Navi's smirk at the early parts are just too good. But then I made the realisation that Navi's reactions would now be most interesting to me because you can see her start to realize the differences between both series. Loved seeing her confused.
To clarify, it's not the the sword can cut trough Greed's shield, in fact he never does that. If you look closely he is cutting his skin faster than he could cover it.
Yeah, Wrath only mentioned that he DIDN'T have the Ultimate Spear, which is Lust's power.
Yeah, and I guess when they asked why he didn't cover up his entire body, one way to look at it is that he was constantly being sliced up in different spots so he had to drop his shields to regenerate his body.
Raidanzoup yea ed said he cant regen his shield and heal at the same time.
Precisely - Wrath/Bradley is using ordinary swords, nothing special about them, but his insane speed means that Greed isn't healing fast enough to even USE his Ultimate Shield to its full potential; if he could, he wouldn't necessarily WIN but it would be a less one-sided match-up at least. And to think, Wrath isn't even in his PRIME anymore due to growing older; I can scarce imagine what a MONSTER he must have been as a younger man on the battlefield...
Borjan Kosarac I remember hearing somewhere that the author of the manga was once asked how powerful Bradley in his prime would be. To which she replied something like. No one that goes up against him in this show would have stood a chance of winning.
The real Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood starts here.
Aye!!!
@Devil you obviously know what he's talking about, quit trying to look like a smartass
Slicing Greed up a dozen times _is_ killing him. Bradley just meant how many times does it take before he stops coming back to life. Or healing, rather. And Greed can't put up his Ultimate Shield and heal at the same time. Bradley is just attacking way too fast for him to keep up with.
The Transition was great.
Antiquity please do more of that! 😁
I agree
it was hilarious lmao
Ahaha I laughed pretty hard when I saw it
Nice touch with the commercial transitions
I started cracking up when I saw your homage to the Fullmetal alchemist commercial transitions
Ed said in the previous episode that Greed can't harden and heal at the same time.
Lots of plot twists!
Also, nice transitions btw! I was not expecting it :)
Although it is subtle, all seven Homunculi actually appear in this episode, (even Pride, but you just don't know who he is yet) which is the first and only time they are all seen in one episode.
But Pride is right there, stabbing Greed over and over again. We know exactly who he is!
That's only in the original Bradley is wraith in brotherhood
It was at this time, when Navi realized things were changing up, and we can get really excited for they have no idea what's in store for them...
greed couldn't turn into his final form, because he can't harden and regenerate at the same time.
Oh shit I’ve never put two and two together.
who the fuck ever said that it wasn't obvious, i was just pointing out what the normies forgot.
he would have survived if he had gone full armor in an instant
Also turning on his armor is a bit slow to activate... And even gets delayed even more by healing... So yeah... He can't turn full armor if he has a cut...
For the record, Brotherhood is the REAL story. The other FMA got ahead of the anime so the producers made up most of the story. If I remember correctly from this point on, Brotherhood and FMA are very very different
It will be fun to see Navi react now since from this point on the first anime and Brotherhood totally divert from each other. She is going to be just as blind as the rest now because the stories are completely different. Even the major plot points are different and whole lot of new main characters are about to be introduced.
*sigh* Poor little selim. So blissfully unaware.
Jose Bueno talk about a summer child 🤧 the homunculi are such manipulators
Sweet, innocent, naive Selim. I'll mourn the day should he ever discover all the horror behind the scenes....Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I'm sure he'd just be devastated....
love how we all just Know lmao
"Fullmetal Alchemist... *BUTTERHOOD"* 😋
Who else is watching Navi react to the differences of his and the old anime? Like the Fuhrer not being Pride, Sloth not being a copy of you-know-who, Dante not being a thing at all
Although the original character model for Dante (when she's first introduced as an old woman) is actually given a brief appearance, near the end of the series. Some people might say it's a coincidence, but I doubt it.
Damn, I forgot how many revelations we had in this episode! God i miss this show. I wish i can erase my memories so I can watch it for the first time again lol
Can't wait for episode 19...
Navi everything regarding the homunculus is entirely different in the old show.
