Kobe is a top 5. You can't deny, when he was in the game that he was not the best player on the floor? And impact the game the most? 2002-06 Kobe was top 3! I witnessed it!
@@Sjsjssjjsjsj-wjdkyk Kobe was superior to Shaq in the western conference, admittedly by Phil Jackson, everyone knows the real finals were in the western conference finals. You can’t tell me the Spurs and Kings aren’t better than the Sixers and Nets. Just say you didn’t watch games back then
@@Sjsjssjjsjsj-wjdkykand how about his 3 peat to a finals from 2008 to 2010??? Wasn't he the best player not in his team, but in entire league? 😂😂😂He absolutely was. And btw 2000s were the toughest era of basketball. Many many great teams and many legendary players facing each other in same time. And to put things in perspective, Shaq couldn't win a single ring without Kobe in his career, his career is nothing without Kobe. Before Kobe he didn't have either title or MVP and I'm going to argue that Shaq needed Kobe more than Kobe needed Shaq. Because in 2000 in conference finals against Portoand, game 7, most important game of the series, finals or bust probably, Kobe had that game most points, most rebounds, most assists and most steals. You heard that right, he had more points and rebounds than Shaq that game and also more steals and assists than him... AT AGE OF 21. Than in finals again, the most important game of that series, game 5. Shaq was fouled out, Kobe played terrible games before, guess what??? When Shaq was out, Kobe told everybody not to panic and he hit clutch shot after clutch shot in both rehulation and overtime and won that game while scoring 28 points and I'm saying again, HE WAS 22 YEARS OLD. Next year in 2001, Kobe was the best player in entire western conference. He was the best player in first round, 2nd round and conference finals against team with the best record. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, LOOK AT THE NUMBERS. First team was 50+ winning team, Kobe averaged 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists on 47% shooting. 2nd team was Sacramento and they actually had 55+ wins that season. Kobe averaged 35 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists on 47% shooting. And than finally against team with the best record in the league, San Antonio Spurs who had 60+ wins that year, Kobe averaged 33 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists on 51% shooting from the field. Those are not stats from a guy who is veteran or who soend a lot of years in the NBA, THOSE ARE STATS FROM 2W YEARS OLD ASSASIN WHO WAS ON HIS MISSION THAT SEASON. Shaq was onoy the best player in finals that year, but it's also important THE ROAD OF THE FINALS, not just finals because to win title, you have to win in first, 2nd and 3rd round to reavh the finals. And Kobe was the best player for entire play off run in first 3 rounds.
Kobe and Tim D. easily top 5 players. You can’t just ignore the 2 guys who reigned over the by far harfest decade of the game, yeah russel, chamberlain magic or kareem were great players for their era, but I am sure as hell they wouldn’t have nearly the same amount of accolades if they played in the 2000s
Tim is not top 5 for us, top 10? Absolutely, we have him 8 and Kobe 5. Magic is way better than Tim. The greatest PG ever ranked 6th on our list. With these soft a$$ rules today. He'd avg 18+ APG. Wilt is the most physically dominant player ever even by today's standards. Probably the strongest player ever. The man deadlift 600 lbs! ask Arnold. He was also a phenomenal triathlon! nobody in the NBA can do that. He is ranked 2nd all-time behind MJ. Wilt would avg 35 15 7 today with no threes. Lane is wide open. Mj would average 47-50 when he is not mad. The game is horrible today. Look at the ratings. Colorado has higher ratings than the NBA and they are rebuilding team. That's all you need to know.
