Sara, I love your new hat. I'm a hat person and wanted to tell you that last year I found a wide-rimmed hat with a hole just above the rim to pull your ponytail through. It's great to get my hair off my neck when hiking or gardening.

Gotta take Geology though....😱 Chris, have you ever looked into one of those cooling cloths? You wet it, shake it, and put it around your neck. To re-cool the cloth you just shake it in the air a couple of times. They are great. Not too expensive. The cloth is a Frog Togs Chillling Pad.👍 Oh, the hubbie and I are doing better. I saw a ENT, I might be having sinus surgery, 😱😱😱

Yall got to visit Little River Canyon south of Cloudland off of I-59 near Fort Payne, AL. "The Spot" is a great coffee/sandwich shop in Fort Payne. Also see Desoto Falls & drive through Mentone, AL.

Being born and raised in the Atlanta area, I know all to well the struggles of the humidity. Which why I love it here in the PNW now. I could absolutely feel the humidity watching y'all hike ... and it's only May.
Next time you're there try Canyon Grill right across the street from Lookout Mountain Pizza. Literally and without exaggeration, the best steak I have ever had. Warning though...it's not cheap, but worth every penny.

I've lived in chatt for 10ish years and I have yet to go to Cloudland. I need to remedy that quickly. Our favorite pizza place is NYPD in Hixson. I actually saw yall driving a few days ago and my husband was laughing at me for fangirling. Thanks for showing so many places to check out.

I love that place but I have never been down those 600 stairs. The two times I have hiked to the waterfalls I’ve started at the bottom of the mountain on a trail called Sitton’s Gulch. I can’t remember how long it is but I want to say 2.5 miles to the waterfalls. It’s really beautiful in the fall. One day I will have to try that lollipop trail at the top but I don’t think I ever want to do those stairs. My old knees hurt just thinking about it! The pizza restaurant looks really nice! I will have to take my family there sometime. And, like I said on Instagram, nice hat!

If you're looking for a longer day hike at Cloudland that includes a waterfall and a creek crossing then I'd say do the Bear Creek loop it's longer, about 7 miles but much less traveled and just as pretty in the fall. As far as other good pizza in the Nooga area Community Pie in downtown Chattanooga has some of the best Detroit style pizza I've ever had. Highly recommended!
Sittons gulch trail at the bottom is very nice as well...have u guys hiked to Sunset Rock, Zahn, and /or Rock Garden on Pigeon mtn...lots to see in that area, also Howard's waterfall is down in Trenton ...right off the side of the road...its a kewl cave...need a permit...my stomping grounds.

Great question! We've never tried one we haven't liked! That being said, lately we've been enjoying their Columbian coffee. Ian Goodman (the owner) recently went down to Columbia to meet with the farmers and learning more about their story has been really cool!

I agree best Pizza around if not ever. Not sure if Chris retired yet but I haven’t talked to him before COVID. I got married in May at CCSP and we went there afterwards. Yes Dade is so backwards I think when beer and liquor by the drink passed by an overwhelming majority it shocked the county Commision. I think they thought it would fail. They set the license fee so high that there was no way a restaurant only open on the weekend could even cover it.
There is also another pizza place like that with almost the same name, Look Out Winery and Pizza. But its not on Lookout Mtn, Its on Aetna Mtn overlooking the Tn river at Nickajack lake. (Haletown) Old style pizza oven, outside seating on the side of the mountain overlooking the water, and as the name suggests, you can drink there. You take Broad street (US41) west out of Chattanooga. It's about 20 miles from downtown. It is 0.7 of a mile before the big bridge over the river, so diver to the bridge, turn around and look the gravel road up the side of the mountain. There is a sign there. The best Cajun around is also right by that bridge on the same side of the river. If you are at the foot of that bridge,, look back in the direction of Chattanooga, you will see a church. But the sign reads Succotash. That's the place. Expect to spend $20 or more a person so your wallet will hate you, but it is so worth it. It's now our "go to" place after a day on the water.
I went a few years back get to the waterfall this lady ask why they turned the water off. Well maybe because we have been in a drought that has not rained in 3 months.
My daughter and her fiancé are taking me there when I come up in Oct how many miles is the walk And do you think someone in there 60s would have any problems

(Haletown) Old style pizza oven, outside seating on the side of the mountain overlooking the water, and as the name suggests, you can drink there. You take Broad street (US41) west out of Chattanooga. It's about 20 miles from downtown. It is 0.7 of a mile before the big bridge over the river, so diver to the bridge, turn around and look the gravel road up the side of the mountain. There is a sign there.
The best Cajun around is also right by that bridge on the same side of the river. If you are at the foot of that bridge,, look back in the direction of Chattanooga, you will see a church. But the sign reads Succotash. That's the place. Expect to spend $20 or more a person so your wallet will hate you, but it is so worth it. It's now our "go to" place after a day on the water.
