Sad that Criterion weren't able to fully make their version of this game, even to this day I wonder what could have been with this game had it gone that route instead of Burnout Fairhaven, you did a great job covering this game 👍

About NFSMW 2012 in my opinion I’ve always liked the game I’ve always thought of it as the last good racing game and after watching this video although my opinion still stands, your points are absolutely fantastic and I can definitely agree with a lot of them this game is pain that is no lie it just is, however a lot of other games such as MCLA and HL2 they are painful to play at a lot of points, but they are still fantastic games with there own riveting elements and I think this game is one of those games, it was just ruined by corporate greed and disparity it’s truly sad.
It blows my mind how much the execs at EA just do not listen to the fanbase even back then. In response to the modern NFS games, trying to create a game for everyone creates a game for no one.

I played MW 2012 on my friends PC and I had a blast with it. The graphics, the sound, the music, the effects. I didn't even know that the game was bad, nor did I thought about it. I just enjoyed racing at high speeds while adrenaline kicks in because the risk of crashing increases exponentially as speed grows. Still to this day I launch it from time to time when I get bored of modern racing games.
The rhino in this game has to be the scariest version of the rhino from any nfs game, seeing the yellow headlights from the literal tank coming head on towards you on a narrow road is terrifying because if the rhino manages to hit you, you are basically done for.
What are u you talkin about at least that one good thing they have music seletctíon mw12 has one of the best soundtracks along side with nfs rivals hurricane n butterflies song is my favorite u have no taste
@@bajanroyalty5935 no taste? What about Skinnyman by Static X, that one's a kicker, black betty by spiderbait, Two lane blacktop by rob zombie, nine thou by styles of beyond, riders on the storm by the doors feat. snoop dogg, i am night, color me black by priestess? There's more better songs i prefer to hear than i love it by icona pop, not to forget the fact that nfs mw 2012 at its time was trying to pick up on more modern songs.
@Bajan Royalty👑 I heard the soundtrack since the mobile version, and trust me, when I say this, regardless of whether it is on mobile, console, or pc, the soundtrack from mw 12 does not appeal to me.
What kept me away from purchasing this game was simply that it felt they were just using the Most Wanted name to sell a game that was not related to its namesake. As a horror fan I see it all the time where a horror “remake” comes out and feels so half baked that it feels they knew they were going to make a turd but just changed the script just enough to plaster the name of a much better regarded movie in order to sucker people into watching their flick. When I heard of the 2012 game I was cautious, even back then EA had a dubious reputation. The more I found out about the game just reinforced that feeling this wasn’t the game I wanted.
Fun fact: NFS MW2012 should have features like in NFS Hot Pursuit EMP, spike strips and oil carpet as a modification but the idea was scrapped during the beta actually some footage of the features for EMP still existing
I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with most wanted 2012. My brother bought it for me back when it first came out cause he knew how much I loved the original, and we both thought it was gonna be a remake or remaster, or even a sequel, but it wasn’t any of those things, and so we were both left disappointed and sad. I’m saying all that, as much as I thought it was a slap in the face for someone who grew up with blackbox’s nfs games, 2012 most wanted was still a good and fun game for me to play, I remember playing the hell out of it, and recently I’ve decided to load it back up on my 360, along with rivals and hot pursuit, and finish 100%ing it. As much as I don’t like that they aren’t where I’d hope the need for speed franchise was/would be, I’d be lying if I said they weren’t still good games, they still had banger sound tracks, cars still sounded nice and aggressive, and the graphics, keep in mind we’re talking previous gen consoles, but even today, those 3 games have incredible visuals and graphics. I’m definitely not complaining they exist, because I still love those games to this day, but I also don’t like them at the same time, it’s a weird, complicated relationship I have with them, but I remember looking back at them as being the “worst need for speed games” back then, and now I look at the current stage of need for speed, like with unbound, and suddenly, criterion’s nfs games aren’t that bad, I mean, personally, I enjoy playing those 3 games a lot more than I do/did when playing unbound and some of the newer need for speed games. It’s weird, I might have to make my own video about it one day to properly explain it Ahaha. But credit to you this was an amazing video and you’ve earned my sub, looking forward to seeing what you do in the future 😁
3:50 there was a plan to bring back a Cross too, not just Mia. Dean McKenzie did some voice recordings for the game, which wasn't used in the MW 2012 at any point. Although, one line from the recordings was used in NFS Payback. Dean McKenzie have told this himself in an interview - in LPRipper's channel if i'm not completely wrong. Dean didn't even know that one of he's voiceline was used in payback and later he revealed that he did voice recordings which was supposed to be in the early 2010's NFS game, which in this case, was MW 2012. It was sad that they didn't have the time to finish the game with the original plan and that we got just a shit burnout rip off with real life cars.
