Hi Robbie, if you have the wire wast baskets from the dollar store you can put them upside down on top of your seedlings and the critters can’t eat them. It worked for me
When you were looking at the hummingbird feeders, there was the flexible tie right next to it. I take the flexible tie and use that for the foot stand attached to the flower. It is so much nicer to use around the flower. The birds love to sit on the flexible tie in my garden too.
There are a lot of flowers who are excellent companion plants for veggies and are also great for pollinators. Marigolds, Calendula, Nasturtium and Zinnia are just a few.
You can use the wire baskets and glue the closed ends together and put a dollar tree plate or charger on top and make a chair side table for outside or even inside!!! The yellow finches loved eating the sunflower seeds and when the flower droops they use the backside and fill it with seeds and perch on top and dine!!!😊
OMG...Now I feel the need to go shopping for extra feeders. Since the recent storm wiped out the trees, the Humingbirds have all flocked to my yard to feed like crazy. I have all 3 out & am filling them twice a week with the 4 parts water to 1 part white sugar recipe you posted. I am happy to help them survive. I told them they have to find their own insects. They are so damned entertaining!
i use your recipe for humming bird food and i have been using the dollar tree humming bird feeders for over a year they love it. i have a couple of hummingbirds that squawk at me if i don't fill their favorite feeder right away. i think i am going to pick up some more at the dollar tree for back ups

Really enjoyed this vlog. You have such great ideas. The flower mixture in the boxes cover a large area and grow really well. Sourkraut is a good use of the cabbage and is super easy to make. hi robbie the cheapper seeds at dollar stores walmart etc as tempting as they are are genetically modified seeds and will cause great havoc in your gardens please do your own research what you want are non gmo seeds which will be proudly labeled on the front or back of pkg these healthy seeds are a bit more but worth it remember we will be eating and digesting the fruits of these seeds.

I got in my car and took off. You mention dollar store, but didn't specify, so I drove to Dollar Store, the Family Dollar and others and no luck. Anyways I went home, but one of my sisters frequents these stores and I sent a picture from your video, that if she spotted some to let me know (she lives in another city but we see each other often). During her lunch she drove to the closest dollar store to her which was a Dollar Tree and found them for me. Since I have bought more, I even use them as sifters for my compost. Thank you!!
Great minds think alike, I too have used them for sifting. Yes, that is true, that not all the dollar stores are the same, here both dollar store and 99 cent stores have them, but not each and every store, and they sell out too, but they seem to get them in now and than, I even found them at other dollar type store for a dollar. I just bought 4 packs of pickling cucumber seeds at Dollar Tree yesterday. :) You should totally do the fairy thing! They are so cute. Your Dollar Tree has some much nicer looking stuff than mine. All the stuff at mine looks like it would fall apart in 5 seconds.

I have a Junco nest on my balcony in a pot and a ton of hummers that visit by it as well. I have one feeder. I tried to do the peanut butter feeder but cracked the lid so melting the holes is smarter. I didn't have a soldering iron so need to find another melting method for the holes.
Wow I bought one 😂 I'm a first time bird feeder ,I do the plants . I decided to do a feeder because the birds making a nest inside my flowers pots that hang. . 😩😩😂I know it's what their supposed to do . Which is why I now know I have to get a better feeder or more of these I didn't know they didn't share well. 😀 I love birds I had no idea they are territorial. 😄That's cute for them like what's aggressive look like for them. 🥴😏

I have two stumps they were cut down from a great big tree in my backyard and these fairy creatures and things would be so cute but around the log and make a door on the log on the trunk of the tree that's the bass the roots and stuff I'm definitely going to go there and see if I can find some thanks for the great information

those seeds can be stored for years IF you keep them in a food baggie in the fridge. I just checked seeds I bought 4 years ago and most are sprouting at a 90% germination rate. HOWEVER a caveat check the packets with light seeds I had several empty Black seed Lettuce packets. The baggies keep the seeds from drying out.
You can have a theme, like fairies, elves, or some other favorite, like scenes from children's books. There are so many small collectables that would make it all come to life. Picture a Shrek terrarium, or other colorful theme to fire the imagination. You don't have to be a child to enjoy it. You could even put real plants in it and some little lizards or chameleons. I'm ready to do this...I have a huge fish tank that's begging to be filled with dreams of unicorns and fairies.

