Ambassador Cruise ship AMBIENCE departs Tilbury on 30th June 2024. AMBIENCE was departing on a 14 day cruise around the British Isles and Ireland. The next port of call was Kirkwall.
Hello Thames Ships. Great Video. "Ambience" is looking really old now. The Thames was calm, and yet, she needed a tug to turn her around, backing out into an incoming tide. Thank you. Spoolbox
Thanks. Yes - the town on the other side of the river is called Gravesend. Up until the end of March, there was a ferry that took you from this side of the river (at Tilbury) to the other side of the river (at Gravesend) which took about 5 minutes. As this ferry doesn't run anymore, if you are driving from Tilbury to Gravesend, it now takes about 30 minutes and you have to cross the river using the Queen Elizabeth II bridge at Dartford. If you are travelling by train, you have to travel via London and it takes about 90 minutes to get to Gravesend from Tilbury!

Lovely video. Beautiful ship. They are building a lot on the shore there as well like they do here. Quite a pity.
