I know how you feel. A couple of years ago I went to Home Depot to buy a leaf blower. They had a cheaper model available. You could pick it up the Box and take it to checkout. I wanted a more powerful one. Boxes of those weren’t within reach. They were way up high and you needed an employee to come with a ladder and get it for you. I found an employee. He got up a ladder and carried it down. As he came off the elevator I reached to take the box. He said he couldn’t give it to me. That he had to take it to checkout himself. I then realized he didn’t want to give it to me as he thought I would walk out the store without paying for it. I realized it offended me. Then I thought this guy doesn’t know me. How does he know I wouldn’t walk out with it? Then I thought he is just doing his job. I followed him to the checkout. I think you were in the same situation. Just wanted to say I can relate to how you felt.
I feel ya, but as someone who used to self-harm I can honestly tell you there's a lot of sharp objects that can fit into a small bag, back pack, or purse. So, if he was there to stop ppl from self-harming in the bathroom, then I get it. It's a scary time, so they can't be tooo careful.

I had that same problem so what I did is gone to the ferry building restrooms and I didn't have that problem with the backpack and the three-wheel scooter the blue one and no security guard came up to me and said no I can have that bag or backpack on me while I'm using the ferry building restroom.

Wolfy, I wondered the same thing about the restrooms in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. I'm retired now, but when I worked near the Embarcadero, I liked to walk around the region at lunchtime. I've used the ladies' room, there, often. I had a purse ... as Jermaine wondered about. I don't remember any kind of attendant monitoring who went in and out. I don't know what rules might apply to bikes.

My purse is a small Jansport backpack design! Too little to be a regular backpack. Ever since I found it for $6 I have never carried anything else!