I went there and got the outhouse and some of the little gnomes. I set it up as one gnome was learning on a signpost and I wrote on it toilet paper a dollar square and the other gnomes were waiting in line they look like they were the doing the pee pee dance. I did it for quarantine.

New concern. I have a gazebo and I use it to hang my hummingbird feeders all around I also have a lot of hungry squirrels who have discovered them they are causing the loss of a lot of the food in the containers they tilt it and drink it I have pictures of them upside down doing this they’re hilarious to watch but they’re starting to bug me because it’s making more work for me to refill them and clean them I don’t have that many places to hang on but I will find some more so darn smart anyway so I should enjoy this Levi think of anything I can do let me know
If you come across a fish tank that is not damaged, you don't have to fill it with water and fish...you can build a scene with little outdoor eye candy, bridges, shrubbery, etc. It's something to look at, without having to maintain a regular fish tank.

Hey Robbie, sorry for stalking your vids. I don't typically comment a ton, but you have so many interesting videos! I was wondering how your dollar store seeds worked out? The kale I planted months ago are so stunted they still look like seedlings. :o It's probably user error on my part (in zone 8a) so I had to ask! I have seeds I could use for a winter garden, but I'm kinda scared/intimidated to plant them. Anywho, thanks for your time and great vids! ^.^ Keep up the awesomeness!
The seeds I planted are doing just fine.....But with kale, that can grow slow if your weather is hot, as they prefer cooler weather to start off....I wonder if it is the temperature. Try keeping the Kale outside in a more shaded cooler area until late Fall. Usually the seeds are fine, just light in seeds like some of the squash packets only had about 5 seeds, but that was fine for me. AND do not worry about planting them, as not all seeds grow, some grow better than others, and the big thing is to get what grows good in your yard to grow and collect those seeds....like squash, celery....planting is trial and error, testing as to what plants like your garden, thanks, Robbie

I have my kale up on my porch where they only get part sun and with the heat to come they probably won't make it. I guess I forget some things are never perfect especially in nature. I haven’t had hummingbird feeder’s in ages!! The other day I saw some flying around my house 😮yay!!!! So I bought 2 feeders and got them ready and hung them up. I’ve grown those radishes right above your hand when you grabbed the zucchini. They worked great! I plan on getting many more seeds there.

Hey Robbie I saw an upside down hummingbird feeder fountain
this is the first time I have seen this video.. I was just wondering if we could use the soldering gun and put some extra holes in between the little yellow flowers and maybe paint yellow around the holes? not sure if it would work or not being closer to the water than the yellow flowers.. just wondering..
Hey Robbie, sorry for stalking your vids. I don't typically comment a ton, but you have so many interesting videos! I was wondering how your dollar store seeds worked out? The kale I planted months ago are so stunted they still look like seedlings. :o It's probably user error on my part (in zone 8a) so I had to ask! I have seeds I could use for a winter garden, but I'm kinda scared/intimidated to plant them. Anywho, thanks for your time and great vids! ^.^ Keep up the awesomeness!
The seeds I planted are doing just fine.....But with kale, that can grow slow if your weather is hot, as they prefer cooler weather to start off....I wonder if it is the temperature. Try keeping the Kale outside in a more shaded cooler area until late Fall. Usually the seeds are fine, just light in seeds like some of the squash packets only had about 5 seeds, but that was fine for me. AND do not worry about planting them, as not all seeds grow, some grow better than others, and the big thing is to get what grows good in your yard to grow and collect those seeds....like squash, celery....planting is trial and error, testing as to what plants like your garden, thanks, Robbie

All food for thought. I have my kale up on my porch where they only get part sun and with the heat to come they probably won't make it. I guess I forget some things are never perfect especially in nature. I'll probably plant a few of each variety and keep a journal on how they do.. Granted every year is different climate wise. I haven’t had hummingbird feeder’s in ages!! The other day I saw some flying around my house 😮yay!!!! So I bought 2 feeders and got them ready and hung them up. Now I’m waiting and no Precious Hummingbird’s. 😥 What am I doing wrong????? Do I need to sing to them?? Lol I really want them to visit!!!! It would help me not to be 😞 sad 😔!!!!! Help Please!!!!!!
