To reset the system timer press the down cursor key from the main screen. Then when that is blinking press the dial until it resets. Many modelers use this timer to keep track of how long the radio has been on since last charge.
Robin I'm 75 and trying to find out how to find my NAZA model which I think is on this radio. How do I do this? I selected no 8 which says octocopter but nothing else seems to happen.
Jimmie Harris Hi Jim. in this video, at 3:46 it shows how to use the dial to select which model you want to use. I hope my answer helps? You still fly at 74, much respect sir.
Jimmie Harris also after press and hold the dial for a second to confirm that model choice, it should ask you on the screen and you need to press the dial again, then press the end/close button.
hello , I have the 7cap and I have wnet through all of the functions here described and I cant get this thing to function a simple 4ch model. all i have is rudder. can you go into detail for me. I have 7-berg reciever.
it is really amazing. buuut with all our touch screens and voice activated, its not hard to see this will seem so obsolete in the near future. what i dont like very well is how rapidly 2.4 is taking over. i like the fm/ppm/pcm better. i hope we will still manufacture frequency modulate.
Thanks for the compliment ;-) the orig video was made by rcuniverse, i just added music and edited it a bit so it was thighter. Took me weeks to find such a useful vid so i thought it should be shared ;-)
Thanks for the very informative menu. I just wish it didn't have the irritating music in the background. It's very distracting. At least the volume could have been a lot lower.
nothing about assigning functions to channels? i just hate having to read the manual all over again just to see how to assign each aileron on separate channels (one servo each...)
You'd better search that on RCUniverse, i dont want to give incorrect advice as it could cost you alot if im wrong....... i used to know this but it's been a while soooooooooooo, check rcuniverse forum, you'll find it easy there, sorry i couldnt be more help ;-)
lol, honestly i dont remember, was done along time ago, and i did'nt film the origional so i dont know if it was done on tape or digi........sorry mate.
Thanks for this post - I had COMPLETELY forgotten how to even begin over the years. That said (please feel free to laugh), I do not understand HOW you arrived AT the menus in the sections laid out here. For example, after showing the main display in the first part, how on Earth did you arrive at the display that says TIMER? ... Ditto, all the other sections. I do admit I find this radio to be the most unintuitive poorly labeled device I've ever touched - and I fly real airplanes (Yipes - scary, huh?!). Another big example is that the buttons on the right have up/down AND right/left indicators (well, which is it). Also, sometimes, it appears you need to push in QUICKLY on the thumbwheel, and sometimes you need to push and HOLD for some time. The owner's manual is useless in explaining the navigation of these menus - to me anyway. There is a large chart, but not too helpful showing HOW navigation is performed. In Futaba's defense, I'm guessing they assume the radio is an upgrade for the new owner who already knows a bunch about their menu navigation. In any case, sorry for the dumb rant and THANKS SO MUCH for posting this so long ago! A great start - I'll muddle through now at least, thanks to your video.
@robinphillips thanks. i may be only 15 but i can find a great deal. its for my dad. he got me into the hobby and i want to pay him back. im either getting him his own airplane or i will give him my avistar because i have my u can do 46. but i want to get him his own plane because my avistar is fun to fly as well.

When you select model 8, to confirm that choice you must press and HOLD the dial down for a second, not just tap the dial.
Jimmie Harris also after press and hold the dial for a second to confirm that model choice, it should ask you on the screen and you need to press the dial again, then press the end/close button.

Yes you can, it works both ways, just change the settings as needed in the menu screen....
Thanks for the info, i always get them mixed up... One type uses a big plastic module instead of a little chrystal in the transmitter i think also.
The pcm have less interfearence on it . and its the main difference, ppm is also known as FM mode.
it is really amazing.
buuut

Thx, yes the music is annoying, YT forced a change , maybe I'll remake this ;)
I have no idea, honestly, i think one is supposed to be better than the other in therms of less interfererence, i think, but i forget which one.
@robinphillips well you cant have it. you need to look on ebay for a few hours
crazyryan.............yes, i would prefer to use the 7, but that depends on your budgeting ;-)

Hi what format did you use to up load this vid, as you cant see my radio as clear as this ?
You'd better search that on RCUniverse, i dont want to give incorrect advice as it could cost you alot if im wrong....... i used to know this but it's been a while soooooooooooo, check rcuniverse forum, you'll find it easy there, sorry i couldnt be more help ;-)
i just won one of these in an auction! in only paid 59.60 for it!
ha this thing is cool
I`ve never heard of the failsafe, i`d just follow the manual normally ;-)

Timing stuff i guess, battery life - flight times etc etc ;-)
