Great comparison. I just got the Milwaukee M18 and love it. Polishing cordless has been a game changer for me. I was looking at the flex 3 inch when Rupes came out with there’s and I’m glad I waited. I’ll have to pick up the Rupes 3 inch next.
I’m with you on the packaging. I know it’s just a box but it would have been nice to have a little more quality and thought put into it. I haven’t had a chance to use it so I’m looking forward to it.
i love the HLR75, but im also interested in checking out a mirka 3". I have the flex attachments but i haven't used them yet. If they arent great, ill likely sell the flex.
The battery thing is definitely annoying. Personally even if Rupes' new 5inch is better than the Milwaukee, I'd still stick with the Milwaukee for the fact I don't need more batteries. Hopefully they make a good 3inch someday.
Requires an adapter, I don’t have it. My nano has the 120v adapter and I’ve never used it. I really can’t see the reason to have it unless you’re annoyed with swapping batteries. Historically the batteries last longer than it takes to charge them so 2 batteries and you’re good to go.
After buying the rupes HLR75 and using it to do a whole car, i sold the Flex PXE80 on ebay. I like the Rupes way better as a 3" and i have the rupes nano 1". the LHR is corded, i haven't used a corded polisher in a few years at this point.
@@dillon599 I don’t know but it looks like you can get it separately. www.rupes.com/news/hlr75-new-control-lever/ I just turn it to zero when I’m done and it’s been fine for me
@improvedgarage yea I seen it on rupes but can't find them online for the United States lol but yea I'm gonna get it all I do is sand and buff at a dealership so guess I'm gonna get it I'm gonna order it sometime this week but do you think the lake country ccs pads would be good for it I have a bunch
the lake country pads should work just fine. Ive been using Meguiars, and Koch Chemie pads on mine, anything with a velcro backing should work great.@@dillon599
I disagree. The flex was a pretty poor nano and I sold it. The head is too big for anything less than a 3” and it doesn’t have enough power to be a good 3”. If you just want one polisher to do it all, the flex is “ok” otherwise the nano is a better 1-2” and the rupes is a better 3”. The mirka is better than the rupes in my experience but it’s a diminishing return, the hlr75 is a good polisher and a great 3” for most people.
@@improvedgarage ??? Tight spots w/2" pad use rotary extensions from APS with Flex and bigger spots use Rupes with 3"!!! I love my Flex with smaller 2" pads on 12mm DA, so to each is their own! Still loved your video!!!!!
@@77rommel you bring up a good point. I use the APS extensions on my Rupes and really like them, they would make a big difference on the Flex, i didnt have them until after it was gone.. I didnt "hate" the flex, and it didnt give me any issues, but once i bought the nano i stopped using it for anything other than a 3 ", and once i used this HLR75 i stopped using the flex altogether. Its not exactly a fair comparison, the nano and HLR are collectively almost $1000, the flex is $400 and can get the job done. Im glad you like the videos, thank you for taking the time to watch and to comment, i try to read and respond to every one.

I'm interested in a 3in. polisher so I'll be watching for your long term review.....
After using both, whats your long term views, have you tried the APS attachments / extensions for the flex ? Cheers

I would only switch if it used the same 18v as the 3 inch since I already have those now.
An m12 3” would be great!
The rupes is supposed to be able to run via electrical cord too.
It will, they just don't have it available yet for 120v.

When about the flex pxe80 or the rupes lhr75e?

Wait it's not Tuesday...
Too many unreleased videos.
But yea this should have been a new tool Tuesday.
Flex PXE is a your 2" battery polisher, Rupes HLR75 is your 3" battery polisher, period......
