That's the legendary David Byron on vocals Mick Box on lead guitar & Gary Thain on bass. And that deafening Hammond. All brilliant musicians and remember this was produced in 1972! Way ahead of their time
Had this on 8-Track...The Wizard was a big hit on the radio when this came out but this album had other great tracks including Traveler in Time and Poets Justice not to mention Paradise/ The Spell this album also features fantastic cover art by Roger Dean who designed most of Yes's album covers.
@@larryzigler6812 no but I had a friend from California who moved here to Tennessee turn me on to them I always liked them he also turned me on to a group from Wales called Man amongst others
Lead vocal - David Byron, Keyboards and vocals - Ken Hensley, Guitar - Mick Box, Gary Thain, Base and backup vocals, Drums - Lee Kerslake. Mick Box is the only surviving member of this line-up which is usually considered the classic line up. They are about to release a new recording even 50 years later. 40+ million sold overall. Check out an acoustic set with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) ua-cam.com/video/rwpRZoCGJzA/v-deo.html with the current band.
From the Heep Classic line-up - Mick Box Lead Guitar and vocal harmonization, David Byron Lead Singer, Ken Hensley Hammond Organ , Slide Guitar, Guitars, and vocal harmonization, Gary Thain Bass guitar and vocal harmonization, Lee "The Bear" Kerslake Drums and vocal harmonziation.
Favourite Heep tunes? So many to choose from. Basically 4 eras to choose from resulting from different lead vocalists - David Byron, John Lawton, Peter Goalby, and Bernie Shaw. A lot of fans dismiss anything but Byron vocals from their early days, but that is a mistake. My favourite vocalist is perhaps John Lawton. If Tom Jones ever got into hard/progressive rock he'd sound like Lawton. Powerful voice. Try Free n' Easy or The Dance. Bernie Shaw isn't any slouch either. Try 1995's Love in Silence or 2018's Living the Dream.
Radio is for the shitty fast-food music only. Classic Uriah Heep? From 1972 to 1972. Then ´with John Lawton 1977-1978. You can check Look at yourself, Gypsy, Shadows of Grief, Return to Fantasy, July Morning, Pilgrim, Sunrise…….

First band I ever saw live aged 15 in 1976. Amazing band. Love them.
Been a Heep fan since 1971, Look At Yourself is still a kick azz LP and my favorite. But this is a good one also along with many others.
Bought this new back in the day ☮☮💘💘
In 1972 my college roommate and me would listen to the Heep stoned out of our minds all night.
@@bumperu Yea did that a few times with to many to mention. Another good song was Mountain Nantucket Sleighride from live Twin Peaks 1974
I love UH, Deep Purple, and Rainbow. I was 9 yo and these were the groups that got me hooked on rock. 🤘🎸🎸