@@hainavidotcom yeah I mostly agree with what you said but you forgot that I was talking about the 2000s decade, this decade is easy as hell to play, 2000-2010 we’re the epitomy of the game of basketball, it had almost the amount of talent of today, it had great storylines, it had great rivalries, and the western conference during that time was just the strongest it had ever been by a huge gap, and Kobe still managed to get 5 rings in this era, even though he had Shaq he still did it twice without him and he faced and beated the most 50 win teams ever with a Pau Gasol, who was by far his best teammate, who only got 1 nba allstar title before he joined Kobe. And 2004-2007 Kobe played with absolute bums, kn the pinnacle of his performance, he got robbed multiple times and was injured a lot, which made his accomplishments on paper just barely top 10, but if you put it into context and ask nba players who actually played him LeBron and MJ the answer is mostly the same, mj was the best ever and Kobe is the only one that came actually close, Kobe in my top 2 definitely but top 5 is also fine I guess, but I heard so much bs about him that’s crazy, apparently he is worse than DWade and Tracy mcgrady, not even top 10 and the most overrated player ever, and Tim Duncan is just forgotten somehow, people should put respect on their names but 5 and 8 is fine
@@TheOneAndOnlyJinglebi The NBA today is shit doo doo. super weak and soft! the softest era in the history of the league and the ratings do not lie. All the others are better. The best era was mid 80s, 90s, and early to mid 00's. Europe is way better. They are the new 90s. This is why all these euros are dominating the game over us born players. every single one of them.
@@hainavidotcom mostly agree but Europeans are just catching up because novadays there are just more people that play this game on a high level outside the us
@@TheOneAndOnlyJinglebi they're better because of the rules and fundamental training. Nba doesn't focus on fundamental. They focus on AAU. Nba has gone down. They don't play at the same level. I'ma former professional athlete that played basketball for the sonics in 2002. Trust me on this

The part where you used true shooting for different superstars, it’s better to show relative true shooting. Also, saying Kobe’s stats are very similar to Jordan is somewhat not accurate; a 2% difference in TS% over a sample size of hundreds of games is huge, and just goes to explain how Jordan really perfected the fundamentals to be so efficient.
MJ got a much bigger chunk of his points from inside of 8-feet than Kobe did thanks to his lethal first step, and leaping ability. MJ also didn't play for 20 seasons. 45% FG for a 20-year career, a perimeter player, and a guy who gets over half of his points from 10-feet or further from the basket is actually very efficient, especially for the lowest scoring era in NBA history, and that's with taking many tough shots at times. If you were an NBA coach, would you ever tell a defender to sag off against Kobe Bryant from anywhere on the court? Would you allow Kobe to get a clean look shooting the ball from any range? Would you rely on committing a single defender against Kobe? No, you wouldn't because Kobe was an all-time great shooter, and he was especially great at shooting through contact. Go and watch Kobe goat szn to see how great of a shooter he really was. He would make shots through contact, or off of movement, and draw fouls while getting the and-1s off of jump-shots consistently. In the occasion that Kobe got a clean look, or a single defender matched up with him, Kobe was money from any distance. Kobe also had the greatest pull-up jumper in NBA history. If Kobe wanted to shoot 50% FG for his career, he easily could have by reducing the amount of contested shots he took. Kobe did play a more controlled game at times, but when his team needed him to carry the scoring load, he would take more chances with more difficult looks, and creating his own shot more often, especially when the shot-clock was running down, his team was on a scoring drought, or when he needed to carry his team across the finish line late in games. During his most efficient seasons, he would hover around 46% to 48% FG, and that was when he had competent teammates around him, and he didn't have to take as many contested shots.
MJ had Pippen to play D, Kobe was MJ and Pippen in one so his efficiency is a little lower. First team all Defense while averaging 35 ppg is crazy and no MVP.
@@docallentv Kobe’s defensive peak was in 2000, after that lots of his all defense selections are more out of his reputation. Sure, he’s one of the best when he’s locked in, but he isn’t always in that mode
I don’t understand stand bro, first we were arguing whether Kobe was better than Jordan. Now he is “worse” than Lebron and then people don’t place him top 10 all time anymore. Social media is a joke, Kobe is top 5 all time, if u don’t think Kobe is not top 5 all time then that’s ur opinion but if don’t put Kobe in top 10 ATLEAST then u are straight up delusional. Kobe did not get carried by Shaq it has been proven Kobe could have easily gotten the 3 fmvps if the offense ran through Kobe.
