I understand your logic and agree. However, with the spate and randomness of mass shootings, I carry a gun everywhere, just to protect me and my family.
What if that place is your own home? Should people not go home if they think they need a gun to protect their home? Also, some people carry guns everywhere because you never know where/when you’re gonna need it. I don’t have a gun but I’ve had 3 very close calls that make me feel dumb for not getting one. All three involved me driving for Uber. 2 of the situations were people outside of my car, 1 was an actual passenger. 99% of the rides I wouldn’t need a gun, but there’s few rides that make me realize it’s better to have one than to not. You don’t want to be in a situation when someone pulls a gun on you or threatens to, and you don’t have one yourself.
What Vlad is saying about people tolerating less while carrying a gun is statistically false. Millions of concealed carry weapon holders in the United States and the overwhelming majority do not react this way. In fact it does the opposite. When you carry a firearm you typically show more restraint considering you now possess the ability to inflict lethal force upon somebody. @vladtv