They caught up to the manga way too soon and just went ahead with an entirely original plot of their own, so other than a few characters that have a similar backstory and names and designs, it's like 03 and FMAB are two entirely separate shows.
Mordirit I wouldn't tell her, it makes the whole thing better if she doesn't have any issues with her perception of what's going to happen. If she believes it and makes the others believe it too, wont their reactions to the plot twists be a lot better?
I think when reacting to something, believing that you KNOW whats comming is a lot better than knowing nothing. That way you dont question the story so much and don't pick up on hints that point in different directions so easily. So basicaly shes working really hard to make everyone (and herself) be more shocked about upcoming reveals.
So this was the day Edward, Alphonse & Izumi was marked as Human sacrifices. Still love Bradly as a character thou
Kajsa Svensson technically this is the day Al and Izumi are officially marked, Envy and Lust marked Ed as a Sacrifice back at the Fifth Laboratory
Agreed - as a person I would despise Bradley, but as a CHARACTER he's f**king phenomenal and easily in my Top 10 for FMA (if not Top 5, though I'm unsure of that). And as a villain? No contest, there.
@@dannybob42 He was probably already marked at his entrence exam. after all he showed that he didnt need a transmutation circle
shit, that's the first time Marketta predicted something right!! i'm unironically impressed.
That moment when FMA-only watchers realize this is brotherhood 😂
11:37
I loved the Normy commercial transitions. Please include them in future reactions!
Perfect reaction guys. Navi is now completely blind as well. I love Wednesdays!
Eye spy with my ultimate eye, something beginning with W
Her name is Izumi
In the manga, Bradley is in the south for Ed’s assessment day.
W is for Whoa, Bradley has skill
W for well, Armstrong didn’t take long to win everyone over ;)
W for WTF, he’s one of them~ Bradley just hit god tier.
Homunculi is plural, singular is Homunculus.
W for Wasted, Martel’s death is brutal. The 03 anime extends Martel’s living time by having her buddy with the Elrics and prolonging the eye reveal
W for Win, those FMA style cuts was a win
The blood pours and Al remembers, but his knowledge isn’t anything to help them.
W for Wily, Bradley knows, but he’s got them in his hand
W for Woe, since Ed and Al didn’t know about Hughes
W for Wrath, the Fuhrious, also a Sloth cameo. In 03 he is Pride, but Pride has another face.
And W for Wild, for Father looks oddly familiar and literally drinks Greed after melting him down.
Not what you expected huh Navi?
It’s not way too quick, you don’t know what’s coming anymore.
His ultimate eye sees weak points, and minor precognition, his speed is part of his physiology. The ageing is a new factor.
Yes, a lot of people miss that the sacrifices are picked because they saw the portal, it is worth remembering it.
There’d be no fusion, the blood seal actually binds the soul between the blood and the armour’s iron.
Yeah don’t even consider the 03 series anymore, it is different from here, there is no Dante.
The Homunculi are kinda siblings, Father said that they were a part of his soul
A final W for Watch! Watch morrrrrre! We’re entering Part 2 now; new opening, new characters and thus a new shuffle to choreograph
Bradley's left eye is the ultimate eye it grants him great wisdom and focus similar to how odin gained a great site when he sacrificed one eye
I wish if these were 2 episodes weekly really like your reaction
Bradley's voice is so chilling
THAT TRANSITION WAS EVERYTHING. I knew you would fulfill me. 💙💙💙 Please continue. Also everything being said about Navi is 100% accurate and it highlarious to watch. 😂👍🏾
The last speech of Greed ALWAYS gives me the chills.
Lol the thumbnail os great, i especially love navi's face xD She has that "i was waiting for this moment" look
I'm loving their reaction to FULL METAL ALCHEMISTS
Navi, you officially have no idea what's going on anymore. lol You're correct that it's a completely different plan and story from this point out.
I'm really glad the dub mentioned Wrath's warning about executing Ed and Al, which is missed out in the sub. Great reaction guys!
first FMA cought up with the manga really soon and then took a different direction, when FMAB follows the manga to the end
Bradley has normal swords. It looks like he cut through Greed's shield but he cuts ahead of it, higher up the arm.