No serious fan ever argued that Kobe was better than Jordan. Kobe scored less, on worse efficiency, played worse defence, won less championship, and won way less MVPs and finals MVPs.
I agree also Shaq put up those numbers becuase the East had weak center or were past there prime while Kobe had to guard three hall of famers Miller IA Kidd in those three finals
He's in the top 8-11 range. His passing moved him up higher for many. 1 regular season, MVP regardless of circumstances removes him from the top 5 conversation. Hes not even the best player in his era. This belongs to Duncan, who some don't have in their top 5. Which is crazy
Accept I just a video from 2010-11 season of a panel discussing if he had passed MJ as the GOAT they all said not yet but he right there with him his legacy has been under attack since he retired/died seems Kobe gets worse and worse every year
Brilliant Video man 👍. Kobe is in my Top 5 no question of Greatest Players of All Time - Top 5: MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem and Kobe. Kobe gets in my Best Starting 5 aswell - Starting 5: MJ, Pippen, Rodman, AI & Kobe.

People akways try to leave Kobe off the lists by saying he wasn't efficient. Dude won three titles in a row with Shaq, and then built his team up instead of running somewhere else and won two more titles in a row without Shaq. You can say every player on the GOAT lists needed the other people to win titles because it is super rare for a team with just one star to win a title.
I agree Kobe won back to back with out a 75 player in a stack west with less help dident join a súper team Kobe the only player that three peat and back to back in the last 20 years

Kobe's all-time ranking is so varied because most of the people who are judging his career didn't actually watch him play. After Kobe won his 5th championship, the conversation was about Kobe being a legitimate threat to MJ's GOAT status. That was the realistic conversation back in 2010-2013. Once Lebron won his first championship, and Kobe got hurt, the media started trying to devalue Kobe's legacy, and they somewhat succeeded on a shallow level with the younger generation of fans who started watching basketball towards the end of Kobe's career, or after Kobe had retired. There was a time when there was no question about Kobe's greatness, but Lemedia with their Legenda has went out of their way to reduce Kobe to the level of guys like Lebron, Steph Curry, or KD. Kobe was always beyond any of those guys in skill level, ability, talent, and championship pedigree. In a league with guys like Duncan, Dirk, Lebron, Shaq, Iverson, Kidd, Carmello, Wade, and so many others, Kobe was far beyond any of them, and they all knew it.
I watched Kobe's entire career, i was a few years out of high school when he was drafted. Kobe is not a top ten player all time and he shouldn't be anywhere near the GOAT conversation.
@@CriticaLLout i know, i was talking about how this guy says someone said that if you cant be the best at your position then u cant be top 10 but if u have 5 positions and 5 best players how do you have 10 players for the top 10?
one important thing to note about kobe is his lack of ANY advanced stat success. some say advanced stats aren't a perfect indicator of how good a player is as basketball. but its a pretty good one. my goat is michael jordan. in a 7 year stretch, he led the league in PER, VORP, BPM, and winshares. for 7 years straight. the next closest thing is lebron from 2009-2013. who happens to be my #2 all time. lebron from 2009-2013 also led the league in PER, VORP, BPM, and winshares. in total, jordan has led advanced stats 60 times in his career. lebron has led the league 43 times. other greats like duncan, shaq, magic, bird, kareem, wilt, russell, even modern ones like curry and durant have led the league dozens of times throughout their careers. theres just one player missing, and i think you know who it is. kobe. kobe, not once in 20 years, led the league in a single advanced stat. out of all the "concensus top ten" players, kobe is the only player to have never done this. he is also the only player among the "top ten" that has a career negative defensive +/-. just some food for thought.

