When you are a run and gun solo filmmaker conducting interviews sometimes you need to be creative in how to setup lighting, audio and more. This is ESPECIALLY true when you are the one conducting the interview and making sure the audio is solid and the camera is setup. Today I want to show you a creative way to handle audio with your tripod and camera all at the same time for an interview.
Check out @SoundSpeeds channel! He is a PRO and offers lots of great advice on everything audio related.

Hi Jake. You have described my most common scenario. Me, my FX6 or A7iv and the talent. I love being able to get multiple audio coverage on the FX6. Boom to channel 1/2, receiver to channel 3/4 and recording on the transmitter. Usually I can take a C-stand with boom holder, but I do have a job coming up that will need your stripped down setup taken on a plane. Thanks.
oh I am so happy to hear this helped you out! I kid you not I debated making this video or not because I was sure a bunch of comments would have been roasting me for it lol.
@@JakeSloan Loved the twins too. I understand two takes of the same scene, but how did you do it with all the moving foliage?
Great job on the video Jake! Thanks for making it.
You bet and thanks for watching!
Very cool setup Jake! I loved the intro too!
Thanks Josh!!
Allow myself to introduce myself. That’s a great solution. Pretty slick.
Hahaha, I had just mentioned the Zacuto in my comment and then got to that part of the video.
hahahahaha, yeah I had to add that in or the comments would have all been: "you know someone makes something for that"...
Nice set up, Jake! Gorgeous background. It's always great to see you... both of you. Some of my best conversations are with myself. Cheers, Brendan
hahahahaha thanks
Interesting set-up to be sure. It got me thinking.
lol glad to hear it.
Heck of a set up Jake. You did a great job bud.
Super informative.
Thanks Bob!
Hey, it's a fellow Alaskan! Just found your channel! Great work! You might know a friend of mine who does some drone work up in your part of the state, named Soren Sieberts, who has worked with me on projects quite a few times.
I do know Soren! AK is a small world lol.
Jake squared!
LOL who knew I was a twin?
Title: “My simple solo creator setup FX6” then Jake has his twin present with a massive pro setup 😂 nice rig and great video
Accurate lol
How about a video on your FX6 setup and tips/tricks!
I will be releasing some more FX6 videos soon (including a rig build etc)
@@JakeSloanlooking forward to it. Love the channel!
Ok, now you're just showing off interviewing yourself! I still get stuck setting up proper export settings in Premiere Pro ha ha.
Hahaha well I’ll admit it took a LOT of planing
This is great info!
Glad it was helpful!
@@JakeSloan I'm doing an interview next Thursday and I was looking at that mic boom with the shoe mount. Thank God I didn't buy it. This is perfect for me because I like simple.
great video
Thanks!
😅 you now there is nothing like a fellow human. At the end of the day i put two wireless and pray.
hahahahahahaha, I would be lying if I said I have never done it and then crossed my fingers prayed and sweat all the way through the interview...
❤
thank you
