amystubby I feel this in my spirit. I’m a business communications masters student, you think I can justify using missy as a example of effective multigenerational communication through multimedia and social networking?
Spot on. There is one race - the human race. Racism is a thing, but it's based on race, which scientifically speaking, isn't actually a thing. Maybe when humanity is fighting to the death against a superior alien race one day, we'll finally realise that we have more that unites us than divides us, but it will be too late by then..... 😕
In an age where everyone is forgotten except the likes of Tupac, Biggie, Ice Cube, and LL-Cool J, etc... Missy, Timberland, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, that whole clique influenced millions of us in a positive way as pre-teens and teens. From the way we talk to our style of dress, even our choices of who we consider attractive... They DON'T get enough credit for all they've done for the community.
@@sandra-jones True but they will ALWAYS be talked about in the black American community because of their deaths while positive people will be for gotten if they don't go Hollywood or are involved in a scandal

Missy Elliott is such an inspirational woman. Growing up as a girl born in 1990 I really loved her music and the creativity of her music videos. Beautifully done my internet cousins.
I 💖this trip down memory lane into the future. The summer Supa Dupa Fly dropped, I was turning 36. I bought the cd, and cassette tape. On a long drive to to take my kids, then 15 and 12, down south, I wore them out and they learned the songs front to back. My young black nerds had risen to the next level! You ladies just gave me life with this millennial recap. Keep up the good work, this granny is subscribed to take the ride. Peace & Conscious Intuition, Queen AnkhEarth ☕️♍️
I had no idea she was from Portsmouth! So am I!! Tidewater proud, y'all.
me too!
Ladies, y'all knocked it out of the park.
Wait, Malcolm Maclaren produced "Double Dutch"? Didn't know or expect that.
Y’all are soooo CUTE!!! 🥰 All the feels! Thanks for making my morning commute bearable!!!!🤗🤗
What do yall mean "what is this?" Its a sidekick! That was the future!
I could not click on this fast enough!!! Missy Misdemeanor fan4life!!
Could we possibly compare Missy with George Clinton and his impact on afrofuturism? Back then, it feels like George (and the entire Parliament crew) was definitely channeling vibes ahead of his time, no?
This was a FANTASTIC analysis! Not surprised that this is PBS, always holding up the torch for greatness.
Missy Elliott is such an inspirational woman. Growing up as a girl born in 1990 I really loved her music and the creativity of her music videos. She was a role model for girls of my generation, and I wanted to grow up to be the kind of woman that I perceived her to be. In an era of hypersexualized young women in media and especially music videos, Missy Elliott really stood out to me as a strong, talented, creative, beautiful, confident, aristic woman.
The Boring Company is building the super fast car tunnel from Missy’s video soon ❤️❤️
Why no talking about Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko played by the indomitable actor Avery Brooks on Star trek DS9 arguably THE best Star Trek television series ?
Ok, you've convinced me... Missy Elliott is a time traveler from the future. XD
Seriously, awesome video. I see my future includes rewatching Missy Elliott videos now.
I love this channel from bottom of my feet and heart. I definitely turn PBS on for my mother's childcare kids, thanks for the support PBS!
I freaking love this channel!
I honestly feel like we've borrowed Missy lightyears from the future! She's dope enough to be a clique all by herself, but The SupaFriends were dope and we haven't caught up to her yet! I'm so glad that she's racking up honors while she's here to appreciate them!!!
Left eye also had a similar view especially with her group Blaque
Another awesome video! Idk if anyone's ever told you Heallease, but you look a lot like Ngzoi Paul from Da Kink in My Hair! I had to Google to make sure you weren't her going under a new name 😂
Yall need to recognize! Supa Dupa Fly is what Portsmouth VA looks like! Come down and visit sometimes.🌈😀
that trekkie bit was just too cute, thumbs up from me XD
Well done, ladies! 👏🏾I was smiling and laughing throughout this whole video. Grateful for you all, thanks for shedding light and bringing our culture to the forefront.🤗✨
So insightful and so well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hi La Guardia! - Hallease
@@SayItLoudPBS HEEEY! Love what y'all are doing.
I always knew Missy was a bonefide Blerd, even before the term was coined
FOR HER TO NOT BE GIVEN AN ICON AWARD BEFORE JLO MAKES NO SENSE.
Heck She should have been given the Micheal Jackson recipient award before Beyoncé.. The woman wrote hits before her Supa Dupla Fly album was released. I will always love me some Missy Elliot.
Thanks for suggesting 'Children of Blood and Bone', seems right up my alley. Excited about it. 🙌🏾
Missy was and is still BOSS !
I love Timbs!
Can you do a video on feminism in 90s r&b. Eg janet Jackson, tlc, etc.
as actors, you guys are too underrated. I love your delivery in the mini skits
Yooo, I’m going down a rabbit hole myself. Thank you for this video! 💗💗 the idea of afrofuturistic sounds and style is something that I had when I was younger, but now can I appreciate I can’t wait to experience all of it.
Love your usual videos but absolutely here for a Missy Elliott appreciation video lol. She rules!