The thing that boggles my mind to this date is that there are other NBA greats who are in EVERYONE's the top 10, but have very similar careers/arguements as Kobe.... but Kobe gets overlooked : 1) Hakeem the dream - 2x NBA Champ, 2x FMVP, and is (argued by many) as the most skilled big man in history of the NBA.... Many ex-NBA players (like Jalen Rose, Pierce, Billups) allargue that Kobe was the MOST SKILLED nba player ever... Why does Hakeem get in the top 10 because of skill but Kobe doesnt? 2) Duncan has had a very similar career to Kobe: both 5x NBA Titles, both most defensive teams for their respective positions (Forward vs. Guard), had phenominal supporting casts.. And Kobe even dominates DUncna in head-to-head battles in the West Playoffs (out of 6 series, Kobe won 4 including 2 sweeps in 2002, and 2008). Why is Duncan in everyone's top 10 and Kobe is not in top 10? They should be ranked very close to each other. 3) The "inefficiency" fallacy.. Based on CAREER TRUE SHOOTING: Kobe shot better than other top 10 greats: Hakeem the Dream, Duncan, and Bill Russell. Kobe's career TS% is only 1% below MJ's at 55% vs 56%, respectively. Kobe, in basically any arguement, should be in everyone's top 10. I think what perhaps hurts his arguement are the journalist based votes of "MVP" since Kobe only has 1... issue is that from 2002-2013, Kobe finished top 5 in MVP voting from in 12 out of 13 seasons... Only season he didn't finish top 5 in was due to Kobe's court battle.
Kobe is top 5, or top 3 depending on who you ask. There is no way he isn't top 5. They can deny it all they want, but there aren't 5 guys in NBA history who were better than Kobe. Not Lebron, not Duncan, not Shaq, not Hakeem, not Bird, and not Magic. Outside of MJ, the only other guys I would even consider putting ahead of Kobe would be maybe Kareem, and Wilt. That's it!! Everyone else doesn't hold a candle to Kobe Bryant.
Not a shot jacker, efficient for his era with the most assists by position too. Did not give up in game 7 vs Sun (24 points on 66% shooting) Made playoffs without Phil Jackson So you criticize Kobe for taking less efficient shots then you criticize him for taking more efficient shots, then you lie?
Another Kobe fan try to weasel out of Kobe WORST stats and intentionally not show them (we all know the "it was a defensive game guys" and "4th quarter tho" arguments). Another video going to ignore the FG and because Kobe is good at FT will just look at true shooting. Here are some FACTS about Kobe being "good" at the finals. Kobe was shooting BELOW 35 % FG in 12 out of his 37 games in the finals. You ask why he is called inefficient? This is why. Let's compare him to D Wade , Jordan and Lebron. D Wade shot below 35 % FG 3 times out of 29 games, MJ 3 times out of 35 games and LeBron 6 times out of 55 games. So JUST TO OPEN your Kobe fan eyes, I will summarize those numbers. Kobe SHOT BELOW 35 % FG in 12/37 (which is 32.4 % of all his games) while MJ, Lebron and Wade COMBINED shot below 35 % in 12 / 119 (10 % of their games). So Kobe alone had equal number of inefficient games at the finals compared to all the other 3 players combined while playing 3 times less games. But as a true "unbiased" Kobe fan you will ignore this and quickly mention some 4th quarter bull**** to paint the picture that somehow Kobe was amazing at the finals. And now let's go to True Shooting at the finals. Who had the most games with less than 45 % TS. MJ just had 1 / 35. Wade had 6/29 , LeBron had 7/55 (all 3 combine to 14) and Kobe had 11 !!!!! /37. Even if you try to escape to the TS it simply won't save your narrative how great Kobe was at the finals. So to answer your question - YES, Kobe is top 10 but he is out of top 5. And it is not even debatable. I would rank him somewhere between 7 and 10.
Cherrypicked stats without context are called narratives. Kobe played in a tough defensive era, was given the most defensive pressure out of anyone in NBA history during his last 3 finals, could affect the game outside of scoring and was injured during most of his finals runs.
@@d3adyoutubeaccount what if I show you the FG of other guards who literally played in Kobe era ??? What if Kobe FG is the worst among them? Will you have enough context? What would be the excuse then? Kobe just is bad in the finals (for an all time great). Facts. You can find excuses all day long . The facts will remain the same. Just for the record, Shaq played in 6 finals, in 3 of them he played Vs literally the 3 best defensive centers of all time: Hakeem, Mutombo, Wallace. Shaq is the player with the highest FG among all centers in the finals despite playing Vs those 3 great defenders. And Kobe...he needs more excuses.
