How to Connect an Inverter to a Battery Using a Samlex Cable & Fuse Kit

Probably a dumb question, but if I were to do this on my truck, would the inverter constantly draw power or only when turned on?
A little worried I might kill my battery

The inverter should only draw power when it's turned on.