it's a game with personality is what it is, I don't really care about MW05 when all it is is a coalition of tryhard attempts at being trendy (at the time) Carbon and Prostreet were the better blackbox games, let's just face it, at least they didn't have an insufferable story
From the minute 3:30 to 10:00 almost everything you say about MW2 is wrong or relatively wrong. First about the story, the game only has 3 missions related to the story (The Chase, Safehouse Compromised and the later update of the same event called like downtown start) and that's it. There's no story outside of those missions and the devs they are struggling to create more of them (2011 november to 2012 march and no advance). Second, the game has more builds than 21 and they are total of 54 builds (50 if is only ps3). From 16.09.2011(oldest info i have of the moment) to final release (NFS Heroes DLC) and the MW2 era is not even close to being a finished product. Suffers of multiple changes like the map (cut areas like mining territory), cars (Semi's truck, Hummer HX 2009, Toyota Hilux Armored Car, BMW M3 GTS 2010, Camaro SS, Police Helicopter and more), weapons (Dust Storm, ArcLight, Reavo R-1 and more), physics, etc. Also in 7:00 that is the thermal vision (you call some CCTV or something) his purpose are to see through the smoke (and probably more than that) and even game modes (TDM,FREE FOR ALL,CTP examples from the MP). Three, about in 5:40 minute NOT all the menus can be selectable (can crash or softlock the game) and not all the freedrives are fuctional (some can do the same as mentioned before). Four, 5:55 uses the HP10 car select as a placeholder (same for the photo mode) and later builds (like march or may) they removed the HP10 to one more static selectable car system (even though it is semi-functional). Five, 7:50 is called Debug Menu and his purpose is only for developers to test out stuff quick and changes what can be selectable in real time. Six, in the minute 8:30 you mention that the Taxi Cab that's a Dodge Gran Caravan is cut from the game but actually is in the final release, just have low chances to spawn in midtown areas (like McClane).
Would've been better if the game was called Need for Speed: Fairhaven, and just them marketing it's most wanted list under a different name. Imagine all 10 most wanted racers being related and instead of most wanted cars, they're called "Fairhaven Family". This could've been received so much better.
A fun mechanic in MW 2012 is that you can swap performance parts during races. Popped tires? Use reinflates then switch back to track, hit top speed on highway? Swap short gears with long gears until the end of the highway. This strategy is a lot of fun and really gives you an advantage
This game was such a disappointment, i was so hyped up as i thought it would be the actual sequel to 2005's Most Wanted but it turned out to be nothing like that rather frustrating in a lot of ways!
The game overall isn't bad. Just mostly, the name gives it a bad reputation as it shares the same name as Black Box's game and even more with the cut content. EA gets most of the blame since making Burnout Fairhaven was easier to put together in the span from when the MW2 idea was canned to its release date than starting from 0 or Criterion asking EA for an extension, especially back then. Still better than Payback and prefer the cut Most Wanted 2 story than what Unbound had.
I grew up playing Carbon and it's still one of my most played games ever. When Hot Pursuit came out, I hated it and have probably played it no more than 10 different times in the 13 years I've had it (I still can't stand to play it). I got The Run too on release and liked it a fair amount, especially the concept of driving in different environments across the country. However, I really didn't like how rigid the gameplay was and the fact that there was no free roam, so I've only revisited it 2 or 3 times since then. When 2012 came out I actually loved it and played it daily, nonstop for 3-4 years. It felt weird (still does) with no characters or story, but the gameplay was super fun and I spent most of my time in pursuits, even if I threw my controller a lot because of the OP cops. Though imo the 2012 cops aren't anywhere near as hellishly OP as they are in newer games like Heat. But I hated and still CANNOT STAND the crash animation, especially since it can randomly crash you when you hit something at super slow speed or when you don't even hit anything, like if you hit a curb at a certain angle (kind of like at 13:40). I was also very disappointed about the absence of pursuit breakers. Even with its flaws I still love the game and I come back to it at least once a year. I definitely think it's the best post-Carbon NFS game, but does it deserve to be called Most Wanted? Hell no. lol
Hey man, as someone who has almost all the leaks of most wanted 2012, there are almost 30 builds of most wanted, though i only set up 2 of them, they work (a pain to set up), also the Hot Pursuit like menu in that build is as a placeholder, one of the builds have a garage but its just a menu with a logo. Anyway if you want the leaks, hit me up
Now I see what they did there. I think they wanted to stylize the logo like this Need for Speed: Most Wanted 201². Meaning they not only wanted to release this game in 2012, but they also wanted the game to be a sequel to the 2005 game and wanted the game to be part 2 to the 2nd power.
