Not sure what you mean by "more relevant". Kenny had a huge career in the late 70's and 80's, even bigger than he had with Loggins & Messina. He had all those hits from the movies like Footloose, Top Gun, Caddy Shack, Caddy Shack II, etc. and that was in addition to his individual hits like Forever, Heart to Heart, Don't Fight It (with Steve Perry), and so on.

Michael McDonald has always been an Amazing back up singer, doing hits w Chris Cross, Loggins and others over the years! Finally got his due when he saved the Doobies by replacing their lead singer BC of illness. Their first album w him was a Huge success! Now he's a Big star in his own right! What a talent and what a voice! Love the Guy!👍❤🎤🎸

From the first time when I was 10, till the most recent, which was today at age 52, this song still gives me chills every time that I listen to it. The storyline and emotion in Kenny's voice are so gripping. This has always been my favorite Kenny Loggins song and honestly, one of my overall faves of all time!
I am thrilled to see that my beloved Kenny will be coming to Florida for one stop in Clearwater, which thank you, Lord, is doable from where I live. So God willing...I will be there!

It's funny to read the comments of those that have heard this song on "yachtrock" radio or the grocery store....I grew up with this music and am grateful that we had to actually wait for the local station to play it to "capture the moment". The 60's, 70's and 80's are times that will never be repeated. If they are still playing music from the current era thirty years from now, come talk to me.

I played Alto Sax in School, and now my Daughter is studying Muisc in College, and toots away on her Tenor sax. RIP You were GREAT, and will be missed! I’m off to mourn now. 😢 Peace to All.

    You ain't crazy
    I ain't gonna lie anymore
    What you're feelin'
    There's a reason for
    I wanna do right
    Oh, gotta do right
    Do I love you?
    Oh, you know I've tried
    But what you're after
You can't find in my eyes
    I'm gonna do right
    Darlin'
    Tell the truth
    Don't turn away
    This is our last chance
    To touch each other's heart
    Does anything last forever?
    I don't know
    Maybe we're near the end
    (So, darlin', tell me)
    So, darlin', oh
How can we go on together
    Now that we've grown apart
Well, the only way to start
    Is heart to heart
    One by one
    We're collecting lies
    When you can't give love
    You give alibis
    Now I'm gonna do right
This time I got to do right
    I don't wanna leave
    I don't wanna say goodbye
    Sooner or later, honey
    There comes a time
Mama, when you gotta do right
    Come on, come on
    Darlin'
    Tell the truth
    Don't turn away
    From this one last chance
    Touch each other's heart
    Does anything last forever?
    I don't know
    Maybe we're near the end
    (So, darlin', tell me)
    So, darlin', oh
How can we go on together
    Now that we've grown apart
Well, the only way to start
    Is heart to heart
Why are you so torn apart?
I need a little more loving in my heart
People say that love will grow
So how was I to know
Love that's come through years and years
Can't find a way back home
    Anymore
    Darlin'
    Tell me the truth
    Don't turn away
    This is our final chance
    To touch each other's heart
    Does anything last forever?
    I don't know
    Maybe we're near the end
    (So, darlin', tell me)
    So, darlin', oh
How can we go on together

    Is heart to heart
    Does anything last forever?

    So, darlin', oh
How can we go on together
    Now that we've grown apart
Well, the only way to start
    Is heart to heart
    I know
Well, the only way to start
This time is heart to heart