For those who watched the first anime.Everything going to be new as from the next episode..
Wrath is fast af boiiiii
Love the tees Marketa and Navi you guys always look great. nice reaction guys!
LMFAO I wasn't expecting that transition you guys threw in there! XD That was funny yet fitting. I love watching a good fma transition thrown into a vid
OH MY GOD YOU GUYS! I spit my water on that "Normies react to fullmetal alchemist". You guys are just the best
The part where Bradley "read" the kids wasn't anything particularly special. He called Ed an honest kid because his face/reaction to the leading question could be read like a book. I always understood the blood splashing on Al's seal as an "intense trauma (someone helplessly, needlessly, dying inside of you, a bodyless child)" triggering his lost memories (that he lost due to trauma in the first place?). Lots of good reactions in this episode, guys! The ride is wild and not ending any time soon.
Omg those cuts for the show to pause….. magnificent
Here we go!!! This is where the series picks up!!!
This episode on is where this series starts to differ from the original FMA and follow the original manga.
Dang I know I've said this but Marketa really is asking the right questions. Real good questions
Dammit that cutaway got me xD
lol Navi amug smile during the reveal in this episode lol
Bradley is their leader, and as such he has to sign off on any new state alchemist coming aboard. Remember when Ed got his certification letter and his title?
And considering human transmutation is illegal (for good reason), Bradley is in the perfect position to find people who've seen The Truth.
Yo that transition was legit one of the most creative things and I am HERE for it lol
No one ever expected that Fuhrer King Bradley was secretly an Uchiha all along!!
DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!
3:55 watching Navi's reaction to everyone else's surprise? Priceless.
Fma brotherhood is nothing like fma. The story diverges into something else gradually.
And personally this is waaaaaaaay better than the FMA. I think it's high Time to stop comparing these two and enjoy the current one and get your mind blown.
Navi, the original fma wasn't the true story. They made up a lot of it because the manga was nowhere near being complete XD Brotherhood is how everything is meant to go! :)
About the fuck time! Nah j/k this was uploaded in a timely manner I'm just impatient🙄
TheBoldenb damn 1 month ago..
Navi already leading them to believe that there are only one father. Nice... It will be pleasure to see their surprise face in the future.
kharil hasan i have noticed that some of them read comments. Best not to spoil them buddy
kharil hasan she doesn't know there's two. In the original it was him and... lyra? I can't remember her name
MsKennykins technically Dante, but she stole Lyra’s body
Navi, everything from here on in is following the manga source material.
FMA 2003 is not canon.
Loved how Greed went out, like a BOSS!
Yes from this point on they diverge from FMA.
The transition was pure gold.
After this episode FMAB will go towards a complete different direction thn the 2003 anime!
The eye reveal is definitely the highlight of this episode for me.
*heartbeat noises*
*SHHHHIIIING*
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!!
1:22 King Bradley and Major Armstrong look like they're about to
drop the hottest mix tape of the year.
Somebody already said this kind of, but Greed was focusing on healing instead of regenerating his shield.
LOL those pauses though, you have my respect for eternity because of that.
One of the key differences in the two versions of the show is the homunculi. In the original FMA the homunculi were created when an alchemist tried to do human transmutation. Wrath in that version was actually the child of Ed and Al's teacher Izumi and had Ed's arm and leg. Another homunculus, Sloth, takes the form of Ed and Al's mother and was created by their attempt to bring her back. Obviously in FMA: Brotherhood and the original manga this is far different as in this episode it is revealed Wrath is Bradley and you saw a glimpse of Sloth who was clearly not a women. (Bradley is revealed very late on in the original FMA anime to be the homunculus Pride.)
From this day forward things will just get better 😈
Can't be the only one to feel this way so I'm just gonna go out there and say it: I'm glad Navi is blind from now on throughout the series for... reasons. =P
Watching Navi is the closest I'll ever get to see how I first reacted to it. We think we're OK until Bradley says his name and then we're in the dark again.
Ling is next! Story divergence! ARE YOU READY NAVI? Because your reactions to Wrath were great.
"Holy shit" moments.