@@MANDMK And Kobe faced Mutombo, Garnett and Wallace’s help defense alongside great perimeter defenders like Jason Kidd, Tony Allen, Tayshaun Prince and Rajon Rondo. He had to go through more defensively
My thing is… whatever you value in players.. Kobe is easily top 10. Skill, peak, prime, accolades, championship, stats. I have him top 5. If ppl don’t that’s fine. But when ppl say “he has no case for top 5” that’s when ik they’re being biased. He’s top 10 easily and has a case for top 5
It’s the inefficiency He was efficient compared to the league and other volume scorers, but not compared to other all-time greats KD may love Kobe but he is a much better scorer than Kobe ever was, and that’s undeniable, there is literally no case to be made for Kobe in that comparison. If Kobe is primarily a ball-dominant scorer and KD (who is in nobody’s Top 5) is a better scorer than him, how does that work? Kobe made a lot of tough midrange shots, but this is not optimal scoring. I believe people confuse the amazing style & aesthetics of Kobe’s game for superior skill and value. I say this as someone who loves nothing more than watching players with an amazing midrange game, Kobe and Melo among them.
STOP IT....THE ONLY REASON LEBRON IS IN THE CONVERSATION IS " MARKETING "........ PICK SOMEONE TO PROMOTE OR SELL YOUR PRODUCTS...THAT'S WHAT THE NBA DID WITH LEBRON... KOBE HAD A LEGAL CASE AGAINST HIM, HE LOST HIS MARKET VALUE...
heres my list, mj and bron 1 and 2 in no order. 3. kareem 4 and 5 would have to be kobe or tim duncan. but leaving magic out? its rough. magic if he didn’t get aids would might have been known as top 3 minimum.
I can tell you in one word... efficiency, of all the GOAT candidates, Kobe is the least efficient, and he is my all time favorite, but MJ, Kareem, Wilt, LeBron, Russell, Magic, Duncan, Shaq, Bird, Hakeem, KD, Steph, all get him on efficiency
Lebron n Steph are not in this they play in the Barbie era bron couldn't win till all the greats basically got 2 old n he jus steamrolled ppl. Not very impressive if u ask me. Ain't got nothing against any of the others u mentioned except of course the bigs are gonna have better efficiency they barely shot the ball everything was in the paint they had 2 earn it tho. MJ n Kobe both top of the pyramid love old skool ball
Era is the reason why some players are where they are LBJ shouldn’t be in anyone’s top 10 he has played in the weakest era’s most inflated era ridiculously low win percentage in playoffs his inability or none desire to play defense except for the occasional defense highlight play all throughout his career he has been a tool to get more people to watch the NBA and I quote the next MJ when he has failed at every single level along with many other players in this era who have the same issues with their careers
He's not better than MJ, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Duncan, Hakeem, Russell, Chamberlain, ShaQ or Bron. Consider this factoid: When Bron, Larry, ShaQ, MJ, Magic etc,. come to your team, your guaranteed to make the playoffs. Every one of the players that I listed would take Smush Parker & Kwame Brown to the PLAYOFFS!!! Without DOMINANT players[And Phil Jackson] he can't make the playoffs. The Blown 4-Peat against Detroit {Jacking up shots & not dumping it to ShaQ, going away from the 🔼 tryin to be like MJ} the blowout chip game 6 against Boston when he didn't show up! He's top 12-18 with Isaiah, Moses, The Big-O, Dr.J, Jerry West.