I had NFS MW 2012 on the WII U, which was basically the normal game with a cheat sheet. You can change your color on the fly, change the car on the fly (jackspots not required, only for unlocking said car), you could use it as a larger minimap, and you had the bonus of free nitro at the start for every car. It was pretty weak nitro, but it was still there and gave your car an added boost. I had fun, but I was pretty young still. So young that my favorite car was the Dune Buggy. The dune buggy in question, being the Caterham R500 Superlight, which isn't a dune buggy whatsoever, but I thought it was one as I'd never heard of it before, and it looks like one. Still my favorite car in alot of games, like FH5 nowadays, which I still have it working like a dune buggy because of MW2012.
Black box was very passionate about their games and very very original aswell. if they were still in development they'd have made one unique title after the next.
look, i know people don’t like the game because of the name, and that makes sense. it is indeed a terrible sequel, or spiritual successor, or whatever you want to call it - to most wanted 05. the titles have nothing in common apart from the name that being said, this game was stupid fun. i don’t know how many hours i put into online speedlists with friends, the constant chaos just never got old. if they had branded this game with a burnout name, as it sort of plays like the last one, paradise, i imagine it would have been a lot better received in the eyes of the community.
it’s supposed to be a catchphrase for “the most wanted need for speed” not some old title. It was need for speed at its peak and was ahead of his time in my opinion … and I do think criterion games was trying to compare their NFS to the 05 NFS on some low-key shit
I think you all read it from the same book saying the story is not required but one of the reasons NFS MW 2005 was such a massive success was because of the story. I think the only reason why people still play this game is because of its availability on game stores. Not implying this is a bad game but its just not worth it however do have to say, the cops are better than the scripted ones of NFS Payback.
6:05 -- its easier to modify an existing pre release build then creating a whole new game, because they actually reused hot pursuit at first, to build mw2. so at some point, you could select either maps to run, alaska (hp10) or hawaii (mw2)
I think the problem was the EA was being a bum and wanted to rush them to make a new game so criererion devs just couldn’t use their ideas in the given time. I think let’s say they gave them one more year it would’ve been completed
I thought this would have way more views. Good video! Still bummed about a beloved franchise becoming worse...I remember playing the first Most Wanted and Carbon with my grandpa as a little kid :))
Eh, I can't always attract a crowd, but thanks. Sadly, I got to agree with this. It gets worse up to the point that NFS Heat was my last modern NFS game that I'll ever play for the rest of my life.
