I am sitting next to my mother who is dying. These hymns are such a comfort.
I love Christian music but nothing beats the old church hymns.
You got to pay attention to some of the new "Christian Music". Their is a worldly poison being put in. You might not catch it just by listening to it, but if you look into some of the ones singing these songs, they are staying in their sins and promoting their worldly views.
my mom listened to his. everyday on her cancer journey. she's now resting in the lord. but this provided such comfort and gives me strength as well.

These are my favorite acapella hymns that I have on my phone. This is what we always sing at our church, are the old hymns.
I started out 20 years ago at a mega church and they only sang contemporary songs. 9 years later I found the church I am in now and have been for the past 11 years. King James 1611 only. Thank you for your music. Such a blessing for many! ✝️👑💖🎶

Can you pray that it passes quickly and no more residents take sick? So far about 25 +residents are sick or have tested positive which is not good.

I used to be with a church of Christ quartet, we got known around the county, different churches kept inviting us to sing.....the point? We sing a capella and congregations that used musical instruments heard us they always said it was so nice to hear the lyrics! Kind of funny what they cover up with instruments

This is a wonderful hymn to begin the Sabbath as soon as the sun sets, it’s asking God to abide with us always
If you are born again the Holy Ghost (Spirit) already abides in you. If He does not, you cannot walk in the Spirit. Walking under the law and walking in the Spirit is covered in Galatians.
Sabbath is an Old Testament law whereby God's people received rest.
Jesus is our rest. Come to me all ye who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He is Lord of the Sabboth. He is Lord of rest. He alone gives us peace in God. There is no rest outside of that.
Consider:
SALVATION IS A HEART ISSUE!
Many believe that they are saved because they said the sinners prayer. Yet, "The heart is deceptive above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9.
That prayer may be from Arminianism which states that man can save himself by his free will. Calvinists say that God chooses and who can resist the Holy Spirit? Stephen told his persecutors that they do always resist the Holy Ghost. Acts 7:51.
Scripture says, " The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth them that be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18, Isaiah 57:!5, 66:2.
Ask God to send the Holy Ghost to you, Luke 11:13. He will gently bring your sins to mind. This will be painful because pride hates it! As they come to mind, confess them to Jesus. Persevere. "Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light." Ephesians 5:14. WHEN you see your desperate need for a sinless Saviour, CRY OUT to Jesus to save you. That is His desire.
Then call upon the name of the Lord. How? As Peter told the Jews who were pricked in the heart. Acts 2:38 and as Paul did. Acts 22:16. They were baptized, calling on the name of the Lord.
"Jesus answered and said, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. " John 3:5. John's water baptism included the confessing of sins. Mark 1:1-5. Proverbs 28:13. Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost. Luke 3:16.
Meditate on Romans 6:3-11 and Colossians 2:6-14, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14.

@@judyswiderski2682 that is exactly what the Sabbath rest is-Resting in the Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus! (Mark 2:27-28; Gen 2:1-3...And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Before man sinned, God gave Him the Sabbath to commune with Him. After man sinned, God put into effect the plan of Redemption though the sacrificial ceremonies - to point to the Messiah. As those ceremonial holy days which were to be kept as a Sabbath, were fulfilled in Jesus, type met antitype and the ceremonial law met its fulfillment. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” (Matt 5:17).
Which is different than the Sabbath of the 4th commandment - given not as a result of sin but at creation. As a remembrance that God is our Creator and Redeemer - and not we ourselves. “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it”. (Exodus 20:8-11)
Part of the commandments (not suggestions) God wrote with His own finger (not man) on tables of stone, not sand, not paper) The only commandment that starts with remember as he knew we would forget.... .
@@judyswiderski2682 The salvation offered to those in the old testament is the same as the one offered in the new - By Faith alone! By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. (Heb 11:8) Faith and obedience go hand in hand.
If our faith in Jesus does not transform us from man lost in sin - and into a free person in Christ then our religion is nothing. We need a life of victory from the old self - a life free of sin and filled with the Spirit - the Spirit of Liberty! The 10 commandments - the moral law, is the perfect Law of Liberty.
Which is different than the ceremonial law. The moral law is a transcript of the character of God (merciful, and abundant in goodness and truth- Exod 34:6-7- which is the same God of the New Testament.... I am the Lord, I change not (Mal 3:6); Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. (Heb 13:8).
The Old Testament is a revelation of Jesus, the coming Messiah and the New Testament is a revelation of the Father through the life of Jesus