I know Kobe had Shaq for the first 3, and that Pao was a great player, but he wasn't a superstar. Shaq had a Kobe, but Kobe didn't have a Shaq, or any other superstar. I have seen a lot of bad lists this is def one of the worst Magic and Kobe are top 10 period and you left off both but it’s different give you credit for that
Lol, come on. That's nit even a question. For me it's not even a wuestion if he is top 5 player of all time. Top 5 spot is automatic for him. People just look at his career averages without understanding the context of these numbers. When Kobe was rookie, Lakers already had multiple all stars on the court and first 2 years he was coming off the bench and played very few minutes per game and averahing around 8-10 points per game. And of course, last 2 seasons he wasn't even 30% the player that he was before after toring his achillies, his prime was over in 2013 and he was never the same. If he take away all those seasons, he still had another 15 seasons and btw those are still more seasons than Larry Bird and Magic soo he has played much longer than them. In those 15 season Kobe is actually averaging above 27,5 points per game, that's literally Kobe Bryant, those are stats that we should consider about him because everyone who knows basketball would tell you that Kobe is one of the top 3 greatest scorers of all time. 2nd... The reason why he hasn't 2 or even 3 MVPs in his career is because he is the only top 10 player eho spent prime of his career with terrible supoorting cast. Kobe had insanee stats in both 2006 and 2007, but he didn't win MVP those seasons because Lakers were too famn trash. I see hoe people are critisizing Nuggets right now and yeah, they are bad, Jokic is pulling a miravke right now, but guess what??? They have at least Westbrook who had 29 points last game and Porter eho had like 24 points and their bench isn't soo trash like Lakers's bench in late 2000s. Literally from 2005 to 2007 that Lakers team was even weaker, even worse than these Nuggets, you could also fream some of those players to have 25+ point game... It was all about Kobe on offense AAND defense too. Soo I don't wamt to hear someone telling ne that Larry Bird and Magic are greater players than him because with all due respect to both of these legends... No, it's not even that close when you look at the proper context. Kobe has made 12 defensive teams in his career, 9 of them were first defensive teams, Kobe in his 15 "healthy" seasons averages 3 more points than Larry Bird and his rebounding and passing numbers are also all above 5 soo yeah, you can definitely argue that Larry is greater passer than Kobe, but offensively as a whole package... No, Kobe is bigger killer than Bird. Bird never ever won scoring title in his career, Bird never even averaged 30 points per game, Kobe averaged 30 points per game 3 seasons and he even averaged 35,4 points in one of the best defensive seasons of all time, he won 2 scoring titles and he has much better longevity than Bird. Everyone is comparing Kobe's "real stats per game" against Magic and Larry, but nobody talks about the fact that Kobe played much longer on a high level than both of them, nobody is talking about his longevity and all other things that matter. I can go further and further, but it would be too much for one comment. Anyway, Kobe is for ke clearly better than Magic and Bird. And not just him, I can even argue that Tim Duncan is better than these 2 guys.
Kobe's top 6-8 chill. There 5 positions he's the 2nd best in his, why would be better top 5? If you build a best 5 he makes the bench.... Show the advanced stats and the points ect, Jordan stomps Kobe, get some help. Fruit picking bro 🤭. Hardly a carbon copy when one won 10 straight scoring titles Vs 2 in 5 extra years...come on man that's dumb.
"Fruit picking" but you use scoring titles instead of all NBA, all NBA 1st team , all defense 1st team, points, rebounds, assists (all of which Kobe has more than Mike in).
in my personal top 10 list i also take the consideration of how the player has affected my life or how inspiring he has been for me. kobe has been someone i've looked up to for years and that's one of my strongest reasons to keep him at 2nd in my top 10
Wherever you have Kobe in your top #10 ........he will be surrounded by 9 players that shot at a higher percentage...Facts look at your list.......not my list .....your list......he was a volume shooter, notorious ball hog that led the league in scoring 2 times in 20 years. Lol. The only notable record he has is most misses.
Nice analysis, but some advanced stats without context are not worth a penny. E.g. comparing LBJ and Kobe with clutch shots in the finals in my opinion are pointless - Kobe on arguably half of his finals wasn't the best player on the team, so it was much easier to score for him. In the meantime, LeBron often did not have any help like in the ridiculous 2007 or 2018 finals... And one more thing: it's easy to put Kobe in the top 10, the real struggle is who would land outside of it :) Fingers crossed for upcoming videos, great content!