Honestly, I agree with you but I grew up with that game and also playing FH1. Sometimes I play both of them again and it remember me my childhood. Nice video ;)
I would agree, but i mostly beg to differ, you aren't wrong on what you said, but simply put that this is EA that we're talking about overall. Since the PS3, EA eventually decided to shift development to have pre-existing studios to develop and publish high definition games not just titles for the PS2, Blackbox did peak between Underground 2 to most wanted 2005, Carbon was good, but then they were slowly but surely struggling later between Undercover, World, and The Run in regards to sales which eventually at one point led Blackbox to cease existence, and here's the word sales, when the PS3 was released, each year passes by and despite some to none not knowing this, i included, as time goes by, EA ends up biasing their titles from being creative (which gets EA sales from any title published by them.) to being profitable (the exact opposite.) DLC (once called Expansion Packs) did start on the early 1980's and was becoming viable on the mid 90's, here's where things change, asides making special editions, such as the black edition of NFSmw05 or the collector's edition of NFS Carbon, in 2010 when Hot Pursuit was released, Criterion ended up making a bunch of cars from the Lamborghini Diablo to the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 SS, ofc some didn't see this as a bad thing, but fast forward to 2012 and NFSMW12 exists, which is esentially burnout paradise with licensed cars and less intriguing damage, With this being said, EA didn't give Criterion a lot of time to make another nfs game that was from scratch and what i said a moment ago was the end result, it's DLC, which is the hennessey venom, eventually came out as not only an intriguing car, but also overpowered as hell, any online player who is not driving that type of car would not be able to beat it, unless they go get the dlc and get the car for themselves, such DLC was basically made to force people into buying it for EA's satisfaction of profit, and that is still going on today, only thing is that today's NFS is still being runned on NFS 2015's potato physics and mechanics and lets not forget, an obnoxious amount of content on Unbound which is all made to include onto the sales of such game, from volume catch up packs to car packs, some that are newly made and most that pre-existed since fucking heat, for instance the Volume 4 customs pack, which has Rachel's 350Z and Eddies's Skyline and the yellow Polestar 1, Buick Regal GNX in Vol. 5, 2014 Dodge SRT Viper and 2015 Mustang GT on vol. 3, and a damn Lotus Exige S in Vol. 4, and the '87 Porsche 959 S in the fucking 8th volume of updates, all those cars i have mentioned had FUCKING existed since heat. Criterion ended development on Burnout underneath multiple reasons, one of them is obviously working on NFS games since hot pursuit 2010. some people who worked in Criterion to make Burnout had left the team make another studio which would lead onto a spiritual successor of the burnout games, even if they hire new people. Criterion, whether we like it or not, stopped making their own games since 2016 and eventually helped DICE make games from battlefield to star wars battlefront. Before 2016, some of the staff were cut off and transferred to Gothenburg along with some DICE staff to form ghost games to make NFS games 2015 to Heat, there's a chance some of those individuals were the employees who either made burnout, or NFS Hot pursuit 2010. Blackbox's shutdown, the decline of the Burnout franchise, all this had been made into reality in due time because of EA's greed since PS3.
I love most wanted 2012 even though I haven’t played the first one and know it doesn’t deserve the title but I still have so much fun playing it especially online that basically was my childhood
The title is supposed to be a catchphrase for “the most wanted” need for speed as in #1 not some old title lol …and It was ahead of its time and need for speed at its peak. It deserves that title
Being able to swap parts mid race was broken af. I remember doing the “Around the World” race and whatever car I was in I’d switch to the short transmission gears and then when up to speed I’d switch to long transmission gears and I’d reach some incredible speeds. I got so good at switching between short and long gears and already dominated online
I hated MW 2012 because i got locked out of mp because i played it first on my boys xbox. Thats when games were locked to home consoles so people would buy new games over used games
This game is so dogshit in more ways than I can count. But I gotta admit, the sound design is top tier. Driving through a tunnel in a Gallardo is incredible.
I can agree with some stuff, the first non-official version looked very impressive. However, I can't really understand why people need to hate some things that much. Come on, it's just a game and if you don't like it, it doesn't mean nobody likes it. It's my most played game from all NFS series and I really like the freedom of this game. It have some issues, yea the lack of customization, the dumb AI (at which, especially with cops I have laughted so many times xd). I'm glad they made something like this, althought I'm slowly starting to hate EA how they treat NFS games...
I agree with everything you said, but the customization customization would’ve fucked this game up in my opinion…look at 2015-2022 customization is old junky and outdated, and makes it hard to focus on gameplay. It is very distracting and makes it bored very fast most wanted 2012 has no distraction just mad speed. and strong a gameplay …think about it By it being simple just the way it is made it fun Zero customization 💪 strong gameplay
NFSMW 2012 was actually the game that introduced me to the series. Having now played the classic NFS, as well as the newer ones especially Heat. One thing I can positively say about NFSMW 2012 is the music choice.
Im sorry, but this game wasn't the reason why the series became bad. It was NFS Rivals that completely changed it. This NFS MW was and still is really good.
11:31 It's a forgotten common knoledge that NFS MW 2012 is a Burnout Paradise scrapped into a NFS. You can even see the footage in E3 where the Porsche had a Burnout license plate. Ended up being neither of them, it just sucks. They literally killed both franchises in one game.
