It's been 10 years today since the attacks. I keep returning to this performance for comfort, but it still hurts like hell.

This was in Oslo NORWAY for some years ago, and we never forget this tragedy. Unfortunately this repeats itself all the time, any place in the world, let us not forget it and together fight against the violence that is becoming more and more fanatical and destructive worldwide..........................PLEASE

It's three years since the horrible happening. For all the 77 sacrifices who passed away, their friends and families and for all the people who got affected by this horrible situation. You’ll always be loved and never forgotten.

This is a fine felt and true performance by Bruce Springsteen and Steven van Zandt. I can't belive how hard it must have been for these artists to find a song that gives some kind of comfort. I hope that all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and friends find the true passion of this song. There were many other great artists, like Lille-Bjorn Nilsen who performed at the 22.July 2012 in Oslo. I hope that all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and friends will remember that we will never forget.
Have you ever seen his smile during regular concerts? You think he's in it for the money? Hell no, he is doing it because he likes it, he doesn't care about his money, he even showed up at Pinkpop in the Netherlands for less than Coldplay the year after him, it's unfair to throw this out, because Springsteen DOES care about the common man.

The introduction by the presenter before the guys entered the satge, went something like:

Guy Carawan passed away recently 2.5.2015, who is real songwriter "We shall overcome" ,2.5.2015. Everybody think, Pete Seeger is songwrite of this song, it is not TRUTH.... Guy Carawan is creator of this wonderful song. Remember it , Please.....

The red rose is also a symbol of love. A great mix since it's the logo of those who were attacked, and it symbolises love. Stop taking everything as if everyone else were as cynical as you.

How can you say something like that? First of all, it was Ap who suffered the loss.. I don't see any reason that Krf should stand there and talk about 22.july. This ceremony was nothing else tha a memorial to the loved ones who died and theyr relatives.

This is nonsense what "fetsen" is saying. First of all, Bruce was not payed to appaer on this memorial concert. It was a free concert. Second, Oslo is the city where Bruce and his wife first met. It is also the city where they "made" their first child. So he knows very well where he is. As do Steven, who has been alot in Oslo and Norway in these last few years, bot doing TV and as apromoter of Norwegian artists through his radio program in the US.

The only ones who use this tragedy in politics is FRP who over and over blames AP for using this tragedy to get more votes. AP have said they don't want votes given only in sympathy, and it's not much more to do.
Still, as an organization (political or not) they must be allowed to honour those who died, since they died on their summer camp, and they died from an attack on their organization. A ceremony certainly isn't too much.

I think this memorial concert ceremony was way too much. It's unfair that certain political parties (arbeiderpartiet) use the massacre on Utøya to become a stronger party (i.e. using the red rose which is the symbol for Arbeiderpartiet). This ceremony was full of propaganda. I liked the part with Bruce Springsteen singing this song though.
Just pretend for a second that this was some guy at your local talent contest. Terrible, sloppy musicianship all way 'round. This fucking SUCKS.
I love Bruce's music and have been a steady follower since BitUSA, but it must be admitted: it is entirely different to be backed by a full band with the technicians correcting any clumsiness in playing, than standing on your own where all the mistakes can be heard. From a musical point of view, Bruce or not, this song should have been rehearsed much better.
You dont understand. It does not matter that it wasn't a great performance, what matters is that one of the greatest in music history showed up in small Norway to honor the victims. How many Americans can place Norway on a map or even knows its a country....Also the weather was not the best, no "warm-up songs" and so on. Still A special event in many meanings.