Simple answer. Because of LeMedia. LeMedia is on the warpath against every great. They won’t stop until Lebron is declared goat, which ain’t gonna happen until the generations that saw Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Kobe, Duncan, Bird etc dies off. Lebron is not in my top 5. Kobe is.
Kobe ranges from 6-8
That's where I have home too!
bro ur so underated wtf, awesome analysis!

The part where you used true shooting for different superstars, it’s better to show relative true shooting. Also, saying Kobe’s stats are very similar to Jordan is somewhat not accurate; a 2% difference in TS% over a sample size of hundreds of games is huge, and just goes to explain how Jordan really perfected the fundamentals to be so efficient.
word. appreciate the feedback

Kobe is a cult of personality. That is why his ranking fluctuates so much.
You are so right, bro. There trying to erase kobe's history

one important thing to note about kobe is his lack of ANY advanced stat success. some say advanced stats aren't a perfect indicator of how good a player is as basketball. but its a pretty good one. my goat is michael jordan. in a 7 year stretch, he led the league in PER, VORP, BPM, and winshares. for 7 years straight. the next closest thing is lebron from 2009-2013. who happens to be my #2 all time. lebron from 2009-2013 also led the league in PER, VORP, BPM, and winshares. in total, jordan has led advanced stats 60 times in his career. lebron has led the league 43 times. other greats like duncan, shaq, magic, bird, kareem, wilt, russell, even modern ones like curry and durant have led the league dozens of times throughout their careers. theres just one player missing, and i think you know who it is. kobe.
kobe, not once in 20 years, led the league in a single advanced stat. out of all the "concensus top ten" players, kobe is the only player to have never done this. he is also the only player among the "top ten" that has a career negative defensive +/-. just some food for thought.

The thing that boggles my mind to this date is that there are other NBA greats who are in EVERYONE's the top 10, but have very similar careers/arguements as Kobe.... but Kobe gets overlooked :
1) Hakeem the dream - 2x NBA Champ, 2x FMVP, and is (argued by many) as the most skilled big man in history of the NBA....
Only season he didn't finish top 5 in was due to Kobe's court battle.
he is top4
Kobe is top 5, or top 3 depending on who you ask. There is no way he isn't top 5. They can deny it all they want, but there aren't 5 guys in NBA history who were better than Kobe. Not Lebron, not Duncan, not Shaq, not Hakeem, not Bird, and not Magic. Outside of MJ, the only other guys I would even consider putting ahead of Kobe would be maybe Kareem, and Wilt. That's it!! Everyone else doesn't hold a candle to Kobe Bryant.

Put him and Shaq tied at 7.
He was efficient compared to the league and other volume scorers, but not compared to other all-time greats
KD may love Kobe but he is a much better scorer than Kobe ever was, and that’s undeniable, there is literally no case to be made for Kobe in that comparison.
This is a crazy take brother. You did well in research
appreciate that homie
This some high roller shit good stuff
thanks bro
He’s top 5 not top 3 tho
that's crazy
KOBE is TOP TEN....LeBron is NOT
Both are top 10. Arguably top 5
my unranked top 5
mj, kb, ai, td, and the guy who had a kidney transplant and come back to play nba
Who was that Reggie Lewis?
heres my list, mj and bron 1 and 2 in no order.
3. kareem
4 and 5 would have to be kobe or tim duncan.
but leaving magic out? its rough. magic if he didn’t get aids would might have been known as top 3 minimum.
Only MJ and Kareem are ahead of Kobe
Lebron is way ahead of Kobe stop meat riding
MJ n Kobe both top of the pyramid love old skool ball
lol at kobe being least efficient when bill russell, a center, for his career had only 44% fg..😂
yes
Plus, he had to beat the stacked Celtic one of those years. A super team. I also didn't hear anything about defense in the analysis. Love your channel though. It's top 5 no question!
