I know this is Queen and 4 members but you just can’t take your eyes off Freddie, what a legend he’s just out of this world, those fans so lucky to have been there too and to be up close and actually touch his hand which is quite rare in Queen concerts. I so wish they would bring Freddie back in 3D for a concert, he would sell out! Be soo good for fans like me who never got to see him live. It's unbelievable how Freddie hated playback - he showed it in every single ocasion - as in San Remo ot Montreux performances. It was completely intentional and so obvious. Just amazing!

This vocal improvisation with the crowd has to be one, if not the best ever. Yes, usually they were longer and featured more improvised licks, but the strong C5 and Bb4s and that lasting, powerful Bb4 I consider some his best ever live notes, in terms of vocal quality and power and pure awesomeness.
The fact of Freddie not using his voice in the whole show helped him to get so easy the Bb4s and the C5

OMG... First time I've seen this images. They're all so beautiful, it's really a shame they forced them to playback. Love the fact that Freddie disclosed that "secret" to the audience every time he could, so authentic. I have watched this about a 1000 Times and I still cannot get over how handsome he was in this. He looked really happy too and the hard edge he had developed in 1984-85 was gone.
I love how despite lip syncing, Freddie was still able to have a great time dancing around to the songs
He didn’t hide it either. That’s the beauty of his showmanship. Except for his famous warm up solo, which was actually live, he played into it. Sad though.
Althought Freddie was singing in playback, this show was amazing! Freddie hated to sing in playback voice, but he didn't nothing to hide it. It' was very funny, and I can't stop to laugh about it. Freddie was and is the best frontman in the rock's history.
I was there in Montreux, only the time had past. All that was possible was to leave the flowers by your statue and wonder, why the best one left us. Freddie had all.

Я думаю, что у организаторов этого фестиваля банально нет возможности разместить на сцене всё то оборудование, которое нужно для Queen, что бы раскрыть их полное звучание. Для сравнение можно вспомнить выступление Queen на Live Aid и их же выступление на том же самом стадионе, но где они использовали уже своё музыкальное оборудование. Я имею ввиду концерт на Вембли 86 года. А масштабы Live Aid и поп фестиваля в Монтрё не сопоставимы. И для того, чтобы не делать из выступления Queen пародию на Queen, я думаю, что и было принято решение запустить фанеру, тупо из-за отсутствия технических возможностей.

The band is playing with playback but the most funny moment is that Freddie even doesn`t try to hide it! :) It feels like he wants to stress it, and it is funny and crazy! Just like: "Well , if we must use playback , let everyone knows it" :)) He doesn`t strongly cling the microphone , doesn`t try to thoroughly portray " singing", he just handing around and having fun. I never saw such behavior before!

Да... удивилась, когда заметила, что его голос идет, а он микрофоном в это время размахивает. Редко такое увидишь, чтоб они под фанеру выступали.
Я думаю это было вынуждено и было одним из условий организаторов фестиваля. Вряд ли группа была инициатором иначе Фредди бы не демонстрировал что они играют под фанеру.