1. 3:39 Reveal of Wrath
2. 6:39 Martel attacks (or "Navi gets to wtf with the rest, now") closely followed by a 6:48 blood seal and 7:30 "it was HIM?!"
3. 10:22 Father
4. 12:10 "holy shit this guy has a family?"
This is refreshing seeing that none of you can predict where this is going from here lol. Bradley was Pride in the original FMA
I hope they know that Brotherhood presents the real story that was developed in the source material (the Fullmetal Alchemist manga), while the Fullmetal Alchemist anime that Navi saw before only is true to the source material up to the first episodes. The anime that Navi saw had to come up with an original story when the anime episodes caught up to the manga chapter releases and subsequently didn't have the source material to produce the actual story the creator of the manga wanted to portray. Brotherhood did not have this problem because it was released years after the manga was fully published and finished.
Damn. It was just a Hologram...MY FAVORITE OP of FMA!
can we have 2 episodes per week? that would be great, and I am pretty sure it will drive a bigger audience
The anime doesn’t explain it as well, but the manga Bradley/Wrath was cutting Greed before he could finish covering his body in armor. In order for Greed to regenerate the damage he couldn’t use his armor. Like Ed said last episode Greed cannot heal and use his ultimate shield at the same time he has to choose one. Whenever Greed heals himself he can’t use his armor.
The Anime does explain it well. They just didn't remember from the last episode. Ed clearly stated he can't regenerate and harden at the same time.
3:54 the way the black hair girl turning around to see everyone's reactions is so cute
8:30 u dont need an eye to read that, first he mentioned whether they traded information but they had no reaction and said no, then he mentioned their bodies and their whole faces lit up and they went silent, its very subtle though so yeah
Please make more of those commercial break screens! Perfect! Oh and Marketa, you're a champ
This is the moment fullmetal alchemist (original series) and brotherhood change paths
"Holy shit this dude has a family ?"
*inhales*
I wished Navi would stop comparing Brotherhood from the original FMA. This series is how the manga was told. This is how the author envisioned the story.
I believe the 2003 run's story was under supervision of the author at all times as well. studios in japan usually respect author of the original work and consider their opinions first if the show ran out of materials, unless the author couldn't careless.
The 2003 series handle some of its characters better. Like the snake girl in this episode. In the 03 series, they gave you time to get to know her and how she effected past events before she’s killed.
hazel chu Actually, series creator, Hiromu Arakawa personally insisted that the show writers took a story detour. At the time the 2003 anime was airing, she still had a LOOONNNGG WAY to go before she was anywhere near finished with the manga.
Andre Ferreras if you wanna get the story Arakawa wanted to tell, you have to read the manga, cause Brotherhood is far from a perfect adaptation
I just wish she would stop because it derails conversations. She has to make some type of reference to the fact that she watched the 2003 version every episode they review.
9:51 I love Navi's confused reaction about Sloth 😄 yeah, since I watched the 2003 version first, it was exactly my reaction too.
It's great how Wrath is just so OP that everyone starts reading too much into his ability although the Ultimate Eye is probably the weakest ability of the bunch.
I can't wait for Navi to realize why this is FMABrotherhood...
New opening next week ayy
My least favorite opening out of the 5 honestly
Step B. SW223000 same here
my favorite honestly
*+Step B. SW223000* My least favorite is OP 3, but OP is a close second
Loved that transition card lol
Hope she knows that brotherhood is the one that follows the comics and the who store arc. First anime follows one storyline (not the whole thing) and changed things.
6:30 THAT IS GOLD!
Love the new mid episode transition lawlz
Finally everything is gonna change for things
AHAHAHAHAHAAH! Oh shit, the break/transition in the middle, that was great!
Right now on patreon, already episode 18.
This is probably my favorite episode.
You should print out a map of Amestris. It's a fantasy story, you gotta get that map, B.
I'M CRYING AT YOUR INTERLUDES
My boy Ling coming up next episode!
The look Navi gave like she knows who father is because of FMA. LOL
4:08
Wrath: "How many times am I going to have to kill you before you stay dead?"
Alphonse: "I don't know, it's too dark to see in here"
Thought that cut was funny
As Ed discovered he can't heal and harden at the same time...