Top 10 NBA Players Of All Time
1. Michael Jordan
2. LeBron James
3. Oscar Robertson
4. Bill Russell
5. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
6. Wilt Chamberlain
7. Tim Duncan
8. Hakeem Olajuwon
9. Jerry West
10. Larry Bird
I really love Kobe Bryant, but he's not in my All Time top 10
Very good list. No Magic?
@@nathanielmills4678 For Me, Magic is 11#
I have seen a lot of bad lists this is def one of the worst Magic and Kobe are top 10 period and you left off both but it’s different give you credit for that
@@nathanielmills4678 Thanks
kobe is top 5🤨
Overrated
what@@realbuckeye9716
if kobe didnt lose to the 08 celtics he would of 3 peated twice like michael jordan@@realbuckeye9716
His opening monologue ruled out LeBron. 😂😂😂 LeBron could only win a championship with at least 2 all stars on his team.
Who was the second one in LA?
@@SonnyK248covid 😂
Kobe didn't change the game he great...but he was second on his team dor three of the five. Mj and LBJ was never second on there teams.
Easy to pile up advanced stats when you have tons of help offensively from Pippen. Jordan never had the defensive load Kobe had
in my personal top 10 list i also take the consideration of how the player has affected my life or how inspiring he has been for me. kobe has been someone i've looked up to for years and that's one of my strongest reasons to keep him at 2nd in my top 10
He’s 15-13
Nice analysis, but some advanced stats without context are not worth a penny. E.g. comparing LBJ and Kobe with clutch shots in the finals in my opinion are pointless - Kobe on arguably half of his finals wasn't the best player on the team, so it was much easier to score for him. In the meantime, LeBron often did not have any help like in the ridiculous 2007 or 2018 finals...
And one more thing: it's easy to put Kobe in the top 10, the real struggle is who would land outside of it :)
Fingers crossed for upcoming videos, great content!
true. there’s so much more that goes into it than just stats, but they’re the closest thing to evaluating a player
It was easier for him to score because He wasn't the best player. What are you talking about?
Shaq dominated the finals but kobe led them there look at those stats
@@jesuscervantes2151 Shaq won all 3 FMVP which means he was the best player in those series.
@@michakisiel1635Yes, for that series but who was the best player in the Western conference that year? That was a more competitive a competitive series at that went 7 games, who led the comeback in game 7 when they were down 15 in the fourth quarter. Everybody knew who ever won that game was gonna win the championship
He’s number 2 by 4 sure!
Kobe is. He dominate way better than Lebron.
Did Shaq three-peat?
yeah w/kobe
Kobe is at 5 or 6
Wilt ain’t top 10 anymore
thank you
MJ, Wilt, Bird, Kareem, magic, Duncan, hakeem, Russell, kobe, Steph
What list is that 😂
Only for mobrons hahahah!
Not gonna watch the only reason why they put lbj over him is because he passed away an cant defend himself oin this an its easy to do so since he has past there is no game id rather have lbj over him no way kobe was a killer that was not scared of the 4th qt
Lebum had to switch teams to win thats pretty sad and cant play defense
because he copied MICHAEL JORDAN.... no photo copy can be great
If the Kobe 3 peat counts thn Shaq should be on on the list instead of Kobe. Kobe vs pacers
G1 14pts
G2 2pts
G4 8pts
Kobe wasn’t even Robin that first chip. Everyone just just needs to stop being delusional. He also prevented a 4peat vs Pistons cause he was in his feelings about Shaq. So please stop it. I’m a fan of Kobe but if we talking about 3 peat being the criteria of him being in the argument thn sorry to tell you but that was Shaqs 3 peat. Vs pacers Shaq could’ve won with Richard Jefferson in instead of him.
You're an idiot bro, but who led them to the finals? Game seven versus the trailblazers kobe led that team to the win They don't go to the finals that year. If it wasn't for that game, I told me it was always guarded by the best players in the western conference at that time
common man Kobe is a sidekick on that 3 peat and Kobe sucks in the finals no iconic momment
Kobe got sucks in the playoffs