Hey mate awesome video!! Really well done. I miss the blackbox era 🥺 05 most wanted was just brilliant 🥺 2012 most wanted wasn’t too bad, but it just didn’t feel like need for speed anymore. Still the same to this day but eh unbound isn’t too bad.. but underground 1, 2 most wanted carbon, pro street, undercover.. Nfs world even.. I think of nfs and I remember these…. excluding the hot pursuits etc everyone has there opinions 🤷♀️
As long as you get the mods to fix the latency the game isn't too bad. Great sound design and an awesome soundtrack just wish they gave you more races per car.
I actually loved this game as a little kid because it's the first console nfs game I ever played, but than I couple years after I played the 2000's games. I liked then but I still loved playing Most wanted 2012. But then a couple of years later and seeing what the other games did. It is safe to say that this game was a failure, because of EA. But MW15 still is a good racing game
In my humble, personal opinion, this game was supposed to be abstract in its theme. That's why all of the blacklist car are white and have no names, that's why the cutscenes are so bizzare and have no voice acting and characters. I personally really enjoyed this concept, however I agree that this shouldn't have been called NFS Most Wanted.
Coming from an old school gamer who played the original most wanted in 2005, I refused stubbornly to play the most wanted of 2012 simply because the game was not anything like the original most wanted, and I was pissed about that! Years later, older me saw most wanted 2012 on steam one day, decided.... wtf?! Lets give it a go. I will admit, I was suprised, it was actually kinda fun! Despite the lack of story, and questionable blacklist. The chases to win the blacklist car after you defeat it are the most ridiculous chases I have ever experienced! Those are not so fun. Otherwise, though, 2012 most wanted wasn't a bad game. It just had a bad name!
I played mw2012 to exhaustion, I’ve played on the ps3, Vita and recently on the pc. I love this game and really don’t know where the hate is coming. I love mw2005 and for me both games are differently animals and I enjoy both. Also I much prefer Mw2012 than Hot pursuit 2010…
It tired to be burnout game with license vehicles. They should just give us a new burnout game. Hot pursuit 2010 was actually good and fun. 2012 was fun but got boring with the same races
Actually how long it takes to make is quite hard as considering that it is still in TEST VERSION so I guess the "not enough time" Would be true because 1:some Dev does take time to create games and if to early it will happen similar to cyberpunk:2077 where it has WAY TO MUCH GLITCH EVEN the Dev removed but THEY GOT HACK BY FANS to make the game better also 2:some games take LONGER depending how long and good it is,take scrap mechanic for example: the Dev (Axolotl (yes that is the name of the company))takes a while like:4 years just to get the chapter 2 on over HALFWAY done but haven't released yet because if have said a date to early then they have to cut corners making the game bad or if to long less hype and some even think it haven't released yet. Edit:even if so that EA forced Criterion to make it as IS still like the map for MW2 HAVE NOT EVEN FINISHED SCALING YET,Let alone the game.
On what I meant is that somepaets of the maps haven't even been created and only a stretch of roads are there also we don't know what the game kinda looks like if it is finished because on NFS Most Wanted The Beta has ALOT of stuff that isn't exist in the current one simply because they were just a test like for example:Cutscene, they have some different stories but others have the similar approach as the current but like different music, cars, objects, etc EVEN SOME police vehicles were originally a civilian vehicles before they were changed to police ones. But also great video tho. Edit:what I meant for:some people may even think is not yet ready,is I meant that if to long some would forget or all will no longer wait and never realised that it is released. Or some less hype.
The fact that Critireon made this (like you said, best name for it) "Burnout Fairhaven" with a lackluster of detail to make you understand the game, was what made me hate it at first. Got to admit the truth. And like it or not, the main reason I continued going to NFS game beside the wide level of customization, was the story. Because you hardly had a good racing game that did not feel repetitive or boring, by it's self. Plus the "Crash Cam" was annoying AF! Even though I got use to the game, it was not the best of the bunch. Great cars, but you took away all the best factors of the previous NFS games. Payback was bad, but MW 2012 to me sucked worse. I can deal with a corny story. The real annoyance was the slot machine gimmick they had to add vs "let me buy my own parts." I just could not deal with a game with no real conception to make you want to play it.
16:54 even worse, that voice line s ripped straight from NFS Hot Pursuit (2010)! (something to note though, code 3 in police talk means: "respond to emergency with lights and sirens.")
the fact that they named it "most wanted" and the inclusion of annoying crash cam were my only two complaints. Using trainer sidesteps the second issue though.
