Also do you have a good sunscreen recommendation for oily skin? Thank you so much and I hope you read my comment 💛
Hello jonathan, Personally, I feel that The Ordinary retinol is not the best for acne-prone skin; the formulation is too heavy and does not absorb well into the skin, which may lead to new breakouts, especially if you have oily acne-prone skin. I feel that a gel(Adapalene, Differin) or light lotion (Paula's Choice 0,3% Retinol +2% Bakuchiol) works much better and gives me better results. Whenever I use heavier formulations, I feel that I break out more. And sunscreen for oily skin = COSRX Aloe Soothing sunscreen or CeraVe Ultra-Light AM lotion. If you have a larger budget, Paula's Choice also has excellent options.

Hey Melissa! What a nice video❤️ Do you have any idea about benzoyl peroxide and Tretenoin? I am planning to use it to add in my skincare routine. And I'm nervous about it because there's a saying that it can Purge the skin. If you have. Knowledge about it. It is a good choice to take risk? Cause i have acne prone skin and really don't know what products can clear my acne or pimples in my face i hope you can help me Melissa ☺️
And in addition i want to ask if Benzoyl peroxide is enough to clear my acne on face? But i have mild acne but my problem is that my acne is going back like it goes back on my face like for example in two days may face is cleared a little bit from acne then tomorrow i have acne or pimples. But I don't use active ingredient for pimples like benzoyl peroxide, Tretenoin, or even bha or salicylic acid. Would you recommend me this products for my problem or maybe you have suggestions or other products recommendations. Cause i really wanted to achieve clear skin. I hope you can help me Melissa 😅 Thank you so much in advance 🙏❤️
Hey! So far, a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser seemed to work best for me. It helps to get 'rid of' active acne fairly quickly. I haven't used Tretinoin; I use Differin Gel (Adapalene). I recommend trying this: AM: - 4% or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser - (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum - SPF PM: - Gentle Cleanser (Suitable for your skin type) - (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum - Adapalene - (Optional) Moisturizer or PM: - Gentle Cleanser (Suitable for your skin type) - (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum - (Optional) Moisturizer - Wait 15min. - Tretinoin This routine can help you reduce your acne and that your acne becomes less. However, those are just treatments! It's not a cure, so your acne can come back. You need to figure out what's causing your acne so that you can change it and 'cure' your acne. This can be related to stress, hormones, skincare, food, etc...
Hey if i wanna use hyauloranic acid and aloea gel that already has humectants such as glycerin and sodium hyaluronate in the same routine. Which one goes first? Should i follow the intensity rule lighter to heavier?
Hello, Melissa! I'm so sorry for bothering you about my skincare routine again, but I need your help/opinion about a product. I got as a birthday present a cleanser from Vichy(Normaderm Phytosolution- it's in a green bottle). The thing is I read that it's for oily skin and it's with Salicylic acid. I wanted to ask you if I can use it in my morning routine because I've ran out of my The ordinary cleanser. Also, I wanted to say a HUGEEEE THANK YOUUUUU for recommending me Neutrogena Hidro Boost as moisturizer, I stopped getting those sebum bumps and my face is so clean now, TYYYY. Back to what I was talking about earlier. This is my whole skincare routine(AM and PM). My AM routine is: The ordinary cleanser, Thermal water from a brand that is known in my country(Synergy Therm). PM: I'm using micellar water from Cerave (because I'm wearing make-up as a daily basis, but it's light, I'm focused more on my eyes rather than my actual face, I'm using only concealer), Cerave foaming cleanser for normal to oily skin. After that I'm waiting a few minutes and after that I'm applying the ordinary glycolic acid 7% Toning solution and the ordinary caffeine solution(I have problems with puffy eyes and dark circles) and I'm waiting another 5 minutes or more until my skin absorbs everything. After that I apply the ordinary niacinamide 10%+ Zinc 1% and Neutrogena Hidro Boost as a moisturizer. I'm using the ordinary AHA 30%+ BHA 2% peeling solution once a week and after that I'm applying the Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer. My thoughts are that I should get rid of the glycolic acid in order for me to use this cleanser. But please tell me your thoughts about it! Thank you so much for taking your time and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hey! :) Yes, you can use Vichy's Cleanser in the AM. You do not need to get rid of your Glycolic Acid since you are using that one in the evening along with a gentle cleanser. I'm happy to hear that you enjoy your current routine (and moisturiser!) :) Overall your routine looks great! :)

And sunscreen for oily skin = COSRX Aloe Soothing sunscreen or CeraVe Ultra-Light AM lotion. If you have a larger budget, Paula's Choice also has excellent options.

@@jonathanandino1686 Retinol not, but retinal. Geek and Gorgeous 0,05% Retinal (ua-cam.com/video/nGxBxp3av-Y/v-deo.html) has a great formulation that quickly absorbs into the skin. But it's not available in many areas. But Differin (ua-cam.com/video/rvdtBmdXFMc/v-deo.html) is broadly available.
I'm gonna buy this.. As I'm Asian will it help me to be detanned?
No, this gel helps to moisturize and soothe the skin. After a sunburn, it can be used to nourish damaged skin and provide the essential ingredients it needs to heal quicker.
Hey Melissa! What a nice video❤️
Do you have any idea about benzoyl peroxide and Tretenoin?
I hope you can help me Melissa 😅
Thank you so much in advance 🙏❤️
Hey!
So far, a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser seemed to work best for me. It helps to get 'rid of' active acne fairly quickly.
I haven't used Tretinoin; I use Differin Gel (Adapalene).
I recommend trying this:
AM:
- 4% or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
- (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum
- SPF
PM:
- Gentle Cleanser (Suitable for your skin type)
- (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum
- Adapalene
- (Optional) Moisturizer
or
PM:
- Gentle Cleanser (Suitable for your skin type)
- (Optional) Hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum
- (Optional) Moisturizer
- Wait 15min.
- Tretinoin
This routine can help you reduce your acne and that your acne becomes less. However, those are just treatments! It's not a cure, so your acne can come back.
You need to figure out what's causing your acne so that you can change it and 'cure' your acne. This can be related to stress, hormones, skincare, food, etc...
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much for response Melissa ❤️❤️

Hey if i wanna use hyauloranic acid and aloea gel that already has humectants such as glycerin and sodium hyaluronate in the same routine. Which one goes first? Should i follow the intensity rule lighter to heavier?
It is tough to tell; I suggest you test it to see what layers better.
Hey! :)
Yes, you can use Vichy's Cleanser in the AM. You do not need to get rid of your Glycolic Acid since you are using that one in the evening along with a gentle cleanser.
I'm happy to hear that you enjoy your current routine (and moisturiser!) :)
Overall your routine looks great! :)

Hi Melissa! Is aloe vera gel okay to use with retinol cream? I’m currently using Good Molecule’s retinol.. can I use aloe vera gel after the retinol?
Thank you! 🧡
Hey again! :)
What Aloe Vera Gel do you want to use?
Because if it's a 'real' gel, it's best to use it before applying GM Retinol cream :)
