I recorded this song 1982 from the radio with a cassette recorder, I didn't know the name of the song or the artist. For years I tried to find out what the song was. When the internet came, I tried to find it there. I did not find. 20 years later I went to a record store with a worn-out cassette and asked if anyone recognized it. One employee recognized Holger Czukay and I immediately ordered a CD. This is such mysterious and magical music.
I had a similar experience. I use to listen to a Georgetown University college radio station WGTB. One morning I woke up extremely hungover from the night before. A song was playing on the radio. I laid there amazed at what I was hearing. The DJ would play about four songs, then tell the titles and artists of the previous songs, so I had to listen to a couple more songs to find out who and what this was. All I could remember was "Movies". I mistakenly thought that was the title of the song. This was 1982 or 1983. It wasn't until about ten years ago when I finally discovered that what I heard that morning was Hollywood Symphony.
When the music is over in some way, I return to this mysterious and magical music. So sensitive and gripping at the same time. After 30-40 years it still gives me the same feelings.
Pure genius. Incredibly rich in sound, texture and creativity. Like perfume it lingers on: dramatic, sweet, sometimes irritating and beautiful at the same time.
found this on the walk back home last night from work and the cars driving past me must have thought i was on drugs the amount of faces i was pulling - absolutely BLEW me away, the bit at 7:06 and 9:09 made me want to vomit it was so good
Agreed. Even if a UA-camr is a very 'small player', they should get some control over these ads. I deleted lots of my longer tracks from my channel because of this, I couldn't accept listeners having their kind listen disrupted by some crap advert!!!

Got it on vinyl yet? And its companion album, 'Movies'? Still my favourites of his albums.
Wow! A really magical story. Awesome.

Fast unerträglich wundervoll!
I was fortunate to have gotten to know Holger and he sent me several samples which I worked with. We ended up doing some bits together. I miss him.

r.i.p :/
To UA-cam. I hardly disapprove with these advertisers in midst of the song. I will boycott UA-cam in the future if this doesn't stop.