I might try to do another one of these, moreover since i have a bone to pick with NFS 2015.
I actually really used to love most wanted. Used to play it every single day, just fooling around and having fun. I don’t think it deserves the most wanted title, but regardless it is still a great game.

The rhino in this game has to be the scariest version of the rhino from any nfs game, seeing the yellow headlights from the literal tank coming head on towards you on a narrow road is terrifying because if the rhino manages to hit you, you are basically done for.
_"Didn't like the music they have in store"_
**Angry Hurricanes and Butterflies noises**
The butterflies and hurricanes are commiting world war 3.
@@Frozen_arcade it still has a great selection of music
This wasn't a bad game it was fun on its own
@@Uohhhh777 I didn't say it's bad, it's already good, but it lacked story, it was more like burnout paradise
😊
This is the first somewhat positive take anyone has had on this game… NFSMW12 has its issues but personally I enjoyed it
I love it since it was my first nfs game (didn't know about it as I only had a wii) as a freshman in High School with a fresh PS3
it's a game with personality is what it is, I don't really care about MW05 when all it is is a coalition of tryhard attempts at being trendy (at the time)
Carbon and Prostreet were the better blackbox games, let's just face it, at least they didn't have an insufferable story
Mostly my take on the mw2 beta is wrong which is understandable,
Thanks for the heads up on my errors.
holy shit man, that "everyone scream" at 0:46 scared the shit out of me i didn't expect that lol
Would've been better if the game was called Need for Speed: Fairhaven, and just them marketing it's most wanted list under a different name. Imagine all 10 most wanted racers being related and instead of most wanted cars, they're called "Fairhaven Family". This could've been received so much better.
Actual Heat order:
1. Crown Victoria normies
2. Crown Victoria roadblocks
3. Chargers
4. Explorer SUVs
5. Corvettes
6. SWAT trucks
A fun mechanic in MW 2012 is that you can swap performance parts during races. Popped tires? Use reinflates then switch back to track, hit top speed on highway? Swap short gears with long gears until the end of the highway. This strategy is a lot of fun and really gives you an advantage
This is pure gold! You deserve more attention
That's a possibility
This game was such a disappointment, i was so hyped up as i thought it would be the actual sequel to 2005's Most Wanted but it turned out to be nothing like that rather frustrating in a lot of ways!
thanks for the noise warnings with everyone's favorite "EVERYONE" line
The game overall isn't bad. Just mostly, the name gives it a bad reputation as it shares the same name as Black Box's game and even more with the cut content.
EA gets most of the blame since making Burnout Fairhaven was easier to put together in the span from when the MW2 idea was canned to its release date than starting from 0 or Criterion asking EA for an extension, especially back then.
Still better than Payback and prefer the cut Most Wanted 2 story than what Unbound had.
2015-2022 🚮
If I remember correctly the Ford raptor was the only vehicle to be able to go through a rhino road block
NFS the run is severely underrated game is a legend
At 21:02 is wrong. Heat level 4 is ford explorer, heat level 5 is Corvette.
Hell no. lol
The weird thing is that people hated it when it came out and nowadays it's considered "underrated" by many (not me tho)
The taxi cab can actually be found in the city area in the finished game
Hey man, as someone who has almost all the leaks of most wanted 2012, there are almost 30 builds of most wanted, though i only set up 2 of them, they work (a pain to set up), also the Hot Pursuit like menu in that build is as a placeholder, one of the builds have a garage but its just a menu with a logo. Anyway if you want the leaks, hit me up
Even now i still play Need for speed MW 2005 thats how good it is
There are four words needed sum up every one of this game's failures: "Press Brake to Drift."
True on that, though I find it more disappointing on nfs 2015 if anything.
@@Frozen_arcade Yup, that game takes the cake for the worst arcade driving physics I have ever seen.
Loved the use of the Saints Row 2 map screen music in the background 😂
Still my favorite car in alot of games, like FH5 nowadays, which I still have it working like a dune buggy because of MW2012.
maybe hot take but this game carried my childhood ( this was the only nfs game in wii u) but it holds a special place in my heart
Levels
1- Crown Victorias and roadblocks
2- Chargers+roadblock
3- Explorers
4- Corvettas
5- same as lvl 4 so nothing changes
6- Swat
Black box was very passionate about their games and very very original aswell. if they were still in development they'd have made one unique title after the next.
