is brand new, perhaps you viewed Day Hike Dave’s version?

Thanks for the input Judy, ill keep that in mind!

Yeah I am not too far away from there either and I just learned about it recently, its a great little spot.