@@chattinglifestyle6008 I'm sorry, but you have been lied to by a false prophetess. The ten commandments are not the Law of Liberty, they are the law of bondage and death. (II Cor 3: 1-11 - Verse 7 calls the ten commandments, "The ministration of death, written and engraven in stones.") Read Hebrews. Like all of it, as that is the point of the whole letter. Hone in on the end of chapter 8 and the beginning of chapter 9 and the writer could not state any more clearly that the ten commandments were erased and replaced. Not one or two, all ten. That does not mean we can murder each other now, what it means is that Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 are no longer where we turn if we want to know the Law. It was the Apostles' job to "give us all things pertaining to life and godliness" (II Pet 1: 3)
In Heb 8: 8-12, the writer quotes Jer 31. "For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." From that prophesy he asserts in verse 13, "In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away." The Ellenistic Jews claim that the Law that was done away was the part written by Moses' hand and not the part written by the Hand of God, but what does the text say?
For starters, God is the one who said he would take the the covenant away. The covenant was not between Moses and the Jews, but between God and the Jews. Secondly, just keep reading. 9: 1-4: "Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;" Now, the Ellenistic Jews claim there were two covenants, but one Law continuing from the day of creation, so Adam and Eve also must have kept the sabbath, even though Nehemiah 9: 13-14 clearly state that the sabbath day law was given at Sinai. But, again, what does the text say? In this context of the covenant being taken away and replaced with a New Covenant, the writer said in 9: 4, "The tables of the covenant." Ellenistic Jews will tell you that the tables are the Law, but the Bible, over and over, refers to the tables as "the covenant". So the covenant "waxed old and vanished away", but we still follow the "tables of the covenant"? You need to break away from your false prophet, read your Bible, ditch the law of death, and be saved by Jesus in His way: being baptized into His death and raised in the likeness of His resurrection, and living your life for Him. (Rom 5: 20-6: 18)

Gospel! The good news about Jesus Christ and salvation from judgment on our sins. Jesus dined with His disciples; Mark 14:22-25, the night before He went to the cross. Jesus and His disciples were eating a Passover meal together at the Last Supper. After partaking of bread and wine (His body and His blood) , the Bible mentions the hymn Jesus sang with His disciples. “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives” Mark 14:26. What were they singing on such an occasion? Psalms 113-118.
THE GOOD NEWS
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me." John 14.6
Blood coming from his body, NAKED, hanging on that cross like Roman torture weapon! What a Lord God and Savior! He had to. HE is God the Son. Only His sinless blood could pay our sins price.1 John 2:1-2. The Savior was born to die for our sins so we could live through Him. I Subscribed.
God knew your praise ministry before the world was made! Ephesians 1:1-14. Prayer goes out for you and those here. A Crown in Heaven awaits all who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ that saves a soul. ( see"JESUS SAVES") 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20; Philippians 4:1. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek".
This praise resounds throughout the earth: "Jesus Christ is Lord and God. Only He saves". He testified: ''I and my Father are One" John 1:1-5; 10:30
2 Samuel chapter 22:verse 50 "Therefore I will praise you, O Lord, out of the countries, and I will praise your name."
JESUS SAVES
God the Son (Jesus Christ) has given us the gospel to share with the world. Mark 16:15: "And He said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
How can we hear it? Scripture tells us. Romans 10:17 "Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (We receive the "word" in many ways. The "Word" is Jesus Christ!); John 1:1-5. God the Holy Spirit teaches through the Word of God in the Bible)
Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel. "God with us" in human flesh without sin. The Savior was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal; body mutilated; blood poured out, died and was placed in a tomb and rose from the dead the 3rd day never to die again. He is the first fruits of the dead. Only through Him can dead live! Matthew 28:6.
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Jesus died and paid the penalty for our sins to rescue us from eternal death. He died on our behalf. We believe in Him, trusting His death and shedding of His blood as payment for ALL our sins and His burial and resurrection from the dead the third day! John 20:24-31; again 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 above.

Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians 1:13-14. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation 21:8.
Christ is not God the son, He is the son of GOD. There is a difference there, there is no where in the bible that you can find God the son. Yeshua (Jesus) is the son of GOD.

One of the things I agree with Church of Christ with is staying acapella. I'm not condemning ones that don't do acapella, as some Churches of Christ seem to do, as that is adding to the word when it is not condemned and it is being taught that it is. Many Churches have turned into entertainment/concert/feelings Churches with instrumental, and must be careful you are their for the right reasons.