One thing I can say..video is good but the looping saints row 2 pause screen music was insanely distracting 😭
Maybe in another video like this. I'll try lowering the music a bit more down. Hopefully, the music i use won't be too distracting within any topic.
look, i know people don’t like the game because of the name, and that makes sense. it is indeed a terrible sequel,
or spiritual successor, or whatever you want to call it - to most wanted 05. the titles have nothing in common apart from the name
that being said, this game was stupid fun. i don’t know how many hours i put into online speedlists with friends, the constant chaos just never got old.
if they had branded this game with a burnout name, as it sort of plays like the last one, paradise, i imagine it would have been a lot better received in the eyes of the community.
it’s supposed to be a catchphrase for “the most wanted need for speed” not some old title. It was need for speed at its peak and was ahead of his time in my opinion … and I do think criterion games was trying to compare their NFS to the 05 NFS on some low-key shit
This need for speed game is absolutely fun if they named it burn out the brand name need for speed would have been ruined😂😂
8:36 they are in the final game but you only see the taxi xabs in the downtown part of fairhaven
bro i thought this dude has 100k subscribers at least , you are truly underrated
I am A-ok with being underrated.
If you have a laptop without the num pad, you need an additional USB keyboard to plug in so that you can open the EasyDrive to set the destination.
It's fine. In the first few minutes, I somehow figured out an alternative with the controller.
You can rebind the EasyDrive buttons to WASD if you drive with arrows, or vice versa.
6:05 -- its easier to modify an existing pre release build then creating a whole new game, because they actually reused hot pursuit at first, to build mw2.
so at some point, you could select either maps to run, alaska (hp10) or hawaii (mw2)
Learning that we almost got a true sequel to Most Wanted 2005 just to have it be a shitty facade due to EA's incompetence broke my heart.
I think the problem was the EA was being a bum and wanted to rush them to make a new game so criererion devs just couldn’t use their ideas in the given time. I think let’s say they gave them one more year it would’ve been completed
I actually really used to love most wanted. Used to play it every single day, just fooling around and having fun. I liked it so much.
That SR2 pause music :D
Most Wanted is not that good like people claim, I beat the game once and never touch it again
It's not the Blacklist it's the Whitelist in 2012.
That is very clever, and I do like it
The whitelist was simple and clean and ahead of its time
I thought this would have way more views.
Blackbox was supposed to stay making Need for speed games. Criterion were supposed to keep making burnout games.
I would agree, but i mostly beg to differ, you aren't wrong on what you said, but simply put that this is EA that we're talking about overall.
Since the PS3, EA eventually decided to shift development to have pre-existing studios to develop and publish high definition games not just titles for the PS2, Blackbox did peak between Underground 2 to most wanted 2005, Carbon was good, but then they were slowly but surely struggling later between Undercover, World, and The Run in regards to sales which eventually at one point led Blackbox to cease existence, and here's the word sales, when the PS3 was released, each year passes by and despite some to none not knowing this, i included, as time goes by, EA ends up biasing their titles from being creative (which gets EA sales from any title published by them.) to being profitable (the exact opposite.)
DLC (once called Expansion Packs) did start on the early 1980's and was becoming viable on the mid 90's, here's where things change, asides making special editions, such as the black edition of NFSmw05 or the collector's edition of NFS Carbon, in 2010 when Hot Pursuit was released, Criterion ended up making a bunch of cars from the Lamborghini Diablo to the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 SS, ofc some didn't see this as a bad thing, but fast forward to 2012 and NFSMW12 exists, which is esentially burnout paradise with licensed cars and less intriguing damage, With this being said, EA didn't give Criterion a lot of time to make another nfs game that was from scratch and what i said a moment ago was the end result, it's DLC, which is the hennessey venom, eventually came out as not only an intriguing car, but also overpowered as hell, any online player who is not driving that type of car would not be able to beat it, unless they go get the dlc and get the car for themselves, such DLC was basically made to force people into buying it for EA's satisfaction of profit, and that is still going on today, only thing is that today's NFS is still being runned on NFS 2015's potato physics and mechanics and lets not forget, an obnoxious amount of content on Unbound which is all made to include onto the sales of such game, from volume catch up packs to car packs, some that are newly made and most that pre-existed since fucking heat, for instance the Volume 4 customs pack, which has Rachel's 350Z and Eddies's Skyline and the yellow Polestar 1, Buick Regal GNX in Vol.
