The reason why you get the small portions is because most of the time, it's part of a several course menu. You get 5 - 10 of these kind of dishes depending on the portions, restaurant and menu. If anyone's interested, you can eat in "Hof van Cleve" for about 230 euro (260 US dollar) p.p. without wine. For about 100 euro (110 US dollar) more you get a glass of carefully selected wine with every dish. Greetings from Belgium.
This man is a culinary genius I been working 8 years in a kitchen and the things he tries and his presentation off the chain not like some other vanilla ass rudy poo Michelin chefs.
Gault Millau has only ever awarded one 20/20, 19.5 is basically the highest rating you can get, only a few 3 Michelin star restaurants even receive this annually.
lol what do you mean? a lot of elements of the dish are things that take lots of preparation. hes simply just showing us the components of the dish and plating. but we don't see the seasonings, the cooking methods, the techniques, the time, the preparation that goes into these dishes. its definitely about the art but only because the flavor can only be so good and most Michelin star restaurants have perfected flavor components. so the focus/competition now is how beautifully can you present it and how can you take the elements of a dish and present them in their most natural and beautiful form. that is a theme amongst these highly skilled chefs is that they take the beauty of nature and the origin of the ingredient and present it in its most simple form while also giving you a very complex dish of flavors and techniques.

+Steve Sharp From wikipedia: "Sea-lavenders normally grow as herbaceous perennial plants, growing 10-70 cm tall from a rhizome; a few (mainly from the Canary Islands) are woody shrubs up to 2 metres tall. Many species flourish in saline soils, and are therefore common near coasts and in salt marshes, and also on saline, gypsum and alkaline soils in continental interiors."
No, you only pay more. You get between 6 and 10 of these dishes when you go to a Michlin restaurant and order a menu. More then enough, I can assure you
because it's not about being a pig and having a ton of shit on your plate. It's about the taste and experience. Btw. you gave like 5-10 of these courses.
yeah they just handed him 3 michelin stars because he asked really nicely 10 times. fucking idiot. that 'pile of vegetables' probably tastes better than anything you, your mom and your grandmother have ever made in their lifetimes.
Yeah, you sound like you know what you’re talking about. Crawl back into the fast-food hole you crawled out of and come back when you’ve tried the dish.
1:16 how come rich people eat so little. Just look at it...compare to what Burger King or Mc Donald have offered. Don't be such a cheapskate people, you are rich now.

Even after the full course you're not supposed to feel full. It's literally food art, meant for taste not for satiety.
Sweg, You're used to eat 1kg meat as a main dish?

You a fan of The Rock?

One day I will experience the taste and gourmet of Michelin star restaurants! For now, I will stick to meals within my budget!
Some Michelin starred restaurants are only the same price or 1.5 times the price of the best unstarred restaurants in the area.
How do these chefs keep the food hot? It seems like it takes forever to plate up to make it look pretty.
Spectacular
Precise and easy to do. Beautiful and delicious. Tyvm
ART
Impressive how he uses chopsticks to arrange the food.
these are not chopsticks.
Looks perfect, but I would have to go McDonald after plate like that ;D.
This guy is the shit !!!!
niceeeeee
but can it be fried ?
Top
So is michelin cooking really more about quality ingredents and the art? the things I've seen don't seem like outlandish meals or anything?

At least this one would half fill you, a few slices of bread to wipe the plate up should do the trick.
Besides the fact its 2 bites and half a piece of broccoli of course

Greetings from Belgium.
do they serve this as a single dish or apart of a course?
those kinds of restaurants serve menus of 8 or 9 courses
this restaurant serves 5 or 7 courses
Looks like McDonalds to me
All i can see is butter butter butter..
the butter is used to cook and poach the vegg in but is then strained of excess... if there was too much butter it would be pooling onto the plate
Who gets to the helicopter, first!
this looks extremely tasty but what i dont get.. Why the side of the plate tho. haha. Just plate it in the center.
Golden Ratio
please leave the flem out next time
Yeah cool, can I have like 50 of them so I'm full.
+outwestlawns you'd be stuffed
50 dishes from a 3 michelin star restaurant... You wouldn't have an empty wallet you'd be in some debt.
yeah your prob full after eating in a restaurant like that , those are main dishes and you prob have like 3 of them , same with all the rest , dessert and stuff like that , i eaten in a 3 star once for my fathers 60's and appetizers alone where like 7-8 things on plates
outwestlawns yea maybe this type of restaurant is not for you then? Go enjoy your kebab and let people admire The experience of this restaurant.
you obviously don't understand the demand for high end cuisine to say something so ignorant
follow ig zu.azwar tanks :)
Algae??????? either this man or the translator is mistaken
+Steve Sharp The translator was not mistaken
+Jericho8000 well it is not algae is it?

Wow.. so not algae then right?
+Steve Sharp No. I think it's a translation error as you suspected. Perhaps there is no equivalent word in Dutch/Flemish.
More michelins= less you eat and more you pay

because it's not about being a pig and having a ton of shit on your plate. It's about the taste and experience. Btw. you gave like 5-10 of these courses.
Because a plate is not meant to be packed with food? What are you? American?
Because, ART
@@panikeerder please don't generalize all americans with this idiot. a lot of America recognizes and appreciates high end cuisine

Hahahahahahahahahaah looks like a pile of leftover vegetables 🥒

stop being stupid. you get many of those dishes
These pieces of art hold 10x more nutrients than those shitty piles of low quality burgers you eat every day.
lol the funny part is that one little leaflet off that plate costs more than it does to make the "burger" you speak so highly of