The saints row 2 menu music is so nostalgic for me and adds to the whole video
MW 2012 is the most fun nfs game ever, but it is no way near the best, which is the one and only GOAT, The Run
39:59 I assume you haven't played Fast and Furious Crossroads
Does watching videos about it count? I have noticed it isn't the best fast and furious game to be developed, and it does worse than payback.
I'd say yes, don't play it. I think it's better to leave this game as a meme. I mean it's so bad it's laughable
2012 was pretty good online when it came out so many memories
I hated MW 2012 because i got locked out of mp because i played it first on my boys xbox. Thats when games were locked to home consoles so people would buy new games over used games
This game is so dogshit in more ways than I can count. But I gotta admit, the sound design is top tier. Driving through a tunnel in a Gallardo is incredible.
NFS The Run is so underrated, played the whole thing and the story was a easy 9/10, the vehicle selection was a 7/10 but was still an amazing game
whait only 116 o.0 dude u deserve more subscribers
Dependable.
That "EVERYONEEEE" Blew my Ears Cuz i was at max volume with my headphones XD
You earned a sub for the amount of effort you put into this video alone.
It's how I run the channel, much obliged
fun fact, the game was started with the name NFS hawaii which can also be seen in the game folder
It is very distracting and makes it bored very fast most wanted 2012 has no distraction just mad speed. and strong a gameplay …think about it By it being simple just the way it is made it fun
Zero customization 💪 strong gameplay
@@lexusdearmon9961 I mean, yes, but only visual customization wont hurt. I have played nfs 2015 and I cant go with the gameplay 🤢
NFSMW 2012 was actually the game that introduced me to the series. Having now played the classic NFS, as well as the newer ones especially Heat. One thing I can positively say about NFSMW 2012 is the music choice.
Try playing the xbox 360 edition, the damn swat truck can keep up with the lambo, how, idk but it does.
Im sorry, but this game wasn't the reason why the series became bad. It was NFS Rivals that completely changed it. This NFS MW was and still is really good.
Dude you need for speed rivals Is my favorite need for speed all I need is a cross play. I love running from mad Koenigsegg cups.
I miss the blackbox era 🥺 05 most wanted was just brilliant 🥺
2012 most wanted wasn’t too bad, but it just didn’t feel like need for speed anymore. Still the same to this day but eh unbound isn’t too bad.. but underground 1, 2 most wanted carbon, pro street, undercover.. Nfs world even.. I think of nfs and I remember these…. excluding the hot pursuits etc
everyone has there opinions 🤷♀️
Deserve more subs mate, liked and subscribed 👍
Underrated channel
I'll just suggest keeping your vocal cords calmer :)
I will try that as much as possible
22:43 jumpscared me lmao
jokes aside, this is a great video about a very interesting game in the franchise, one that got more hate than it deserved
As long as you get the mods to fix the latency the game isn't too bad. Great sound design and an awesome soundtrack just wish they gave you more races per car.
I thought _Undercover_ was considered the straw that broke the camel's back for NFS.
When i was racing the bosses, i had the feeling that im racing against saint whites XD

This game went from Most Wanted 2 to Burnout Paradise 2 real quick
This was my childhood game, it was the first NFS I played and I always loved it
both most wanteds are good, its just one didnt need to be called most wanted
In my humble, personal opinion, this game was supposed to be abstract in its theme. That's why all of the blacklist car are white and have no names, that's why the cutscenes are so bizzare and have no voice acting and characters. I personally really enjoyed this concept, however I agree that this shouldn't have been called NFS Most Wanted.
That’s why I like this game a lot it’s simple
Wow, this is so well put together! I'm shocked to see you with "400" subs! :O
The saints row 2 music in the background is goated
22:41 you scared the shit out of my turtle
It’s a decent game, but it’s not “most wanted” and never should’ve had that name
Would love to see more less talked about racing games like this one , even a hot pursuit 2 would be sweet nice video !
Love your video bro keep up the good work my dude love you
16:54 even worse, that voice line s ripped straight from NFS Hot Pursuit (2010)! (something to note though, code 3 in police talk means: "respond to emergency with lights and sirens.")
the fact that they named it "most wanted" and the inclusion of annoying crash cam were my only two complaints. Using trainer sidesteps the second issue though.
